So you detest him? What an unpleasant person you are then.

Own goal was a freak. Are you saying that a missed penalty automatically means you played badly? So every player who's ever missed a penalty in a penalty shoot-out had a bad game? Stupid comment. Any player who's ever scored a freak own goal has played badly? His general play was excellent. He created Viafara's second goal with a great turn and pass and generally outplayed his defenders all night. We were by far the better team and he was an important part of it. If anyone should have been singled out as the scpaegoat for losing that tie it was Pele and not Best.

Well indeed. That's why there will be another points deduction. Football rules say you have to exit administration with a CVA. Football rules say you have to pay all footballing debts in full. General insolvency law stops you from preferring football creditors at the expense of other categories of the same class. So it's either: Pay everyone 100%, CVA, football debts paid in full, happy days. Pay football debts in full, don't get a CVA > points deduction. Get a CVA, don't pay football debts in full > potential withholding of golden share, but more likely a points deduction. At least, that's what I think the rules say. Either way, I think the football creditor's rule is stupid.

Well actually it doesn't at all as Employment Tribunals are not binding on each other. The Employment Appeals Tribunal is binding though so it would be interesting to see if this is appealed.

Clegg has been by far the best "performer" IMO (and I don't mean that in a derogatory way).
-
He played well and he's a good player. With regards to your final sentence, I guess you just know less about football than people involved in it.
-
WTF? Why?
-
Irrelevant and unduly morbid. He's 62 (I think) not 82. I expect he will be planning to sell up long before he gets to an age where anyone needs to worry.
-
Can't believe anyone's moaning. FFS. He's mint and you're dullards.

VAT on food it is then!

Arsenal's problem is that they have one striker of top Prem quality and he is always injured. Simple as that.
-
Surely we will play whichever foreign team is on a pre-season tour of England that has them in the vicinity of London/the south on roughly the right date. Same as evey other year, no? How about Grashopper Zurich? Has anyone always fancied Young Boys Bern?
-
I agree. Massively overrated.

Really? Thanks for that.

He was excellent on Tuesday. That sort of player is bound to have games that occassionally make them look worse than they are because they're prepared to try things and take people on. You need a couple of those otherwise your play is safe and boring. Players like him and Lallana have the bottle to demand the ball and do things with it. You won't see better in League One so you'd better learn to appreciate it. benjii Patronising But True Statements Ltd (2010)

The ref generally had a good game in terms of decisions. There was one shocker when they were awarded a throw-in wrongly but that was the lino's fault, not the ref's. The only gripe I had was that he let a couple of their players escape a booking when they should have got one and then booked Schneiderlin for something fairly innocuous. Having said that, the stats said he committed 6 fouls so I suppose he probably can't complain overall.

It's not weird, you moron. Pompey and Saints are rivals. You lot have provided one of the most hilariously disgraceful seasons in the history of professional football. We have been loving it. I think the PFC fans with numerous posts on here are the ones needing some sort of clinical validation.

Funniest thing on the thread.

Yes and no. Without the tainted money and involvement with these characters in the first place, the best you lot would have had in recent years would've been a trip to Doncaster and home crowds of under 10k. At least now you've achieved something, however pyrrhic, since the days of black and white. What was it Redknapp said... "40 years of dross"?

Lol - I think number 8 casts some doubt over the rest of it!

I agree with this (other than a fit Murty or a Thomas in "goal machine" form).
-
Much depends on whether some of the senior chaps - Perry, Jaidi, Connoly, Murty etc - are fit to play a season in the Championship, in terms of squad depth. If some of those will struggle we will need to let them go and replace them. In any case, I think we need to sign another central midfielder as we don't really have any suitable back-up there at the moment and I wouldn't want to bank on Hammond and Schneiderlin being available all season and also on them being a particularly good CCC pairing. Right back is a concern but I think Semi might benefit from a close/pre-season at a settled club. If Murty and Thomas are still around and fit then I wouldn't call it a problem position but if someone like Harding (but right footed) became available we should snap them up. Assuming we sign Antonio then we have options on either wing with both Lallana and Puncheon capable of covering him on the right and playing on the left/behind the striker. Upfront, Lambert and Barnard are good enough. If retaining Connolly doesn't stretch the budget we should do so (unless he is definitely crocked) as he is clearly a good CCC quality player. Waigo IMO would be a decent squad player to have but we might be able to pick up gems (a la Harding) which mean we decide not to keep him. Generally though, I don't think radical surgery is needed but it depends on the level of expectation. Our current team would not get promoted from the CCC IMO, but would probably not get relegated either. If we want promotion next season then I think the prime target should be to sign two of the best midfielders in the division and possibly another top striker.

Wowsers, I agree with him/her/it. That's what you need to remember nick - even if they do exit admin at some point without sporting punishments (unlikely IMO), absent a billionaire benefactor, the thing that exits will be next to useless and have absolutely no residual value.
