  1. Awesome. WHat a pen. Especially after the ref mincing about for ages.
  2. What a load of garbage.
  3. Either that or Skacel's signing on Monday.
  4. Hammond I guess. I'm sure KD's cool with it.
  5. according to the tv commentator man.
  6. Come on the Saints. Make some goals please.
  7. Lambert and Connolly are always good value, even at 4/1.
  8. Cox today.
  9. Trotman back in for Thomas. KD in goal. Otherwise unchanged.
  10. Cheers.
  11. Ah, the old Sunday 4pm tradition.
  12. Hehe - was just kidding. I like hearing about players I never got to see too. It reminds me how lucky I was to start supporting us when I did (89-90 season). I got to see MLT, Tim Flowers, Doddsy, Shearer (briefly), Niemi, Marian etc.... Imagine if you were a kid in Soton who had started getting really interested in football about three years ago Some of us have been very lucky in our Saints supporting "careers"!
  13. Thanks Phil, enjoyed that. Especially the bit about the dessert! (No mention of dodgy ****tails, Russian brides, the weather or how to do business )
  14. I expect it got a bit wet.
  15. Did wonders for Bale. A good move to him would be to Newcastle, Middlesbrough, Notts Forest, Leicester... somewhere like that. A good "proper" club in the Championship (as opposed to some silly club like Reading, Barnsley, Blackpool). If he goes to the Prem he will just do what Surman does ie. not a lot. He needs another season or two in the Championship first IMO. I would imagine he will be here until the end of the season in any case.
  16. Niemi would be wasted though... we only have about two or three shots on target against us in most matches. A strikeforce of Lambert and Shearer... Lambert and Keegan... Lambert and Beattie... etc would be hilarious in this division. I wouldn't want MLT as he finished on a perfect note v Arsenal. I would plump for Marian, Belmadi, Ekelund, someone like that. Skilful players that would destroy League One defenders and make them look silly. By the way, you know this thread is an open invitation for all the old gits to come on and tell is how good little Stan Wilberforce or Jimmy "jughead" Trouserpress etc... was, don't you?
  17. I remember going to Upton Park and watching us win 4-2 ( I think!) with Gibbens bossing the middle of the pitch!
  18. I'm sure it will appear later.
  19. I think Perry is a fine squad player provided we have a dominant player alongside him. I think Holmes provides adequate cover on the left with Mills if needed. I also think that Gobern (not at left back!) and McCLaggon could be introduced into the team if we had an injury crisis as we are a decent mentally strong outfit now and the youngsters won't be thrown in at the deep end again. Agree that we should be looking for another striker. I think the RB and LB positions could do with more cover but I think we would look to bring a loan in if needed for those. I can't see us signing someone who is better than Harding or Murty and James is developing all the time. I would like to see us sign another Hammond type of player as cover. So for me, assuming Antonio and Trotman stay, it's a striker and central midfielder on the list with a possible loan at left back or right back.
  20. " Firstly, I did not realise that there was such a substantial Indian population in Nigeria. It appears that your streets are indeed awash with the good people of the Asian continent. I for one applaud your great country for having such an admirable ethnic mixture, and indeed, my own father is a Romulan, so I know only too well the importance of tolerance and understanding. It seems clear to me that Nigeria leads the world in racial integration, and your country is to be rightly commended for that. Also, I must apologise; I was unaware that national currency of Nigeria is the Indian Rupee as is clearly demonstrated in the advertisement for the Nokia monyle phone. What a dumbass I am turning out to be. I hope you will forgive my ignorance? I can't help but notice that the billboards in Lagos seem to have magical properties. How else could one explain how the street lamp appears to disappear behind the painting your created for me? Amazing" !
  21. ****! Does anyone know if the aftershocks reached Soton?
  22. If my auntie had ******** etc... Quite simply, if 6 teams that are currently doing quite well maintain their form then we won't be able to make the play-offs unless we produce monumental form between now and the end of the season. Anything which condenses the league and stops the top teams maintaining their current form is a good thing.
  23. Exactly. People saying it's good that the top teams are beating the teams around us are being more than a little simple-minded IMO.
