  1. Not sure, but whatever works let's do it.

  5. We need to do what Leicester are doing (except stomping on opponents ankles - well, Vardy maybe). Nigel Pearson got something set up there that is working incredibly.
  6. http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/epl_injury_table.php#c3 This is getting bloody ridiculuous.
  7. That's why I've never had anything against them (the Brenda period excepted). I've admired (enviously) their extraordinary success over the decades. Yes they've raided us for a number of players recently, but apart from Mane we got decent money for them. Now Spurs, that's a different matter ....
  8. Your booing and jeering of Lovren was loud and relentless. It didn't stop for 90 minutes. Great job!
  9. Lots of RAWKers congratulating Saints, saying we deserved to win. Fair play to them. This is my favourite: "We were lucky to lose just 2-0 on aggregate...... should've been 8!!!"
  10. If you click on the number of votes it'll tell you who voted "in" and who voted "out".
  11. Are you sure? I thought that's for the FA cup winner? Aren't league cup winners the lowest seed and have to qualify? Anyway, getting ahead of ourselves. Have to beat United first. Or Hull (crosses fingers).
  12. On the other hand, win and we probably deny Everton if they finish 7th.

Actually it's worked a treat so far. We're in the League cup final, FA cup 4th round, and comfortably mid table. EL was disappointing, but we missed out on that by away goals, aided by a couple of (unlucky for us) outstanding strikes and Austin getting injured. All this without the quality striker we've desperately needed since the season began.
  14. Great save by Forster from Forster.
  15. This. With a quality striker this tie would be over. Proud of the players so far.
  16. So we agree then, in order of preference: 1. No away goals rule. 2. Away goals rule as it's been done in Europe for the last 50+ years. 3. Away goals only count after extra time in the second leg.
  17. Agreed on all points. But if they are going to use it in this competition it makes no sense to only apply after extra time. The whole point of having an away goals rule is to avoid extra time (which neither side wants or needs).
  18. Some parts are missing Hamilton. Here's the full version. "13.5 In the Semi-Final ties, if the aggregate score is level at the end of the second game an extra half-hour shall be played, regardless of which team has more away goals at that stage. This is to give the home team an extra 30 minutes to come up with a winner in front of their own fans. If the aggregate scores are still level at the end of extra time the tie shall reluctantly be decided by goals scored away from home counting twice. If the teams remain equal after this procedure the tie shall be determined by the taking of kicks from the penalty mark in accordance with the Laws of Association Football."
  19. Excellent, I see we're now squaring the circle.
  20. Yes he is. And what's really aggravating is that they (Leicester) have benefited from very few injuries over the last 2 seasons (I doubt they would've won the league if they had a normal run of injuries last season). My respect for them has disappeared, and I now would be quite pleased if they go down.
  21. I think away goals should count ten-fold*. That way, if we lose 2-1 (after bloody extra time) we'll win the tie 11-2 on aggregate. Take that you scousers. * If the aggregate scores are level
  22. And presumably Gardos would pick up a knock if he were picked.
  23. Not from last night's squad, but we are also missing Austin, Davis, Boufal, McCarthy, Targetttt, Pied, Hesketh.
  24. The rule, under which away goals count double if a two-legged tie ends with the aggregate scores level, was introduced into European competition in the Cup Winners' Cup in 1965-66. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/sep/04/uefa-champions-league-seedings The part in bold has to be added if someone says away goals count double. If they're using away goals counting double* in this competition, it should be after 90 minutes, not extra time, just like they've done for over 50 years in Europe. * if the aggregate scores are level
