  1. Ok I'm off to my bowling league now. When I get back (about 11 pm UK time ) I expect a CB and striker in. A 300 would be a nice icing on the cake.
  2. I hope we told them in graphic detail where to stick their enquiry.
  3. No lumberjacks or hockey pucks involved?
  4. But not as bad as Calum Bloody Davenport.
  5. If that's the case, let's throw in Long for good measure. Maybe Yoshia too. Strikers and CBs are overrated anyway.
  6. We're supposed to be bringing in a striker, not selling one FFS.
  7. Given our appalling track record of injuries, maybe not.
  8. Luck certainly plays a part, but I think we're well behind Leicester in the sports science/injury prevention department. As I keep saying, bring in Nasty Nigel to set up something similar here.
  9. Me too, but after 2 games in 3 days (one a gruelling semi final) it was too much to ask to field a strong team three times in 6 days (not to mention having 9 injured and Fonte gone). If we hadn't lost 4 on the trot in the league (say instead W 2 and L 2) then I would have liked a weak team against Leicester and Swansea, and strongest for both cup games. But we needed to stop the rot in the league against Leicester (which obviously worked) and of course it was always going to be a strong team against Liverpool. That meant yesterday's game had to be throwing the kids to the wolves. C'est la vie. I don't blame Puel at all, and that's from someone who wanted us to go full out for the cups. One out of 3 is a fantastic success, if we can beat Utd of course.
  10. http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/epl_injury_table.php Southampton injuries: 9 Man Utd injuries: 1 HTH
  11. He presumably meant over the long term. Same team twice over three days is possible, but doing it for the third time another three days later is a bridge too far.
  12. If Austin, Boufal, Rodriguez, Ward-prowse, Van Dijk, Targett, McCarthy and Fonte had been available (Yoshida had a knock too), and we hadn't played an exhausting midweek semi-final, and hadn't had games every 3/4 days since Christmas, I'm sure we would've seen a much, much stronger line up. All of that was out of Puel's hands. BTW Arsenal only had one player on their injury list compared to our nine.
  13. Stop it, stop it! This is much too sensible for this bedwetting thread.
  14. A bit of both, I think. As I've said before, the club should look into what Leicester are doing so successfully in that regard. The difference in their injury lists and ours over the last couple of seasons is like, umm ... the difference between SMS and Krap Nottarf.
  15. Absolutely. And we won't finish 7th even if we try. Should've put our best out today, and play the kids against Swansea.
  16. I hope so, but according to physioroom they only have one injury (Cazola). Thanks, that'll be the silver lining if we lose. Reckon Chelsea will win the cup this year. Best team in the league, coasting at the top, and no European matches to contend with so will take it seriously.
  17. Pessimistic about this one. Wenger will probably put out a stronger team than the ones we knocked out in the League cup this year and last (he won't want that to happen again), plus they're rested and we're not. And of course our lengthy injury list.
  18. OK, whatever, have we bought a bloody striker yet (and CB)?
  19. "Made" is past tense.
  20. That looks a bit worrying now. There is no longer a mention about squaring circles.
