Which means "this has 0-0 written all over it" Trousers has been wrong 29 times in a row.

The DFCSBs could do a lot worse than Davros. Talking of which, I'm sure Stuart Gray would be a lot cheaper - so I'm still keeping my fingers crossed.
-
Sven is also much too good for them. Stuart Gray would be perfect for them.
-
As Chez says, Stuart is certainly up to the task. All of us here have full faith in him. Come on Roman and Vlad, how can you not be impressed with that excellent win over the mighty Barnsley? Give the man a contract today. Our illustrious previous chairman didn't hesitate to appoint Wigley the minute Luggy left, so you shouldn't dilly dally either. The early bird gets the worm. You know it make sense.

Better get up quick if we want to be in the PL
Dark Munster replied to doddisalegend's topic in The Saints
Well, it's a lot better idea than the one closed shop PL being proposed. To be honest, there are too many professional teams in England now. Most teams in L1 and L2 are barely surviving, and many in the Championship too. Relegation now from the PL is close to a death knell to some clubs. Remember it almost cost us our club's existence! I remember watching the final PL match against ManUre with an American friend, and after we lost he said don't worry, it's not that bad. I had to explain to him that is was that bad, and that he was lucky that in the US they don't have the disastrous relegation. Having a PL1 and PL2, keeping the same 3 up 3 down, and more money going into PL2 than the current Championship, wouldn't necessarily be a bad idea. On top of that, maybe have one relegation spot in PL2, with any team going up having to meet ground size criteria (much like they do in Scotland). Big teams currently in L1 (e.g. the Sheffields) would be invited to join PL2, and the shite currently in the Championship shown the door (e.g. Cheats FC ) -
It is a bit of a dilemma, isn't it? Temporarily suspend our delight in the Cheats losing, half hoping for them to scrape enough wins so that Gray can be rewarded with a bumper contract. It worked with the incompetent duckhunter, being conned by our end of season wins against disinterested nothing-to-play-for ManUre and Arse teams. I just hope Roman and Vlad don't wait too long to make their minds up. We want normal service to be resumed as soon as possible. And also not very bright (now there's a surprise!) It's like a prisoner on death row looking forward to execution day.

Goodbye Stevie-boy. We'll miss you.

I'm amazed CW, that's actually quite witty. As they say, give enough Corpses enough typewriters .... ----

^^^ Great summary Gemmel. If we're lucky it'll keep Corpse quiet for 5 minutes. The proposed licensing system is intended to build on the two leagues' recent efforts to put in more safeguards against financial mismanagement, asset-stripping owners, tax avoidance and other related sins. They've just described the DFCSBs to a tee. Congratulations Cheats FC, you are pioneers! The first PL club to go into administration, and now the leading example of all that's corrupt in football, and the catalyst for the government's desperate move to clean up the game. The few must be so proud.

Oh yes, sadly for you there is plenty of life left in this old dog. Which is more than can be said for Cheats FC.

If I were cynical I would think that they are doing the old Chinny/Gunner Runner Jr. trick of racking up debt, with no intention of paying. When it's finally time to pay the piper, they'll trouser what's left and leave the cesspit of a club to the wolves. But reneging on the CVA and other payments, and would mean yet another administration, in which the FL would really have to show their teeth. I doubt Admin Andy will be able to come back to con Injustice Mann and others a second time. Being dumped into the Blue Square would be the best the few could pray for, liquidation being more likely. But I am being unfair. Our friendly, cuddly Roman, and his adorable sidekick Vlad, would never be that horrible to the club they have fallen in love with.

Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

If Forest are going to fall for the old Stevie-boy has done a great job with limited finances crap, more fool them. One clown out for them, and a new one in. As for a possible manager's vacancy at Cheats FC, I think Stuart Gray is now ready to step up and do a stirling job for them. It will be interesting to see who finishes lower: Forest or the DFCSBs.

Trial starts just as he is ready to return to the first team after a lengthy injury. Great timing.

Plan A: Plan B: Plan C: A light.

Remember Alan Ball (RIP), when manager of Man City, instructed his players near the end of their end of season match against liverpool to hang on to a draw? He heard from someone in the crowd that we were losing (which was false), so erroneously thought a draw would prevent City from being relegated. Well that was a minor mistake compared to this idiocy: http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer/11/10/09/SOCCER_South_Africa.html&TEAMHD=soccer&BID=165 How the hell can the coach not know the tie-breaking rules before the final match? I knew many footballers are thick, but this takes the cake!
-
Could well be, although if so, he probably copied it from Paisley. Gazza and Rush were both as daft as brushes.
-
In fairness, being thick isn't necessarily a handicap for a talented footballer. For example, Ian Rush was described as being "as daft as a brush" by the late, great Bob Paisley. Of course, being crap and thick is a bit of a problem.
-
The FA would have to be clueless, complete morons, and stark raving bonkers to appoint him. Which I guess makes it a real possibility.

"Ok, Mr. Dubov, I'll hold my hand out, if you insist. What ... what are you going to do with that lead pipe?"

2010/11 3rd place 80 points 2009/10 3rd place 79 points 2008/09 3rd place 80 points 2007/08 3rd place 75 points So 80 points was enough to finish 2nd in each of the last 4 years (with a good goal difference required in 2 of them).
