"Last year he was given peanuts and he delivered." Amazing, they outbid the likes of billionaire-owned QPR for players by offering peanuts. "Magnificent" doesn't even begin to describe that achievement.

Well, I was predicting that Chinny would pull the plug if his gamble to go up to the Sky Money League failed, but I must admit I didn't expect him to do it this way. It gives a whole new meaning to "liquidators". And, as an icing on the cake, it actually has raised the few's hopes again before the horror is going to set in. After the shit hits the fan I think they're going to wish they had a dead owner, or another non-existent owner.

Oh, how I used to laugh at Scottish goalkeepers. Not any more.

Put in £40 million or so of filthy money, along with loans which they have no intention of paying back, thereby allowing them to outbid honest clubs for the best championship level players and get promoted, then receive £40 million of clean Sky money, and finally sell quickly to some sucker before the inevitable relegation/administration? An appealing plan for immoral dim-witted owners. Any resemblance to money-laundering mafia or cesspits of clubs is purely coincidental.

CSI and Cheats FC: the perfect match.
-
Let's not concern ourselves one way or the other. I'm sure the Cheats will be able to finish bottom all by themselves, without any help from a points deduction.

Well, it seems the few are getting very excited that (alleged) Russian mafia money launderers are about to take them over*. But in fairness that would represent a step up from a loan shark, son of a child maimer, nonexistent sheik, and an ice-cream doctor. (* or maybe not)

He wasn't manager long enough to really judge how good he could have become in the longer term. He seemed to know how to get the most out of his players, but that was only in in the short term (Tranmere aside), and on top of that he showed no promise in the transfer market (Uwe Rossler anyone?). Also his track record at other clubs is far from stellar. And as just one comparison, Ian Dowie did brilliantly in his first year with Palace. But it didn't take long after that for it to go downhill from there and for him to get sacked.

Top post. Just to add, Pearson's short record at Saints: W3 D7 L3 1.23 points per game = solid mid-table form.
-
Conveniently ignoring: only 3 defeats in 13. W3 D7 L3 1.23 points per game = solid mid-table form.

Time for a Saints' whip around to commission Ian Brennan to make a much-deserved statue of Peter Storrieteller? A 20 point deduction for Cheats FC, after his court case, would surely seal the deal.

Nige's first season in charge of the Leicester kids: Nige's second season: Yep, really overrated. Not much better than the Dutch duo.

This. I was about to bold exactly the same part and make a similar comment! What is it that they say about great minds.... ?

Any Huddersfield players we should bid for?

Agreed 100%. I'd wager my house Messi won't play for Saints next year.

: If he cared for the club he would've have taken the club into administration 4 days earlier. There are 100 other ways of doing it if he didn't give a toss about the club (which he knew he was leaving), like going into administration just a few days after the cutoff (which he did), or giving notice of administration to drag it out, or .....
-
That's not the point. By going into administration a few days earlier the 10 point penalty would not have carried over to L1, and we would have made the playoffs.
-
Pearsons wages were not excessive and had nothing to do with getting rid of him. And Crouch said that Pearson would have accepted a lower salary when the contract was due to be renegotiated the summer RL kicked him out.
-
You mean like getting rid of Nigel Pearson and replacing him with a couple of amateurs, or waiting a few days after the point deduction carry-over date to take the club into administration ?

This.
