  1. I don't think Chinny's going to make that mistake again. Plan B is probably coming up soon, and I'd pay good money to see the look on TCWTB's face when it does (which would be the only time I would want to see TCWTB's face).
  2. Go Nucks!
  3. Good points, ta. Reading and Forest are both on 60 points, but Forest (like the Cheats) have 7 games left (not 5 as I incorrectly stated), with Reading having 8 left. Still, the Cheats are 6 points behind both of them so they do need at least 8 points more than both (taking into account Reading's superior g.d.) Looking grim indeed for the few. Rallyboy said that Saturday's defeat meant a wheel fell off. I think it's more like 2 fell off, with another one wobbling badly. Which makes them look like some dilapidated car that's been a victim of **** Dastardly, bringing up the rear in Wacky Races.
  4. Shouldn't we cross that bridge when we get to it?
  5. If they'd won yesterday they would have been one of 4 clubs on 57 points, three behind the team in 6th. Still perilous, but not impossible by any means. But now, with 5 matches left, they have to get 7 more points than Reading in 6th place (who have a game in hand). Not to mention more points than the 6 teams immediately above them. All for a 1/4 shot at saving the club. It's going to be a nail biting finish for the Cheats. Let's wish them luck that they can get enough points in the next few games to get close. Agonisingly, painfully, heartbreakingly close.
  6. If that happens, none of us here could have scripted it better.
  7. Not to mention the Cheats owed 100 times more (despite having the luxury of years of Sky money as well as the over generous parachute money). Cheating, lying bastards. Off to the Lounge in a minute.
  8. Yes, but imagine they do manage to scrape into 6th place. Just as the few start to celebrate a chance of avoiding the guillotine ..... they get hit with a 10 point penalty, and so Chinny puts them into administration to complete the asset stripping, resulting in an extremely pissed-off FL tossing them out of the league completely. Oh how we'd laugh.
  9. That's certainly a keeper - didn't realise they'd brought out a video. Any chance of uploading the highlights onto youtube?
  10. Depends. If helping them out only delays them going bust until after the season ends, then we could be cutting our own throats (if the resulting points change from them going bust before the season ends is the difference between us getting promoted or not). I think that's the point IKT was trying to make.
  11. Even if they had gone straight down again, Saints would've got 4 years worth of parachute payments.
  12. I didn't see it, but that surely must be amongst the greatest Saints games. We were virtually dead and buried before that match.
  13. You're missing the point. Replace Heskey by Anderton (or any other England donkey who played instead of Matty pre 1998 ).
  14. This.
  15. Probably not. I'm sure that Chinny has shot his wad. If they don't go up their squad for next season will make our disastrous "revolutionary coaching set up" with the kids look like a Man City style extravaganza. And if the Autumn parachute payment is indeed the last one, then it's surely pull-the-plug time, and the Cheats (if they aren't completely liquidated) will drop down the leagues faster than a pair of knickers in Portsea Island.
  16. I wonder if he'll be back for the playoffs?
  17. They should simply be renamed Cheats FC. That will avoid all confusion.
  18. So as I've said before, I don't want them to go bust, but if they are going to anyway let's hope it happens before the season ends.
  19. With one of the most expensive squads in the division (the manager of billionaire-owned QPR complained about being outbid for a player by the Cheats), and with him probably failing to take them up to the Parachute Payment Division, I doubt Chinny shares your view.
  20. Not sure Brighton and co. would help them out (even indirectly), but I agree it's very unlikely the FL would allow a club to fold with just a handful of games left. They (the FL) would do whatever they can to help the club stagger over the finishing line (and after that leave them to rot).
  21. Alternatively, you could buy yourself a nice mansion and yacht in the Caribbean, and let the Cheats implode and slide back down to the level they deserve, all by themselves. Admittedly there won't be the satisfaction of them playing in red/white stripes, but I'm sure that won't be too big of a sacrifice as you sip martinis on the beach.
  22. Reading the comments it is clear that the few are going to get fewer. But if for any reason a ticket was not provided, the fan would still owe Zebra the full debt. The club said it ‘cannot foresee any circumstances where this would be relevant.’ That's strange, everyone here can.
  23. And if Saints were to win that match it would wipe the smiles off some of the cocky Brighton fans posting here.
  24. I want them to survive, but if they are going to go bust anyway at least they could have the decency to do so before the season ends.
