  1. Something very exciting is happening with the club. We will stay up this year and build in the Summer. Players coming in will be carefully selected so as to add to the squad harmony and our style of play rather than disrupt it. The club have worked hard to build a footballing brand and I like what I'm seeing. My gut-feeling is that the current lot will be even better next year (experience, tactical astuteness and physical conditioning all improving) and with a couple of careful additions we will finish comfortably top half. My gut feeling is that 8th spot is about right. Please don't tell me to concentrate on this year etc etc. I'm a football fan ffs.
  2. I think our style of play is perfectly suited to doing well in Europe. I also think our first 11 are good enough to do well. We just don't have the squad depth currently but few teams do and we would strengthen even more in the Summer if we knew we had secured European football - afterall it is exactly where I believe the owners and management want us to be. And, we are masters of succeeding ahead of plan.
  3. Recently we have been better against the top teams.
  4. It was an incredible save against Moses' mis-hit shot. Did amazing to reposition himself and time his leap to get just enough of a hand on it to tip it onto and over the bar. Look at it again, it really was an outstanding save. Testiment to the solidity of the rest of our defence that Davis had very little else to do for the second half. The whole team must have been knackered afterwards. Lipread Lambert on MOTD at full time saying something like '******* hell'. Lol. Reading are a Championship team. Davis is a Championship keeper. He will be fine if he plays.

  6. There was only one international class right back playing yesterday. Clyne has been outstanding this year and is consistent. He took the micky out of Coutinho repeatedly in the first half, right in front of Roy. He should play for England ASAP. Lallana did well but I think he's a bit like Le Tis - very few England managers are likely to give him a chance because they wont know how to play him. Also unlikely to fit the more rigid football played by England. Lambert - if he was a few years younger he might get a go. He's an incredibly effective player and will rise to whatever level is asked of him. He would certainly do a job for England but I don't think it will happen. J Rod is improving very rapidly with us. Wouldnt be at all surprised to see him play for England next year. I think he has the potential to be a seriously great player. Luke Shaw still has weaknesses in his game but his potential is frightening. A couple of seasons away from being good enough for England IMO although I suspect they'll fast-track him through and get him involved with the squad from next season, in fact I'll be amazed if they don't bring him into the fold next season. Just hope he keeps his head. Cork is one of the best English defensive mids around - incredible engine. Not sure England play with 2 holding DM's though. Limited technically though and not great going forward. If I were Roy I'd pick him over Carrick, Barry etc in the pure DCM role. Also, the partnership he has with Morgan makes him look great, unlikely to have such a good relationship with other players at National level where he is unused to them. No doubt about it, Roy would have been impressed by our lads yesterday, especially Clyne.
  7. Big boobie gal
  8. I think JRod was improving quickly under Adkins and that has simply continued. Massively improved player since the start of the season. I think he will become a fantastic player.
  9. On Saturday the full-backs were allowed to bomb on and leave Yoshi and Jose exposed to swift counter attacks. This is how we began the season under Adkins. Adkins and the coaches IMO worked wonders turning our defence into one of the Prem's meanest. This in part was due to the full-backs staying deeper and giving us a proper back four. Saturday was particularly disheartening because it looks like the good work has been undone. Saturday was also the highest I've seen our attacking 3 and 1 play when we are in attack. They weren't coming deep and giving options. The outcome was we resorted to lumping it forward which was meat and drink to QPR. Also worrying was the team's apparent reluctance to chage tactics when it was obvious we were getting nowhere. MP was tactically outclassed by Harry on Saturday and that's poor I'm afraid. If this emerging style of play is the way MP is going to play between now and the end of the season I think we will go down.
  10. Ref went over with a card and then changed his mind seemingly and just gave a drop ball. Odd. MP said Adam had a neck injury and was groggy. He'll be fine.
  11. With a full first team to choose from and 2 weeks rest how the hell can we go wrong. Come on you Saints - play well and we will surely win.
  12. JRod is going to be a seriously good player in the near future. I've been impressed with the way he had progressed with us. He will get a good run in the team under MP and the team works well with him as the leading forward and Lambo tucked in behind with a licence to roam.
  13. Haha, as if you would ever admit to the lad being anything other than a complete ****. Did you ever get to demonstrate your lust on her or are you over it now?
  14. Crouch and Kenwyn possibly? What do we think our current team are worth, assuming contracts weren't just about to end? 'Worth' = what you would expect someone to pay for them, not what the club would be willing to sell them for. Boruc - £3m Shaw - £15m Fonte - £3m Yoshida - £5m Clyne - £7m Cork - £6m Schneiderlin - £12m Lallana - £12m Lambo - £5m Punch - £5m Jay Rod - £12m = £85m Subs: Gaston - £14m Hoidveld - £1m Fox - £750k Ward-Prowse - £5m Mayuka - £3.5m Davis - £1.5m Gazza - £2m = £28m odd
  15. Just wait for next season when we're flying high in the league. A number of our players will then be called up. They're definately good enough. Just hope we can hold on to them all.
  16. Our style is beautifully suited to European football. I think we would do well the way Fulham did a few years back. If the squad isnt big enough or we wanted to avoid injury to our top top players, just play the youngsters and fringemeisters. I would rather that than not take part at all.
  17. Good enough for any team in the Prem IMO.
  18. MP is demanding a hell of a lot from the players and they are giving it there all. There will be no room for shirkers in this team. We are very lucky to have this quality football being played at our club. I think we are on the brink of something very exciting indeed. Probably just one or two good signings away from being able to achieve consistently good results.
  19. We are a couple of signings and about half a season away from something special. We have a very talented young team who will be a match for most next year and will have that little bit of Prem savvie we've lacked at times this year. The future is very exciting.
  20. I hate the way he gives away silly petulant free kicks. It gives possession away too easily and gives the other team a break from our pressing. He never looks up for it playing on the left of the AM3.
  21. Why the hell was J Rod left to track back for their second? Ugly flashbacks to earlier in the season before Luke Shaw came in.
  22. Gaston has one unfeasibly large hand
  23. I've followed this all season. It is a possibility but my hunch is we will fall down on one of the two criteria. For those of you saying we wouldnt want this anyway, I think the club would for numerous reasons. I personally would love it.
  24. Life is too short to over-analyse. We'll all be dead soon. Enjoy the ride IMHO of course.
  25. Beautifully put. Rarely see such good posts on here these days.
