Surman had run out of steam. He does seem to fatigue quicker and/or have a slower recovery rate than some of the other players and so I am not surprised that he ran out steam. I can understand bringing Wotton on although I really dont rate him as a player. For me it showed our lack of depth in the squad - we needed to make a substitution but out of 4 subs left we really didnt have anyone good enough. God only knows what would happen if we got some injuries.

I am concerned that we seem to play well against the teams higher up the table but really struggle with the othe teams fighting for their lives. That said if we play the same way as we did vs Ipswich and Preston we should be fine.

Played in the right way and with the right sort of coaching McGoldrick can be very good indeed. Like Nick I have expressed surprise at how so many people can't see what McGoldrick brings to the team. Fact is we all have different criteria for judging a player.

NO!!!!! Wotte seems like an arrogant and aggressive twit and our recent performances may be a result of him telling the players to prove us wrong. I say we continue to publicly dislike him so thatthe team's performances don't drop. In fact, let's keep with the hatred until we are promoted next year.

The whole team have been playing like men possessed recently! I like McGoldrick and from what I have seen he still looks the most likely in our current team to create chances. To answer the original post I think he has played very well for saints in the AMC role for the past 3 games. He has got stuck in and won 50/50 balls along with the other players and looks comfortable in the space between the oppos back four and midfield - he's had some good efforts on goal and made the first goal against Preston. To sum up a reply to your question - it's working. Leave the two physical experienced lads up front and let McGoldrick do his thing behind them in the space. I son't know how anyone can question his work rate, motivation and attitude over the past three games. Same goes for the others that had questionable attitudes before Wotte took over. Wotte compared the team to a boxer the other day - saying we will go out against any team from the start and try and knock them out before they hit us. This fighting talk has without question been transferred to the players performances (that and all the built up testosterone as a result of Wotte's nooky ban).

I like how they refer to Naarwich as the scum. I work in Pompey and have a colleague who supports Naarwich and one who supports Ipswich. There's plenty of scum taunts flying around here today!! I always felt we would never beat Ipswich with Burley in charge - his team and all that - glad to see that's all changed.

Make of this what you will - purportedly from the licensee of the CA: As the licensee of The Chapel Arms I would like to make a couple of points regarding this attack.Chris had been drinking in the pub prior to this attack and the atmosphere between the Cardiff fans and Home fans was jovial and in good spirits. The attackers were not "Fans" just sad little boys trying to play the big man and using football as their excuse. The attack wasn't football related and happened from behind which just shows the cowardice of these "big men". Chris and his friends were a pleasure to have and as a young man who has just returned from Afghanistan should be show a little respect not slated. Some of you are making hero's out of the cowards that did this, when the real hero is the young man who has just returned after serving OUR country! This backs up what the lads mate has said and backs up that it had nothing to do with football. Fact is we don't know what was said or done but the old bill will work it out in time. Too often you see people kicking off in town - the winner becomes a villain and the loser becomes the hero - not saying that is what has happened here mind because we dont know - but just look at any courthouse up and down the country and you'll see how it goes. Moral of the story - (unless you really don't give a fook) don't lose your senses by becoming intoxicated unless you are certain that you are in safe surroundings. I've always mainained that Lowe and cronies will not sell via administration because they could potentially lose out. I'm going to stick with that. Can someone say when we would have to go into admin by this season before the points deduction gets carried through to next season? I think that's relevant to this debate.

The club need to make this decision after the decision as to whether or not to go into administration. Not sure when in April they hope to know whether we have stayed up. Personally I see this going well into May.

Saw that on MOTD on Saturday - loved it. There's no doubt BT still has a soft spot for Saints fans. He played his best football for us and clearly adopted our spirit. If only Lowe could have found a way of increasing his wages without upsetting the whole apple cart.
