I like how they refer to Naarwich as the scum. I work in Pompey and have a colleague who supports Naarwich and one who supports Ipswich. There's plenty of scum taunts flying around here today!! I always felt we would never beat Ipswich with Burley in charge - his team and all that - glad to see that's all changed.

I've a sneaky feeling we could nick this one 2-1. Interested to see how the 4-4-2 works away from home. Should be a good game.

Cardiff fan dead/on life support machine...

Make of this what you will - purportedly from the licensee of the CA: As the licensee of The Chapel Arms I would like to make a couple of points regarding this attack.Chris had been drinking in the pub prior to this attack and the atmosphere between the Cardiff fans and Home fans was jovial and in good spirits. The attackers were not "Fans" just sad little boys trying to play the big man and using football as their excuse. The attack wasn't football related and happened from behind which just shows the cowardice of these "big men". Chris and his friends were a pleasure to have and as a young man who has just returned from Afghanistan should be show a little respect not slated. Some of you are making hero's out of the cowards that did this, when the real hero is the young man who has just returned after serving OUR country! This backs up what the lads mate has said and backs up that it had nothing to do with football. Fact is we don't know what was said or done but the old bill will work it out in time. Too often you see people kicking off in town - the winner becomes a villain and the loser becomes the hero - not saying that is what has happened here mind because we dont know - but just look at any courthouse up and down the country and you'll see how it goes. Moral of the story - (unless you really don't give a fook) don't lose your senses by becoming intoxicated unless you are certain that you are in safe surroundings. Take that from someone who had his skull fractured in a similar sounding incident several years ago. I've always managed to avoid trouble when I've been sobre. -

I've always mainained that Lowe and cronies will not sell via administration because they could potentially lose out. I'm going to stick with that. Can someone say when we would have to go into admin by this season before the points deduction gets carried through to next season? I think that's relevant to this debate.
-
The club need to make this decision after the decision as to whether or not to go into administration. Not sure when in April they hope to know whether we have stayed up. Personally I see this going well into May.

A decent crowd, good atmosphere and playing at home - you make your own luck - referees are only human.

Fund Raiser for the End of the Season

I would pay more than £20 to see Crouch bite a chunk out of Wilde's leg -

My money's on Rupes - he has been known to make women frightened just by being near them and his four-letter verbal tirades are not to be sniffed at. -
I remember that vividly and thought at the time how much restraint the saints fans were showing. Pretty sure that was in injury time and probably not far off last kick of the game.

Does anyone else wonder why Alpine went all the way to Austria just to log on to Saints Web all day every day?

Saw that on MOTD on Saturday - loved it. There's no doubt BT still has a soft spot for Saints fans. He played his best football for us and clearly adopted our spirit. If only Lowe could have found a way of increasing his wages without upsetting the whole apple cart.

Size was MOM for me. I've not enjoyed watching a centre back play this much since Killer was at his best. IMO the best CB we've had at the club since Killer was injured. Strong, aggressive, determined, pacey and good on the ball. I also thought Surman was a real class act once more. Looked really fired-up. Quality player. As others have said - you could make a good case for just about anyone for MOM - there were no poor performances.

He really is growing into the RB role. I think he's been one of our better and more consistent players for some time now. Knows when to get forward and when to stay back. His deliveries into the box from the wing is probably the best we've seen all season and it certainly helped that we had Euell up front on Saturday because we benefitted when those crosses were knocked down. For those not there on Saturday, he ran not only the RB slot but also the RM vs Preston, in the first half at least, because our midfield (Lallana in particular) were so narrow. Great engine. Still lacks pace though which shows him up against some of the quicker more skilful players - gladly there aint too many of them in the CCC.

who wants us to go into admin and/or wotte to fail
Junior Mullet replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
Yes to admin. The plc structure just aint working. We would have a better chance of selling the club if one person or group owns it - even if that person is Lowe perversely. I see admin as a necessary evil and can only see things getting worse until we stop being owned by the plc. Let's nip this in the bud and move on now. Yes to Wotte failing. Not really sure what constitutes success or failure frankly. I would like us to stay up as I dont see that preventing admin although it may delay it. Do I want him to succeed on a personal level? No - everything he has said and done so far has made him look like a tossser in my eyes. He's not a good enough manager for us and I want us to move him on. -
Hmmmm sounds kinky

Protest stage 2: February 21st, meeting at bargate again.

Two things about administration: timing and buyers 1. Timing. If we are going into administration this year it will take place before season ticket renewals. It makes no sense to get money in from ST sales only to then give it to creditors or fritter it away in the meantime - makes no sense to go into admin at all if that were the case. Can anyone say when ST renewals are due? Also, I have said for some time now that we have been putting out a team in anticipation for League 1 next year. Why else play the likes of Goeburn centre mid and continue to play Lancashire at CB when clearly neither of them are ready? We are preparing for the drop, no doubt about it. We would want to go into admin asap and before we are mathematically relegated to avoid having a points deduction in League 1 a la Leeds. 2. Buyers. I have no doubt that Lowe and chums would be getting their act together to make a bid. They have the upper hand in knowing when it will happen. However would I want to put my money with Lowe given his lack of success in recent times? I'm not so sure. There will be others looking to bid for us. IMO the only thing that has put people off bidding for us in recent years has been our disparate group of shareholders. Admin would provide a great opportunity for one person or consortium to buy the club without all the hassle and cost of buying shares from such a disparate group. On balance then I will continue to say that Lowe would rather take us down and down again than go into administration. This is based on my common sense view of proceedings rather than what I have heard. However I wouldn’t put it past Lowe and cronies to end up owning the whole club if we did go into administration - but that would surely make him even more unpopular with the fans so why would he do that? -
Mike Wilde..was it all worth it for you??
Junior Mullet replied to Channon's Sideburns's topic in The Saints
I would feel completely embarrassed if I were him. Very sad when he can't even sit in his regular seat and watch the team he still undoubtedly loves because he made bad decisions, initially in good faith and latterly in desperation I expect. Sad sad sad. -

This thread makes me laugh. Surely the stated intention of those that want Lowe to have nothing to do ith our club should be for him to sell his shares. He can come and go, as he has done, as a director but he must sell his shares and by implication those supporters of his must also sell their shares before he can properly go and leave us to move on. What will cause Lowe to sell his shares? Personally I think it will take an awful lot. I think he will take us down and down again before he finally gives in. Alternatively I think he would be bite someone's arm off if they made a ridiculously high offer for his (and his supporters') shares but who has such millions to simply throw away? There hasnt been anyone daft/rich enoughyet. How can those that want Lowe out help speed things up? Do not renew your ST and only go to games next year if you wish (go to away games instead). Poor ST sales will make Lowe etc and the bank sit up. Do not buy merchandise, do not buy memberships (why the hell would you want to anyway?), buy your pints and food from the pubs and shops before games etc. Hit them in the pocket. Unfortunately it may see us fall even lower down the league system in the short term but ultimately it may get rid of Lowe and his cronies. If we keep putting money into the club we are simply prolonging Lowe's involvement of the club. It's sad seeing this club slowly dying. Let's kill the cancer that is Lowe and quickly. Hopefully we can then start to see this club recover under new ownership. -
I hear Rupert is a fine shot.

Replace Monk with Mills and McDonald with Best and you have a decent team!
-
Rupes will be there, not so sure about Wilde though - not seen him for a while. I just can't see us scoring more than anyone we play right now. Saints 0 - PNE 2

I agree. Do you think Lowe would have made sure we'd have signed him if he was in charge at the time? Seems a Lowe kind of buy - young player with plenty of potential for raising transfer profit.
