  1. Link anyone?
  2. That is absolutely the reason IMO. Really blatant and patronising of the board too. Just hope for Michael's sake he doesn't get embroiled in all the crap that's going on at the moment.
  3. He's going to be kicked off the park
  4. Am I the only bugger plodding along with Eastleigh? Last night Rupert Lowe said that the parent club thing wasnt working and now I can loan most players from Saints ressies. Looking good for at least the playoffs after 3 years in the Blue Square South. Got some really good lads in. Come on you spitfires.
  5. Model professional. We can only hope his example rubs off on the youngsters.
  6. Well I hope he has something useful to do instead otherwise he'll just end up spending his time away from SMS pacing up and down wondering what he's missing.
  7. Oh dear, kangaroo court. Trial by newspaper? What happened to innocent until proven guilty? Let's wait for the facts before we judge him eh.... One fact is for sure though, he's played his last game in a saints shirt. Wonder what will come of our little thief now his loan is up.
  8. The fans certainly made a difference and the players responded accordingly. Not really surprising. Shame that the Reading fans outsung us for most of the game. I've stood in the Northam only once this season and noticed that a lot of the old faces have gone - a lot of the lads (myself included) that would instigate the Lowe out songs and a lot of the pro-saints chants - that's why I think it's quieter. Also feel that the Itchen corner has been a real loss in terms of saints crowd volume.
  9. It was indeed 4-2-3-1. If you're in any doubt just watch how they line themselves up at goalkicks. The 3 attacking midfielders were noticably not as stretched as they were early in the season when we played a more common form of 4-5-1. Hence Holmes etc were given much more freedom to roam rather than being asked to simply hug the touchline.
  10. Sorry Nick, it's too late. I don't see any way this season can be turned around now and today's team looked like we were preparing for Div 1 next year (and a struggle next year at that - face it every team in Div 1 would want to kick our asses). I've no doubt we're currently in talks to sell the last of our family silver. I think we all now owe it to the club we love to make our feelings known and hope that it brings about some sort of change (a new manager first of all - Jan is simply incapable of getting the best from these youngsters but I do ask myself who else would possibly be prepared to sacrifice their manhood and become Lowe's glove puppet). I realy do fear the level that Lowe will take us to if he stays in charge. Nick, I generally agree with your views expressed on here but I've now had enough - at this stage of the season carrying on in hope with the current set up would be akin to sticking my head in the sand.

  12. I am sitting within easy eye and ear shot of Lowe at the Reading and Man Utd games. I was just thinking of taking a banner with "RIP Saints" on it for the Man Utd game and aiming it in Lowe's direction along with a few non-obscene calls blaming Lowe for killing our club. Just wonder whether I'd get ejected though???? Any thoughts provided I wasnt threatening or obscene?????? I know it won't make any difference to goings on but it may make me feel better.

  14. Exactly what I thought. Kano and Goeburn and the others in the U.18's at the moment are no better than Conference level players at best but looks like we're getting them ready for a relegation scrap in Div 1 next year - FFS, why else would we be playing them? They are simply not good enough to justify playing in the first 11 unless that is our accepted fait. I really am worried about our future. Remember I have said a hundred times on here now that Lowe will sell the little family silver we have left and play the younger youngsters before he loses 'his' club via administration.

  16. We found £1.2m odd for Schneiderlin in the summer and I am sure that we can find around £2m for Lupoli. Lowe, the bank etc. will see it as a good investment because of the potential resale value. Whether £2m would be enough, who knows..... Whilst we don't have much money to play with at the moment, don't under-estimate our ability to do deals where there is good investment potential. We can't just sit things out waiting for our financial position to get better, we must trade out of it and that's exactly what Lowe has always been good at, albeit at the expense of the quality of the first team squad.
  17. Our defensive record with Cork playing CB is woeful! James is still a liability in terms of defending at RB, although he has improved massively in terms of getting forward. Personally I would play Cork at RB with a view to switching him to CM if necessary later in the game, only thing is we lose any attacking threat posed by James.
  18. A decent (not spectacular) player who will score goals wherever he plays. Fits the profile of the type of player we would like to sign - young, skilful, quick, coached in our style by the Arse etc. and has resale potential. Wouldnt be surprised at all if we put a bid in.
  19. I agree and add to that the fact that gaydarmac has put the club up for sale I reckon they are going to really struggle. The appointment of Adams was very silly, a poor cheap option that will hopefully backfire. Reminds me so much of when we promoted Wigley from within. Adams is a good coach, nothing more.
  20. We'll be playing Man Utd soon in an even more important cup match....bet Delgado wished he was still here, eh
  21. Relegation would not plunge us into admin at all. We would simply sell players with any decent sell-on value and play the even younger and even cheaper players in their place. By then we should also have shed the majority of the higher paid players at the club this year. Relegation would IMO consign us to years in Div 1 or lower but admin with Lowe in charge (at the risk of his investment) is simply not going to happen.
  22. I'm sure Cork will go to a Prem club in Jan. He's certainly good enough to step up although he's way off of Chelsea's standard given their buying power.
  23. These players are better than they are performing. They showed that in the second half on Saturday. Jan, stop molly-coddling these young men and kick them up the ass. I'm not sure the softly softly approach works. Can't see Ferguson, Keane, Cappelo etc allowing players to underperform so often. Effing get hold of em, for their sake, your sake and the club's.
  24. Our only real right winger is on loan at Sheff Utd. Our two proven goalscorers are also on loan to rival clubs. Welcome to the wibbly wobbly world of the Saints.
  25. With respect, it wasnt exactly a life-changing injury. I would expect him to take a few games to get fully fit and sharp like any player out with an injury. We really have missed him. He was our driving force early on in the season. He adds the passion, directness and quality we need to unlock defences. A fit Holmes for the rest of the season could, IMO, be the difference between staying up and relegation.
