  1. Yup the parks are nice but I still prefer Southampton Common at around 3.00am in Summer
  2. Lallana got into the spirit of Save Our Saints by charging £5 for a reach-around
  3. The pleasure on the Palace star's face was there for all to see as Rudi broke in his new strapon
  4. It is a good thing. We were facing relegation regardless of the administration situation. Don't think that's changed things on the pitch. So glad that we've finally got rid of the PLC structure and the main owners. Looking forward to the fresh start and the hope and optimism we can truly all gleen from that. Any hope whilst under Lowe was tempered by the fact that things were never going to be good enough and that the club would always perform within itself. I'm not sure when the good days will return but I believe they will come back sooner than they ever would under the Lowe/PLC structure. GM, I'm not sure many people are enjoying things the way they are here and now, but this is a transitional phase. I am excited by what the future may bring.
  5. Reserve judgement mate. You'd be happy plodding along would you? huh
  6. Right colour tie anyway
  7. Were you not aware of the Sales Agent Regulations then and their right to an indemnity/commission on termination? Tut tut for not taking legal advice in the first place. Prevention is so much better and cheaper than finding a cure. I hate to say it but for a grand or two you could have avoided this.
  8. It should not slow the process down at all. The process is actually fairly simple. The onus really is down to the bidders to due their due diligence and put a bid on the table with evidence that it is substantiated. If they don't do it in time they lose out. Simples. I can't see any problem with us getting this done within the requisite timescale, whatever that may be.
  9. He blames Crouch and the others who ousted him and their management of the club in the 2 years he was away. I thank Crouch and the others who ousted him for their mismanagement of the club in the 2 years he was away. History will show in years to come that the administration with the expected winding up of the plc was one of the club's best moments. I couldn't care less whether Lowe and others lose money as a result.
  10. You cant go around making up the rules after the event mate, there would be chaos. Trying telling any business that they should be penalised, pay tax, undo a deal because whilst they had had regard to the law and didnt infringe it they are morally wrong. ******. The FL should remove this loophole once Saints have been let off if they are really that bothered. Rules are rules - we should all have certainty that if we abide by them we will be fine. The PLC and the club Ltd co are two entirely separate people. It's the same as Gaydamack going bankrupt - that it quite different to Pompey fc going into administration. It astonishes me that people simply cant get to grips with this after all this time.
  11. I think the rules are based on going into administration rather than on insolvency. By the way we are insolvent on the basis that as soon as Barclays called time we were no longer able to repay our debts as they fell due.
  12. We will get away without getting a points deduction and the FL will vow to fill the loophole to stop similar cases happening in the future. Wishful thinking but I would like to think they would not be so arbitrary as to make the rules up after the event. It would go against basic principles of justice. Decision by 3.00pm. Watford 2 - 1 Saints. Flippin Darius Henderson will see to that if he plays.
  13. So the FA should set new rules to stop this happening in future. They should not make up new rules after the event purely out of perceived 'fairness'. This is a basic rule of law that we should be proud of in this country. Any penalty will be strongly contested by saints I'm sure. [FWIW and IMHO we will be relegated regardless of any points deduction this year and frankly who cares about next year - we're not going to be in a position to push for promotion from Div 1 anyway - too much work to be done. The team were so disappointing on Saturday - they never rose to the occassion.]
  14. Sort term pain for long term gain Benjii. The plc structure would have seen us fall lower in the longer term. These are exciting times.
  15. Motty was sat next to the administrator during the match. Salz was a row or two in front of Crouch. My money is on a Salz consortium. Loved the guys there in sunglasses on Saturday - were out before all the others after half time and had a look of "don't look at us, oh go on then". Comical. Lots of "city types" by the look of it were there on Saturday.
  16. Bit like Starwars....."I am your father" "Noooooooo"
  17. I totally agree with clapham - we must do what we can to fill the stadium for the rest of the season to: 1. Stay up 2. Help pursuade an investor and our creditors that we are a worthwhile investment
  18. If only it were that simple Adrian.
  19. Look folks..... SLH being insolvent and possibly going into administration is not much different, for example, if Roman Abramovich became bankrupt. It's the club's owner that has become insolvent not the club itself. Hence no points deduction on a strict interpretation of what we all understand but discounting any particular FA ruiles that we don't know about. It does naturally follow however that unless the club can find someone or some group with the money to buy the club and pay any club debts the club will become insolvent and then we really are fooked, the points deduction then becomes the least of our worries. I have faith that someone will now step in and buy the club. I just hope that it's not Rupert and cronies. We need a fresh start and this could be the moment we get rid of Lowe and co for good. I just have a sneaking suspicion that he will want to be part of any takeover.......
  20. Well, the next month or so should now be very interesting indeed. Anyone waiting on the sidelines for events to unravel will no doubt now be doing some very sums. I pray that we will see the back of Lowe as a part owner and director of this club very shortly. I also hope that ownership will ultimately end up in the hands of one or just a small few people.
  21. Bump...
  22. Nick, I have an alternative viewpoint to Clapham's. The club is an attractive proposition for investors, even in this economic climate. We have a really big catchment area, a compariably high proportion of reasonably affluent supporters, a good history (last few years aside), a good reputation, excellent stadium and facilities etc. So why have we failed to attract investors? The PLC structure makes it extremely difficult for one man to take over. Glazier succeeded at Man Utd after a long, painful and expensive battle. Are we really worth such a fight? I don't beleive that the main shareholders can agree on a reasonable price for their shares nor do I think they would all agree to sell anyway. Thus anyone sniffing around to date has been put off and frankly who would blame them when they can buy a club like Coventry from just one person. So much more simple. Administration would enable one person or consortium to purchase the club from one person, the administrator. It would be costly in the short term but long term it may see the end of Lowe etc which I personally want, even if we have to endure a little pain in the meantime. Modern football requires investment in order to copete at the higher levels. We need one person or a consortium with a common objective and the financial means to compete. The current plc structure doesnt allow that - who would pump money in when they have so little control and who are only going to derive a %'age (ie proportionate to their shareholding) of the benefit from that investment. I think investors would be buzzing around like flies round sh1t if we went into administration. I also think Rupert knows that full well. If that happened and he and his backers could not match their bids he would lose out. Given his apparent view on what his shares are worth he would lose out massively. There's also the slap in the face of one's ago if he were to lose out so publicly. Thus to me it's no surprise we have not gone into administration. I've always said that Lowe will see us relegated down the leagues until he really has no option but to call it a day (for fear of personal liability) rather than go into admin and risk his investment. The other thread about the plc hiving the club assets out are interesting indeed. I'm not sure how likely that is in practice but I have to say I feel that it is unlikely. However, such a scenario could see Lowe, Wilde etc actually increase their ownership and therefore control over the club - what a fecking disaster that could be!!!!! On the other hand it will undoubtedly make us a more attractive proposition to an investor compared to the current plc structure provided they meet the asking price. Interesting stuff indeed. None of us know what will happen but it is fun guessing. May I thank Clapham for replying to my request for info.
  23. Message to Clapham Saint and any other insolvency practitioners out there: If the club went into administration how easy would it be for Lowe and co to buy it in the form of a pre-pack or otherwise? Would the administrator have to shop around for a buyer or effectively advertise it for sale? What criteria does an administrator have to consider when selling a company like this? I think the answer to these questions will go a long way to answering some of the rumours and conjecture re admin or the lack thereof, including my own.
  24. Ken, I believe that attendances next season of around 10-12k will be the norm regardless of which leaue we are in unless the main shareholders sell to someone with the means and desire to invest and unless performances become a lot more consistent and we do well in the league. I know a fair few supporters like myself who are falling out of love with football in general and who will not be renewing season tickets next year. The club will also be fighting against the effects of recession in a city that has been and will continue to be fairly hard hit.
  25. Alpine, look at the people who stand to lose out via administration and then consider who are running the club. Then ask yourself whether it was any surprise. I have been saying for ages on here that Lowe and Wilde would not allow the club to go into administration, not for the club's sake but for their own sake. I have also said for a long time that I would like to see the club go into administration. I have been in a minority in holding these opinions because, I think, people fail to consider the business implications which is reasonable I suppose given that we are, on the whole, passionate supporters. The company will only go into admin when it suits the major shareholders. Until then I fear they will continue to take the club down the leagues.
