  1. Do we now own the ground without a mortgage? If so that will be a huge chunk we will save each month, together without having to pay interest on the overdraft. ML apparently likes to run his businesses without debt and that has to be good long term, if he has the funds to enable him to do just that, which he does. Surely someone on here has the figures to work out how much we were paying on the overdraft and stadium mortgage each year and then work out how many season tickets that equates to. You will also need to bear in mind the reduction in season ticket prices. I would expect wage costs to be roughly the same right now as some of the higher paid employees have left and others have arrived.
  2. OK, I resigned from Eastleigh - my job was well and truly done there. I am now the proud new manager of Kettering - currently suffering in mid-table Blue Square North. Aim to get them up first season and grow from there. COYK
  3. Club. The national team made up of over-payed, inflated ego mercenaries does not represent me. That said, I sometimes get a little excited at big tournaments when the whole country gets behind the team - but those feelings are very short lived and I reckon that would still be the case if we ever won anything.
  4. I would agree with that - one of the more naturally gifted players to come through our ranks in recent years but those injuries really haven't helped. He seems a determined little bugger though, so hopefully he will take his chance to impress when he can.
  5. Doesnt he remind you a little bit of Pearson in this respect? It's so nice to have a proper football man running the team.
  6. Almost as stupid as suggesting Sven would go to a Div 2 team. Point is we don't yet know how much ML will pump into saints this year. He's not exactly going to reveal his hand just yet is he? He will make sure we get any frees/loans etc before revealing his hand by making bids for players/offering contracts to high earners. Notts County have blown their cover. Anyone thinking of selling to them or joining them on a free now knows they have money and more importantly are prepared to spend it.
  7. Yup, some good ones on there. Just hope we have enough and good enough scouts to get the info we need on them, although I reckon AP is pretty well connected and should be able to get info on most people he is interested in. Just like Football Manager - even has the search facility to narrow your results down!
  8. 1. Eastleigh 2. Man Utd 3. Liverpool 4. Man City 5. Chelsea 6. Pompey 7. Middlesborough There aren't too many surprises to be honest with you. Leicester are in there as are Bristol City and Swansea were for a while. Everton and Villa are yo-yo teams. Saints are lower half Championship. They are Eastleigh's feeder club and I do my best to send them the brightest youngsters for experience for a season or two.
  9. He has no pace, nor accelration. He's not technically gifted either. Agreed he is very good in the air and seems to be improving his finishing. IMO Nile Ranger always looked the better prospect when I saw them play together. Interesting that Ranger recently scored for Newcastle in a pre-season game.
  10. Just ignore her guys - it's worked so well on other threads.
  11. Anyone who saw us last year, coupled with the fact that we have lost two of our brightest players and all the upheaval over the summer should not be surprised. Our new owner and AP certainly have their work cut out this year but from what I've seen and heard I think they are more than capable of doing a good job for us.
  12. I've just won the Prem with Eastleigh in the 2035/2036 season, along with the FA Cup and League Cup. I notice it took you longer to win the Prem title, even with a better team to begin with. ;0) Frankly my team are so sh*t-hot right now I might just give up and begin a new game with an even smaller BSS or BSN team.
  13. Serious Question: if they stop memberships this year, who will be able to buy a pint from the members bar accessable along the Kingsland? I seem to recall the beer was better in there. I had a pint of bitter from the Itchen on Saturday afternoon and trust me it wasnt great. I could imagine it had been there some time. My trumps smelt of dog poo well into Sunday afternoon.
  14. Brilliant. He'd be left with nobody though other than, perhaps, KD at a push.
  15. One of the weirdest posts ever on here, I reckon and weirder still I read it all.
  16. He's the new Beckham dontchano
  17. Paraded....like a show pony I hope - with a bit in his mouth and on all fours with a very small child on his back.
  18. Mills has said over and over that he is not into football. Is he fibbing so as not to isolate anyone other than Saints fans? Genuine question.
  19. Anyone know where he is - I need to meet him
  20. YESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!! Come on Hoff, you know it makes sense. This would be the best news ever.
  21. So long "Coca Cola kid"
  22. I drank 19 red bulls on my stag do recently and I don't even like the cr@p. They'll do for me.
  23. I wonder why you think Patterson has finishing ability. From seeing him play quite a bit for the ressies, the U 18's and a few times for the first team I would say quite the opposite. I agree he is a team player and a very professional attitude to the game but he is woefully slow and lacks creativity and skill on the ball. I don't see him being anything more than a lower league player flicking balls on to a nippy centre forward at best, in a few years time. Just out of interest I would like to know what you have seen of Patterson other than his attitude that makes him a good goalscorer. (for the record I would have a 100% perfect attitude if I got to play in the red and white but doubt I would ever score for the team). I would love to be proved wrong however because he seems like a good lad. Now if you were suggesting you were looking forward to having Stern John back in place of DMG I would see your point.
