I am sitting within easy eye and ear shot of Lowe at the Reading and Man Utd games. I was just thinking of taking a banner with "RIP Saints" on it for the Man Utd game and aiming it in Lowe's direction along with a few non-obscene calls blaming Lowe for killing our club. Just wonder whether I'd get ejected though???? Any thoughts provided I wasnt threatening or obscene?????? I know it won't make any difference to goings on but it may make me feel better.

Exactly what I thought. Kano and Goeburn and the others in the U.18's at the moment are no better than Conference level players at best but looks like we're getting them ready for a relegation scrap in Div 1 next year - FFS, why else would we be playing them? They are simply not good enough to justify playing in the first 11 unless that is our accepted fait. I really am worried about our future. Remember I have said a hundred times on here now that Lowe will sell the little family silver we have left and play the younger youngsters before he loses 'his' club via administration.

We found £1.2m odd for Schneiderlin in the summer and I am sure that we can find around £2m for Lupoli. Lowe, the bank etc. will see it as a good investment because of the potential resale value. Whether £2m would be enough, who knows..... Whilst we don't have much money to play with at the moment, don't under-estimate our ability to do deals where there is good investment potential. We can't just sit things out waiting for our financial position to get better, we must trade out of it and that's exactly what Lowe has always been good at, albeit at the expense of the quality of the first team squad.

Our defensive record with Cork playing CB is woeful! James is still a liability in terms of defending at RB, although he has improved massively in terms of getting forward. Personally I would play Cork at RB with a view to switching him to CM if necessary later in the game, only thing is we lose any attacking threat posed by James.

A decent (not spectacular) player who will score goals wherever he plays. Fits the profile of the type of player we would like to sign - young, skilful, quick, coached in our style by the Arse etc. and has resale potential. Wouldnt be surprised at all if we put a bid in.

Saints 4 points above relegation. Portsmouth 5

I agree and add to that the fact that gaydarmac has put the club up for sale I reckon they are going to really struggle. The appointment of Adams was very silly, a poor cheap option that will hopefully backfire. Reminds me so much of when we promoted Wigley from within. Adams is a good coach, nothing more. -
We'll be playing Man Utd soon in an even more important cup match....bet Delgado wished he was still here, eh

Relegation would not plunge us into admin at all. We would simply sell players with any decent sell-on value and play the even younger and even cheaper players in their place. By then we should also have shed the majority of the higher paid players at the club this year. Relegation would IMO consign us to years in Div 1 or lower but admin with Lowe in charge (at the risk of his investment) is simply not going to happen.

I'm sure Cork will go to a Prem club in Jan. He's certainly good enough to step up although he's way off of Chelsea's standard given their buying power.

The table dosen't lie Jan,wake up, please.

These players are better than they are performing. They showed that in the second half on Saturday. Jan, stop molly-coddling these young men and kick them up the ass. I'm not sure the softly softly approach works. Can't see Ferguson, Keane, Cappelo etc allowing players to underperform so often. Effing get hold of em, for their sake, your sake and the club's. -
With respect, it wasnt exactly a life-changing injury. I would expect him to take a few games to get fully fit and sharp like any player out with an injury. We really have missed him. He was our driving force early on in the season. He adds the passion, directness and quality we need to unlock defences. A fit Holmes for the rest of the season could, IMO, be the difference between staying up and relegation.
-
I expect we are playing him because we have a relatively cheap option to buy or at least know Sheff Utd would be willing to sell cheaply. That's why we are playing him in preference to our own - he's as good as our own if we want him. IMO Robertson is not the player we need. His balance seems all wrong and he's not got much trickery or ability to beat defenders. He also seems to e on a different wavelength to the rest, which is not surprising given the rest have been playing together for years. The man for me up front is White.

Last night our problem was that we were too slow and methodical in our attacks and consequently we lost momentum and allowed Palace to regroup and form 2 banks of 4. We needed to break quicker, get men forward quicker, get players running at theirs and get the ball in the box quicker. This meant we were left playing the ball sideways until we lost patience and tried going through the middle. It was like a training game at times - 6 attackers trying to break down 4 midfield and 4 defenders. Surprise surprise the well-oiled and more experienced defensive side won. We simply had no plan B - it was like banging our heads against a brick wall! Come on Saints, more urgency and more direct football is needed to mix up our 'crab football'. let's also stop trying to play through the middle every time - it's too difficult against some teams like Palace, managed by old pros liek Warnock. Last night was naiive in the extreme. If I can see it along with a handful of others on here, why can't Jan?

Jan Being Interviewed - Some Lack Motivation

James was my Saints MOTM last night until the mistake. I thought that it was his best game in a saints shirt up to that point - good attacking runs and looked our main threat IMO. -
who has been the been best manager since Strachan
Junior Mullet replied to The Fat Controller's topic in The Saints
Harry was the best manager we had since WGS, by far. Not the right man for us though - he'd never work well with Lowe and he had to work within a tight wage structure - something he didnt have to do at Poopey. The best manager FOR US, was Sturrock. I do wonder what would have happened had he not been forced out. -
This is down to the manager for me. Patterson played the way he always plays - he's not the best physical specimen and can look languid etc at times. I've also said elsewhere that he's a year off of a first team place. As for those of you that boo our young players, you really are sad individuals. I have never booed one of our own players and never would - I don't see what good it could do. However, some people on this thread do seem to have taken things a little too sensitively. Football players get called this that and the other week in and week out - by their own fans (sad indictment of modern football but a fact unfortunately) and especially by the oppo fans. They have to grow thick-skinned quickly and react in the best way possible - by helping to win games - the true mark of an excellent player. Let's encourage our players but at the same time let's not expect them to be kept wrapped in wool. We lost on Saturday because as a TEAM we werent good enough. let's not blame one or two individuals - thats' just stupid.

IMO Blackstock is just the sort of penalty box poacher we could do with right now.

Should only be a short second piece then, I hear they are bangers and mash and Busty Brenda's Boll0ck Bonanza

FFS, would someone just go on the Charlton fansite and ask someone for a picture, you bunch of stalkers

Hope we get Charlton away next round of the cup.

You absolutely couldnt make it up, could you!! Still makes me laugh. I just love the fact that Brennan continued to defend it and say how much time and effort he put in...if it were me I would say I knocked it up in a few minutes to try and save credibility, but hey! I think we should get Brennan to do the Le Tis statue in a few years time. I'd willingly chip in.
