Have you really got nothing better to do than rip on the achievements of the most successful F1 driver in history just because he’s not having a great season?? Lionel Messi was pretty shite for PSG last year wasn’t he. Maybe is was the rest of the Barcelona team that were good not him? You clearly don’t like the guy, so why bother posting about him in the first place?
-
Ah ok that makes sense. Real shame for us but not surprising given her performances last season
-
Do we need to have all players on pro contracts now? Just wondering whether some could have been retained on semi-pro if that was their preference? Losing Ware in particular seems a big blow.
-
Retained list is out: https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/2022-06-16/southampton-fc-women-retained-list-2022 Some good players leaving, guessing they don’t want the gig full time

https://twitter.com/WhoScored/status/1536338849814618114?s=20&t=O5KoKRDFvesHDx713Wbuyg Thought this was interesting. No-one would claim Ings had a great season, but he was still able to directly contribute to more goals than anyone else in the Villa side last season
-
Depends whether you consider him coming back as him having his tail between his legs. Did Davies come back like that? Did Channon? Plenty of people return to a previous employer later in their career. He did what he thought was best and, potentially, things didn't work out how he hoped. No shame in that
-
By the same token, I'm not sure what Ings needs to be humble about. He didn't kick up a fuss or force his way out, he simply ran down his contract so we decided to sell. There are plenty of players who left on bad terms, but I don't see Ings as one of them.
-
This basically. It was the right move for all parties. Glad he’s doing well and hope it continues
-
Hopefully he works out better than Gunn did, however we will desperately need an experienced centre back in front of him
-
He’s a solid player, who was joint third in both our goals & assists totals last season. I get why people aren’t that enthused but we should be slowly strengthening the team so he becomes a squad player, rather than a starter. He’s a good option to have
-
Pleased to say that some of the earlier comments (including my own) haven’t aged well! Absolute hammering we’ve given Essex today! May not make finals day but a good couple of performances recently
-
Vince back opening and we pile the runs on! Good stuff
-
Any team ever lost every game before?? Looks like we’re going to have a crack at it this year…. Can’t say I agree with Vince’s captaincy being part of the issue though. He’s taken us to 3 or 4 finals days and won the hundred last year.
-
Bowled 4 overs for 20 runs the other night. He gets a lot of stick but has put in a lot of cracking performances for us over the years
-
T20 starts for Hants tonight. For those who don’t know virtually every game is being streamed on YouTube this year by the home team of each game. Basically every game not on sky is being streamed Hants started brilliantly! 3 wickets already!
-
Brilliant news! Really looking forward to seeing how we get on next season!
-
Thanks for their service, but have to feel this is the right decision. Would like Ralph gone as well, but will trust the club in this
-
Personally doubt this is true, but if it is it can only mean sacking RH is too expensive…. Doesn’t make sense that he remains if everyone else goes
-
Worst thing about this is how utterly desensitised I am to our gutless displays at the moment… Please go Ralph, along with the rest of the coaching staff. Total reboot needed
-
All speculative, but Frank may well see it as Brentford pretty much reaching their ceiling and want to get out whilst his stock is highest - look at how Sheff Utd crashed 2nd season. Also given our new owners and some of our links to ex Brentford personnel he may well see us as the next step he can take. There is definitely scope to grow the Saints team atm! Not definite he’d want to come by any stretch but certainly not out of the question
-
JWP tbf has improved massively during his time here, albeit some may claim that’s in spite of Ralph rather than because of…. Cannot think of any others though. KWP looked good as soon as he came through the door
-
Are you really insinuating there were no highs under Puel?? The semi against Liverpool? The final? When we spanked Leicester (I think) 4-1 away? beating Milan at home and the performance in the San Siro! Tbh the main problem with Puel was his setup worked better away from home. Seem to recall we had some great performances away that year, at home not so much 😂

The Minsk Memorial Thread (and continuation of his work)
Barsiem replied to Minsk's topic in The Saints
Tbf we’ve got Liverpool at home next, so a good chance to improve our head to head GD as we only won 1-0 last year
