All speculative, but Frank may well see it as Brentford pretty much reaching their ceiling and want to get out whilst his stock is highest - look at how Sheff Utd crashed 2nd season. Also given our new owners and some of our links to ex Brentford personnel he may well see us as the next step he can take. There is definitely scope to grow the Saints team atm! Not definite he’d want to come by any stretch but certainly not out of the question

JWP tbf has improved massively during his time here, albeit some may claim that’s in spite of Ralph rather than because of…. Cannot think of any others though. KWP looked good as soon as he came through the door

Are you really insinuating there were no highs under Puel?? The semi against Liverpool? The final? When we spanked Leicester (I think) 4-1 away? beating Milan at home and the performance in the San Siro! Tbh the main problem with Puel was his setup worked better away from home. Seem to recall we had some great performances away that year, at home not so much 😂

Tbf we’ve got Liverpool at home next, so a good chance to improve our head to head GD as we only won 1-0 last year -
Cardiff missed a penalty at 2-0 as well. We were very comfortable and tbh Cardiff were poor. Ware POTM for me. Not sure if it’s been mentioned but travel coaches for the game against Wolves are only £5 for adults, £2.50 concessions and free for under 10s. Great gesture from Virgin Media as sponsors https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/2022-04-29/ticket-and-travel-details-southampton-fc-vs-wolves-national-league-play-off-2021-22

It’s hilarious how obsessed he is with JWP joining Liverpool

Temp bans leading to full bans if they can’t sort themselves out for me. Tbh why should the mods have to police some of the childish bickering on here? Albeit like I say I get on fine by just using the ignore function
-
Without wishing to blame the mods, I can’t help but feel stricter moderation of these people (i.e. temporary bans) would help matters, albeit given these are paying members we’re talking about I guess there would be extreme reluctance to do this. in this forums favour the ignore function works very well!

Technically he is English (born in Leeds). He could have chosen to represent England, but as he’s said he never really considered it. Fair play to him for that, even if it’s a shitter for us.

Going very well so far! Bit miffed at Brown’s debut innings for us though. He came in with us needing 3-3.5 an over to get a final batting point, and proceeded to plod along at a strike rate of 0.29 so we fell 15 runs short! Still can’t complain too much. Hopefully there’s enough in the pitch to get 10 wickets for the win

I’ve noticed the Echo has really upped the amount of articles about Saints this week as a result of a new initiative they’ve launched called SaintsPlus, which is clearly an attempt to emulate the Athletic’s approach: https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/20028048.daily-echo-launches-saintsplus---new-home-next-level-saints-coverage/ Any feedback on the initiative so far? It would be good if we can have some quality reporting from a local source, but I guess the DE will need additional subscribers to maintain the coverage in the long term

https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/20035754.new-mccarthy-contract-confirmed-fa-agent-fees-report---southampton-low-spenders/ Sorta confims what we already sorta knew

Obama was heavily critical of NATO members not paying 2% of GDP for defence as well tbf. Not sure about earlier presidents but suspect they would have criticised it as well. It’s something all NATO members agreed too but very few actually met

Cup final against Huddersfield is at Damson Park in Solihull apparently! Sunday 24th April. Bit of a trek but equidistant for Udd’s as well so can’t be helped I suppose
-
Tbf to him he’s paid to write articles for a subscription service. His employers probably wouldn’t be too enamoured if he gave all his info away for free on here
-
Unchanged team please. Rest players at the weekend if needed - not tonight!

What should Saints do if they get a big offer for Tino in the summer? Say £60mish, which I know is high but Man U paid £50m for AWB so possible imo. If he keeps progressing as he has it’d likely be a no brainier for Chelski to buy him back in 18 months, even if just as a squad played behind James. Is having him for another season worth potentially losing £20m in sales that could be reinvested? Esp given with have KWP already? Of course he may refuse to go back to Chelski or pick another club, but I would wager he’d want to go back and prove himself there over most other teams that may buy him.

Could be a brilliant signing tbf. Averages over 40 with the bat throughout his career and over 50 last season. Are batting has been shite for years so hopefully he’ll help us immensely on that front

Probably not what you’re looking for but you can stream the Xbox version of fm20 and play on any spec pc via game pass, assuming your internet is good enough (10mbs or so)

Only player I can think who played for both in recent times in Michael Lumb... Any others?

I’d almost forgotten about that game. It’s rare I get angry at football anymore, but that game was definitely one of those occasions! -
I dunno mate… I seem to recall we got taken over by a billionaire when we were in the lower leagues and in administration

This feature has always been there for me as well. What’s more interesting is that two of the most prolific posters on here seem to have discovered it at exactly the same time…

Devastating... RIP Greg
