  1. James Fuller has been outstanding this season! Who saw that coming??
  2. Redmond got the 2nd most assists for us last season, whilst not playing a lot at the end of it. He's frustrating, but unless we get some creative players in we should keep him IMO
  3. There is no way we're spending £20m on a RB....
  4. If any young player goes to Newcastle it’s going to be for the money and because they’re not good enough for either Chelski or Citeh’s youth teams. They have little to no academy rep to speak of, and they way they are supposedly spending money it’s hard to see a solid pathway to first team football. All that said, if you’re offered a 3 year contract at £6.5k a week you’d be hard pressed to turn it down. Hopefully he stays but understandable if he does take the money
  5. It’ll be Bednarek - pretty certain he’s the only one likely to raise any kind of fee (Salisu excepted, but hopefully we’re keeping him) I do think Bednarek is a good defender, but he doesn’t particularly suit how we play, so probably for the best for all parties if he did move on
  6. Delap it is then!
  7. I agree but its also possible that it’s harder to do deals for established pros early in the transfer window. Once other teams get their signings over the line it may create possibilities for a move for fringe players at the bigger clubs who can give us a bit of experience
  8. Do you run that account? You're always very quick to repost on here. Regardless, thanks for your efforts in posting these links on here. I'm sure I'm not the only one who looks out for them
  9. Definite 5 for me. We've had some great runs, but the percentage of completely inept performances he's presided over is a disgrace, and conceding 60+ goals each year is awful as well. Let's hope the new coaching setup can address that as RH certainly doesn't seem able too
  10. Don't see why it would unless we were underhand and disrespectful to Citeh in appointing him? We don't dislike Liverpool for the way Sadio Mane or Lambert left. We dislike them for their actions in poaching VVD & Lallana!
  11. Fwiw I love the women's game. Can understand why some people don't, but cannot understand why they don't ignore and move on (notwithstanding the clickbait point, but the solution there is to ignore websites that engage in that practice). There is a huge amount of media coverage of the men's game so it's not like you're missing out by the women getting more coverage.
  12. I don’t think you’re as subtle as you think you are… comments you’ve made asking if “he was only racing his teammate because he has the best car” and how “if he’s so good, why can’t he win in a shit car” are the typical tactic of people who have an agenda against Hamilton or any other of the greats. It should be obvious to anyone that the person with most wins, most poles and joint most world championships must be pretty damn good.
  13. Have you really got nothing better to do than rip on the achievements of the most successful F1 driver in history just because he’s not having a great season?? Lionel Messi was pretty shite for PSG last year wasn’t he. Maybe is was the rest of the Barcelona team that were good not him? You clearly don’t like the guy, so why bother posting about him in the first place?
  14. Ah ok that makes sense. Real shame for us but not surprising given her performances last season
  15. Do we need to have all players on pro contracts now? Just wondering whether some could have been retained on semi-pro if that was their preference? Losing Ware in particular seems a big blow.
  16. Retained list is out: https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/2022-06-16/southampton-fc-women-retained-list-2022 Some good players leaving, guessing they don’t want the gig full time
  17. https://twitter.com/WhoScored/status/1536338849814618114?s=20&t=O5KoKRDFvesHDx713Wbuyg Thought this was interesting. No-one would claim Ings had a great season, but he was still able to directly contribute to more goals than anyone else in the Villa side last season
  18. Depends whether you consider him coming back as him having his tail between his legs. Did Davies come back like that? Did Channon? Plenty of people return to a previous employer later in their career. He did what he thought was best and, potentially, things didn't work out how he hoped. No shame in that
  19. By the same token, I'm not sure what Ings needs to be humble about. He didn't kick up a fuss or force his way out, he simply ran down his contract so we decided to sell. There are plenty of players who left on bad terms, but I don't see Ings as one of them.
  20. This basically. It was the right move for all parties. Glad he’s doing well and hope it continues
  21. Hopefully he works out better than Gunn did, however we will desperately need an experienced centre back in front of him
  22. He’s a solid player, who was joint third in both our goals & assists totals last season. I get why people aren’t that enthused but we should be slowly strengthening the team so he becomes a squad player, rather than a starter. He’s a good option to have
  23. Pleased to say that some of the earlier comments (including my own) haven’t aged well! Absolute hammering we’ve given Essex today! May not make finals day but a good couple of performances recently
  24. Vince back opening and we pile the runs on! Good stuff
  25. Any team ever lost every game before?? Looks like we’re going to have a crack at it this year…. Can’t say I agree with Vince’s captaincy being part of the issue though. He’s taken us to 3 or 4 finals days and won the hundred last year.
