Have to disagree re Targett. He needed 1st team football to develop and took 18months as a 1st choice villain to become a good premier league fullback. We got great money for him as well to reinvest in the squad. Now we could do with him but it was the right decision to let him go when we did Ryan has been a great servant - sad to see him go

I think people on here need a bit of a reality check here... Che has 8 goals this season and only 28 other players in the premier league have more to date. In previous years in the top flight we would have loved a second striker who scored as many as that. His link up play is often superb as well. If he was our main goal scorer yes it’d be a problem but as second to ings he’s more than good enough for us. Our main issue for me is lack of goals from midfield, where you would only back jwp and Armstrong to score 5+ a season, and jwp only does that because of his free kick ability

The best example for me was the Brighton game. We went in at half time level and in the ascendency. Potter changed formation at half time and Brighton bossed the game in the second half. I get what people are saying about lack of quality but are we really saying we have less than Brighton FFS.... Ralph needs to be able to switch to another style and react

Someone may have mentioned this already but I think Gerrard from Rangers may be a good option. He’s done really well there and would be able to attract talent like Koeman did. Whether he’d be interested is up for debate - more challenging league but lack of funds obvs works against us. I’d like Potter as well, but we’re hardly a big step up from Brighton at this point... Lampard isn’t a bad shout but I’d hope for a little better

Everton fans are being quite funny on Twitter on the mo talking about how they’re “the peoples club” as the club put out a statement saying they are against the proposals.... conveniently forgetting the reason Everton’s owners will be against it is because they weren’t invited to be a part of it 😂

Nah... he’s a quality manager but the style of play is crap. I’d rather us play entertaining football even if it means we don’t finish as high up in the league. Be nice to some entertaining football full stop sometime soon though

I think the enforced break for injury has helped him recover from being a bit fatigued. Great to see some form from him today As for his contract, I think it’s clear he’ll see who comes in for him in the summer. If it’s someone good he’ll go, if not he’ll sign a new contract I expect.

Why aren’t you talking amount?? That’s the very definition of better in football terms. Would you rather a 10 goal a season striker who only scores screamers, or a 20 goal striker who only scores tap-ins???

Is JWP a £50m player? No Should we be selling someone like JWP for less than £50m? No! JWP is great for teams like us. He’s a very good Premier League player, but is not good enough to make the first team of the top 6/7. We should never sell for anything other than a stupid offer, as for the money we raise from his sale otherwise won’t be enough to effectively replace him.

I think we’re about Ralph’s level tbh, which suits us as long as he’s happy to stay. He’s shown in recent weeks he’s not particularly adaptable and cannot handle certain situations as a coach. However when it’s working we play great football and can punch above our weight.

Do you really believe ings is playing shite deliberately in order to lower his transfer price?? 😂 You do realise the Euros are this summer and this is arguably Ings last change to get to a international tournament? He’s not going to throw that chance away just so Spuds will sign him... Ings is out of form no question, but I’ve no doubt he’s trying his best to play well and bang in the goals. Where did you hear the £10m? Regardless if he did well we were never going to get him for that price and Liverpool never sell players cheap. That’s why it needed to be an option, and if he does well Liverpool will want to keep him anyway. Their fans are keen to see him have a proper run out for them
