  1. I suspect it was the opposite tbh… it hurt ticket sales so they scrapped it and just hope away fans who buy in the home end are sensible. Dunno why it’s hard for these idiots not to advertise they are in the wrong end though
  2. We won! Another cracking result
  3. Scored again today to kickstart Burnley’s recovery from 2-0 down away at Sunderland to win 2-4. 5 in 13 games for them, which I have to say surprises me a little. It’s Good to have a player doing so well on loan and hopefully he’ll come back much more prepared for a first team role here
  4. I would think Frank is a realistic target if they did want him. Villa are a much bigger club than Brentford and general give managers money to spend

    Che Adams

Adams had a huge strop when Djneppo didn't square it to him at the end of the game and took a shot himself, so guessing it was about that. It Was a brilliant performance from Che yesterday. If he plays like that he'll easily clear 10 goals this season. More please!
  6. Absolute nonsense. You think our squad is weaker than Bournemouth's? Fulham's? Brentford's? Leeds'? Forest's? All of those?? Yes we are missing a top striker but so are many teams in the PL. It isn't an excuse for being utter dross every week. Brighton, who lets face it are a good model for us at the moment, last season had a top scorer of 8 goals. Less than JWP and only one more than Che. What's the difference? They had an effective manager who knew how to play to their strengths. We have a manager who only knows how to play effectively one way, and it is a way we are largely ineffective at playing. Yes he's trying other ways of playing, but he cannot actually access our team and consider how best to set them up, and then communicate that to the team. It's been 4 years, the buck stops with him, he needs to move on. For both his & Saints sake. I guess he's waiting for the payoff tbh, as it can't be any fun for him being at the club ATM.
  7. Being completely honest I would find it more embarrassing if we put first team players into a game like this.
  8. Tbh it’s hilarious Poopey are taking this game so seriously. The Hampshire senior cup FFS
  9. Bournemouth seem to be doing ok with a caretaker manager, so unsure why we would be so anti it. Any sort of boost to the mood the club can give at the moment would be welcome, and I see little point in clinging on to Ralph when morale within the squad is so low
  10. Fcuking hell... You haven't thought this argument through have you. Ralph is the third longest serving manager currently employed in the PL
  11. Comment directly above mine says he's got the best out of the squad he's had available. Also Seen claims he's performed miracles keeping us in the PL. Both assertions completely wrong IMO.
  12. Lots of people claiming Ralph did brilliantly with the squads he has had but I am not sure I buy it. Great start and some great runs but so many poor performances. Even if the squad was poor (and I don't think at any point we've had one of the three worst squads in the league) a good manager should be able to instill some drive and bottle, and that's the biggest thing we've missed the last two seasons. I can take losing, I cannot take going down without a fight I guess we'll see in hindsight
  13. You do realise he could resign at any point right??
  14. I suppose it depends if you think Ralph is underachieving or not. If you do then Saints could be an attractive role for someone like Frank. But yeah he's got a good thing at Brentford so may well not touch us with a barge pole! We need a change though... Please go Ralph
  15. I do feel we’re missing a little perspective here. In the CC table we actually have scored the second highest batting bonus points for the year (albeit 11 points behind Surrey, who obvs bat at the Oval). Only two teams in the league scored more batting points than bowling, which perhaps is a damning indication of the quality of batsmen in the game right now when considering you can get 5 batting bonus points and only 3 bowling. This is obviously skewed by how early and late in the summer the CC games have been played as well. Yes the batting is not quite there, and yes the last two games are a very disappointing end to a fabulous season. Hopefully we can get a very solid opener in and get that little bit better for next year.
  16. Apparently today’s debacle has cost us £145k in prize money!!
  17. Final game of the season then today. Disappointing team selection tbh.... I would have hoped Prest at least was given a chance, but we've put out a full strength team
  18. I stand corrected - Vince was better than I thought, though by his standards that’s a poor average for the season. His captaincy has been spot on though. We’re very lucky to have him
  19. Fair play to Surrey, they've been a juggernaut this season. I always felt we were a quality opener short of a championship quality team, but we're slowly getting there batting wise having added Brown this season. Vince has had a terrible year with the bat unfortunately. We've had a bit of bad luck. The Essex loss was a bit farcical, and not being able to play Surrey at home was unfortunate. We've had a great year overall though. Winning T20, semis in 50 overs and hopefully 2nd in the CC. Congrats to the boys, hopefully we can go one better next year.
  20. Great morning for us. Kent 5 down and Surrey have lost their top 3 for 80odd.
  21. I’m sure there was one on the transfer window thread that got over 30. It was the guy who posted a meme trying to summon mlg back to saintsweb if someone knows how to find it
  22. It would take an amazing turnaround for Surrey to win from here, albeit if any team is capable of it it's probably them. Anyone know whether Abbot is fit? He obviously missed the last day of our last game but I cannot find any info about whether he's likely to be out for a while or not
  23. If you watch our season highlights from the time Anders played for us you'd see he was involved in the majority of the goals we scored, but yes actually watching Saints at the time you'd hardly ever notice him.
  24. Northants following the same script against Surrey as against us so far. Started really well with the bat, then started to collapse. Gone from 77-0 to 94-3
  25. Suspect that's more to do with him being an introvert than being moody tbh. That's the sort of thing that would be my worst nightmare!
