This basically. We replaced the coaching staff, which was obviously the cheaper option, but we should have bitten the bullet and paid him off then. Tbh I think Ralph has been waiting to be pushed. He should walk really if he feels he’s out of ideas, but I guess not many would walk away from that sort of payoff…

Some in depth analysis on his impact is on the Echo website. some of the Echos coverage under their SaintsPlus scheme is pretty good! https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/23099854.maitland-niles-showing-saints-aim-permanent-deal/

Are these figures are correct? Have Brentford really spent £300m on players? Or has someone arbitrarily assigned values to each teams players?
-
Ok, obviously missed your earlier point. Yes agreed it’s coaching and management. Will be interested to see how Brighton fair longer term without Potter
-
We’ve improved our squad since last season as well btw. Better GK, much better centre backs and Lavia as well. I won’t include Mara or Aribo in that list as the juries out on them. We also didn’t loose any key players, whereas Brighton did Brighton is a great comparison for us as they do not have a good PL striker either, yet have managed to look so much better a team than us over the last couple of years.

Finished 1-0. From what I saw of the 2nd half it was a scrappy game with very little quality. But another solid win!
-
1-0 after 60mins. Pusey with the goal!
-
Bit disappointing to see him written off by some already. What all players need is confidence and a run of games, and I would argue it’s easier to play well in the PL after a great season in the Championship than by being a bit part player in a struggling PL side.
-
Fyi for all interested - our next game (Sun 30th Oct at 12pm) can be watched live on the FA Player. Available as an app or via web
-
I suspect it was the opposite tbh… it hurt ticket sales so they scrapped it and just hope away fans who buy in the home end are sensible. Dunno why it’s hard for these idiots not to advertise they are in the wrong end though

We won! Another cracking result

Scored again today to kickstart Burnley’s recovery from 2-0 down away at Sunderland to win 2-4. 5 in 13 games for them, which I have to say surprises me a little. It’s Good to have a player doing so well on loan and hopefully he’ll come back much more prepared for a first team role here

I would think Frank is a realistic target if they did want him. Villa are a much bigger club than Brentford and general give managers money to spend
-
Adams had a huge strop when Djneppo didn't square it to him at the end of the game and took a shot himself, so guessing it was about that. It Was a brilliant performance from Che yesterday. If he plays like that he'll easily clear 10 goals this season. More please!

Absolute nonsense. You think our squad is weaker than Bournemouth's? Fulham's? Brentford's? Leeds'? Forest's? All of those?? Yes we are missing a top striker but so are many teams in the PL. It isn't an excuse for being utter dross every week. Brighton, who lets face it are a good model for us at the moment, last season had a top scorer of 8 goals. Less than JWP and only one more than Che. What's the difference? They had an effective manager who knew how to play to their strengths. We have a manager who only knows how to play effectively one way, and it is a way we are largely ineffective at playing. Yes he's trying other ways of playing, but he cannot actually access our team and consider how best to set them up, and then communicate that to the team. It's been 4 years, the buck stops with him, he needs to move on. For both his & Saints sake. I guess he's waiting for the payoff tbh, as it can't be any fun for him being at the club ATM.
-
Being completely honest I would find it more embarrassing if we put first team players into a game like this.
-
Tbh it’s hilarious Poopey are taking this game so seriously. The Hampshire senior cup FFS
-
Bournemouth seem to be doing ok with a caretaker manager, so unsure why we would be so anti it. Any sort of boost to the mood the club can give at the moment would be welcome, and I see little point in clinging on to Ralph when morale within the squad is so low
-
Fcuking hell... You haven't thought this argument through have you. Ralph is the third longest serving manager currently employed in the PL
-
Comment directly above mine says he's got the best out of the squad he's had available. Also Seen claims he's performed miracles keeping us in the PL. Both assertions completely wrong IMO.
-
Lots of people claiming Ralph did brilliantly with the squads he has had but I am not sure I buy it. Great start and some great runs but so many poor performances. Even if the squad was poor (and I don't think at any point we've had one of the three worst squads in the league) a good manager should be able to instill some drive and bottle, and that's the biggest thing we've missed the last two seasons. I can take losing, I cannot take going down without a fight I guess we'll see in hindsight
