  1. No.10 and a pacy wide player for me are a must. Squad is currently weaker than what it was last year and as people have mentioned we are down a lot of premier league goals from last year. Chamberlain would be immense, so would Sigurdsson, but knowing the club we won't know the player until he has signed. Though it's all gone quiet on transfer rumours for Chamberlain so maybe, just maybe some quiet negotiations are going in the background.
  2. This. I'm thinking we won't hear about our next signings until they are pretty much complete like this one. We need a Mane replacement and hopefully they will get a No.10, and we need a back up GK, plus we might see a RB as well, 4 more players in? who knows but that would be an excellent summer.
  3. Aside from Bertrand being involved in the Slovakia draw, the rest of our Euro contingent did well or excellent. (or looked good by not playing if you are Forster) Obviously Fonte and Cedric will be thrilled, but I'd think all our players should come back with more confidence. Lets just hope they aren't too knackered!
  4. I think if we'd really really wanted to keep Koeman then we would have I think so not really worried about that. If we replace quality with quality AND add to the squad then I'm no overly worried. My only worry would be that Redmond is the Mane replacement, but if we get a a Mane replacement + Holjberg + No. 10 + a new right back then I think we are in a good position. But if we sit on the squad and only see Hojberg + this right back on a free after letting Pelle, Mane and Wanyama go, overall the squad is worse off I think. Two more quality signings - a No 10 and a Mane replacement and I think we are well set.
  5. To be honest we've created two amazing stories, almost Roy of the Rovers stuff in Fonte and Lambert, League One players going on to represent their countries, and then Fonte going on to win the European Championship, it's amazing.
  6. Presumably a similar reason as to why Ox-Chamberlain might leave Arsenal, he wants more game time and they are massively over subscribed in those positions. They have Vidal, Thiago, Martinez, Xabi Alonso, Kimmich and now Renato Sanches as centre mids. Exactly the sort of players we should be targeting, young high rated players struggling for game time at massive clubs who hoover up too much talent. Play on our reputation for developing players, keep them for as long as we can, and then if a big club turns their head make some profit. Would reckon Bayern have a sell on clause in there. Plus the amount of money swelling the premier league it wouldn't surprise me if we'll be offering him more money than he makes now at Bayern.
  7. Still think it's a shame we are selling him, after watching the Euros and seeing him work so well with Eder, and then seeing the Greizman/Giroud combo work well together it would be good to have that little/large two striker option. But he's going out the league and we are making a tidy profit so no complaints really, plus it's a massive pay day for him that will mean he is set for life.
  8. Another under the radar signing, think we are probably wasting our time reading the rumour mills seems like the club doesn't let many details slip. Hopefully we've got a player like this lined up for Mane as well.
  9. I'd say more worrying is the fact Redmond is the Mane replacement. We should be signing 3-4 quality players that improve the first team squad, at the moment the squad is much worse than it was last year, we have more games to play and everyone else is improving. Hard not to feel negative in light of that, expecting any improvement this year seems a stretch when two of our best players have been sold (one unnecessarily) and we aren't looking to improve the quality of the team. Looks like we are just cashing in.
  10. They'll probably get a week off, so be back around 18th July. Has the club ever had players involved in a major international final?
  11. He's really not, he was trash last season for Liverpool, I have two Liverpool mates and they moaned about him constantly. They'd royally take the **** if we bought him, not thanks at all total backwards signing. JWP can at least pass forwards and take a set piece. He's also 21 not 26, Allen should pretty much be entering his peak.
  12. I think the video is a bit out of date, watched one of him this season (15/16) and he noticeably seemed more productive. A certain Ronaldo was also a bit of an over player when he first came to Utd, better use of the ball and decision making can be coached, he at least seems to have a fair bit of talent if a little raw.
  13. Nope, no better than what we have, if that. He's a Liverpool reject, he could barely get into a team last year that finished 8th. Lets not get hoodwinked by the Euros, Wales are an excellent team, greater than the sum of their parts, does not suddenly mean we should get some of those parts unless they are Bale, Ramsey and maybe Williams. All of which are unrealistic and Williams is maybe a bit old. But Joe Allen nope.

Look similar to the canalside development in Birmingham.
  15. You have to wonder whether Ramirez and Osvaldo were Cortese vanity signings that did not go through the usual scouting process, certainly Osvaldo never appeared to fit the mould of player we look for with regards to mentality/personality etc. (also Ramirez was only £12 million, he fitted the criteria most of our other buys have fitted, i.e young player, playing top league football, potential to improve etc.) IF Boufal has been scouted as we scout other players and the club have done the due diligence on him and IF the club thinks he is worth that fee then I'd trust him. But waiting for a more concrete link. If anything it could be just an easy link to make considering we need a Mane replacement, we have funds from Mane and we've just appointed a French manager. Probably the agent trying to entice Arsenal/Chelsea into a bid.

City centre isn't great but its not terrible, to be fair it's more the are around the stadium suffers, the stadium is a destination and the city council could to a lot more round that area, especially as a lot of is riverside, you could have shops, restaurants, bars etc. there with better parking do upgrades in conjunction with the club. But the players only have to be near the city for the home games, the new forrest is probably one of the nicest areas in the country to live in and if they want a more posher/cosmopolitan city they can go to Winchester. But all big cities have scummy areas
  17. Looks alright to me, don't get the fuss, the away kit looks better but both are alright.
  18. I don't think it would be a shock to anyone if we spent that amount, I mean really you are talking about the equivalent of us having sold no one and then spending about £30 million to improve last years squad, with the TV deal + our previous years of being transfer neutral that would not be unexpected. Spending £80 - 90 million looks massive for us, until you realise we have already brought in £36 million for Mane + £2 million for Juanmi + £11 million for Wanyama. If we sell Pelle as well for £16 million, that could easily be £64 million in sales alone, plus we will have have lost the wages of Mane, Wanyama, Ramirez, Osvaldo, Juanmi and Pelle from the wage bill, that is probably £200 - 250k a week wages. Even if the likes of VVD, Forster and JWP have had increases (+ Redmond) we still probably have £150k a week on wages compared to what we had last season. Spending £11 million so far, buying a couple of £20 - 25 million players is certainly doable, even if itsn't are way. The cynic in me though suspects the club might make noises about these sort of targets to placate the fans and those targets then go to Chelsea or Liverpool etc. and the club says they tried.
  19. Know little about him myself, did some googling and looked at whoscored, scored 11 in 29 last year and was rated 5th best player in the league according to them behind Zlatan, Di Maria, Thiago Silve and Ben Arfa. Played mainly wide left, but also behind the striker and the right. Worrying disciplinary record for a forward though, 10 yellows and 2 reds, is he bit of hot head? All looks promising, though Ramirez was about the same age, he had also just had a good season in Serie A and had a good youtube vid. Seems very Mane like though, quick forward who dribbles at people, scores goals etc. Plus today's €30 million is probably 2012s £12 million. Also based on the exchange we got like €43 million for Mane, so this is about 70% of the Mane fee. Interesting Arsenal are after him, if Chelsea or Arsenal are serious then we'll miss out but if it's Arsenal that get him should be even easier to get Chamberlain as Boufal will be yet another obstacle for him and first team football.
  20. If we can get £16 million and upwards for him then very happy to sell him, though would prefer to see him go outside of the league. I'd go £20 million to any premiership club, £12 million to anyone else. Re-invest the money in Behrahino, or add another £10-12 and make a bid for Bony or Benteke.
  21. Whilst yes I'd welcome either Benteke or Bony, I suppose strikers is where we are pretty well stocked, unless Pelle goes. I'd also reckon we are banking on Austin being as potentially good as both, in his one season in the prem he managed 18 in 35 for a poor team. Bony managed 26 in 54 (over two seasons) for a better Swansea side and Benteke managed 42 in 89 (over 3 seasons) for a poor Villa side, so their prem goal ratios are pretty similar, albeit they are different sort of players.
  22. I got the impression that he seemed to have bulked up a lot in muscle mass and had a fear that might have affected his pace/agility but seems like people are saying otherwise. I do however think he looked pretty good in those U21 games towards the end of the season, didn't he score a hat trick? Though he only got one (IIRC) full chance in the team and then just a few late sub appearances. Apparently he made 6 starts and 10 sub appearances but they would have been either end of the season, he only had 347 minutes in the league, which is less than 30 minutes per appearance on average so I wouldn't write him off just yet. We'll see what he looks like in pre-season, if he can get back near to anything like he was then it'll be like a new signing. He's essentially made 6 starts in two years.
  23. LMAO Everton mentioned the dugouts, apparently their staff are as delusional as their fans.
  24. I think this probably puts our sale into perspective, when Champions League Borussia Dortmund who play in front of the largest crowd (on average) in Europe can't stop their players moving down then it's no surprise we can't. It's madness. Just looking at the prices being rumoured today £100 million for Pogba, Man City going to pay £90 million for Suarez who is 29, £38 million for Mauro Icardi who scored 16 league goals last year and has just 1 international cap. Hell even £28 million for a player with just one year left on his contract.

    Euro 2016

Pelle's was poor but to be fair he'd played 120 minutes. The other guy, Zaza, he'd been on for like 30 seconds and produced that weird run up.
