Stacey Slater - especially after she went blonde, developed the bipolar mental illness and became all vulnerable and attainable. I would absolutely wreck that nasty little ass.

Got in my mates car earlier and he had just eaten a Mcdonalds, so all the wrappers and stuff were still in there. It is amazing how the smell permeates everything, and has the ability to make you feel both sick and hungry at the same time. By the time he had driven me the few miles to where we were going, I was jonesing for some Ronald Mcdonald loving. Crazy thing is I haven't had Mcdonalds for over six months and would never have craved it otherwise. Mainly because after I eat a reasonable sized meal from there (normally have two double cheeseburgers and a quarter pounder), about half an hour afterwards I get a horrible, cold, sweaty, clammy feeling, become queasy and then have indigestion for the rest of the day. Another true McDonalds story - few years back I was ****ging some bird who worked in a Mcdonalds, and you know what, only washing it several times and then liberally spraying the perfume about could remove the smell of their grease out of her hair. Was bloody horrible, no wonder half the people who work their seem to exude grease and spottiness as though some sort of horrible lard osmosis is taking place. Bleeeughh!

As well as the excellent District 9 i also watched The Hurt Locker last night. Brilliantly dynamic stuff from Kathryn Bigelow, easily her best work beating Point Break and Near Dark into touch. Outstanding performance from the lead, who should get a nod from the academy for his role. Very tense from the outset, outstanding cinematography and just an all round stonking film. Five stars, no doubt about it.

Smirking Saint - just to say it was not directed by Peter Jackson, he was the producer. Niall Kromkamp is the director.

Watched this last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. When you consider the size of the budget and how fantastic it looks, plus the fact that a lot of dialogue was improvised, you feel that there is a very big future for this director. Very much a film in three acts, it goes from pseudo documentary, to bio-horror escape flick, to kick ass action at the end. Add in the excellent allegory to apartheid and Cape Town's District 6, and you have a hell of an original sci fi treat.

Match of the Day. Even if we were in the skateboarding dog slot.

Also, can anyone elaborate on Brett's supposed attitude/character issues? I have seen his name mentioned before and comments to the effect that he has poor temprament.

The one person who got they ass banned from Leek Town must be proper hardcore.

I agree with the original post. It is refreshing hearing a manager speak honestly about the situation. Compare to a few years ago, when Bagpuss threw a load of youngsters into the team, we were dismal at Mansfield, and then he came out and trashed the players and the fans. Mind you, I have no idea why I am comparing that scrotal sack with eyes to Pardew.

I wonder if any opposition fans have wandered into this thread, expecting salty tales of post match aggro. They will glean that our fans are a bunch of whining, socio-political bores. Honestly, this place is like Question Time, Jon Gaunt and Jeremy Kyle all rolled into one at times. Absolutely brilliant.

Ahhh but Trader, you forget that he uses special techniques learned from Mike Brearley and Sun Tzu. Go on - listen to the subtle intonation. This guy is like some sort of dog whisperer, only for sportsmen.

This thread is awesome. Am still laughing at the tache guy justifying comments made at a football match by saying he made them using "techniques" gleaned from reading Mike Brearley and Sun f***ing Tzu. I would love St Will to elaborate on what he was actually saying during the match.

Been listening to My Morning Jacket. Some very melancholy tracks across their records. In particular "Nashville To Kentucky" with the refrain "Get me out of this dead end nightmare", and the brilliant "Strangulation", which just does me in every time. I interpret it as being about hopelessness and depression, something I have experienced first hand myself recently. It is a very haunting track: Strangulation I don't wanna feel a thing. When your hands close tight around my neck, and force the air that I breathe. I don't wanna feel a thing. Yes she was a young girl. Bout the age of 23. but somehow the lord never smiled down upon her, so she flew out on a breeze. Said: "I don't wanna feel a thing, I don't want to feel a thing." Sure he was a good kid. But his phone it'd never ring. He got tired of walkin a tightrope, needin too much to drink. So he got on a knee. "I don't want to feel a thing" But I know there's someone that loves up above and wants to fix you a dream. He wants to sit down and think. He wants to pour you a drink. And you wont feel a thing. You wont feel a thing.

Yeah Matty had a few flaws - his fitness and conditioning being one. This could have been one of the reasons why he was often omitted from England squads - I doubt that the elite footballers and coaches in the England setup would let him get away with a limited training schedule and questionable approach to exercise. But Brazil let the likes of Romario, Edmundo and Ronaldo get away with murder and still play regularly - because of the talent they brought to the side. Most of the great French players you care to name were smokers, as was Johan Cruyff. Tiss was the finest player I have ever seen pull on a Saints shirt, and nothing anyone can say will change that opinion. I too was there when he scored those two against Newcastle. I was there when he scored the last goal at the Dell. I remember other wonderful moments - his short lived but magical partnership with Ronnie Ekelund, a league cup game on a freezing night when he dismantled Cardiff City on his own, listening to the (abandoned) England game against the Irish on the radio, excited because Tiss had been picked. Watching his goals over and over on my worn out Unbelievable VHS tape. Feeling proud when Baddiel and Skinner used to champion our player at every opportunity. Seeing him dismantle Russia with the England B side. Apart from a few ameoba-brained individuals who will talk about lack of ambition, Pinnacle, his conditioning, etc etc, I have yet to meet anyone, Saints fan or not, who doesn't regard him as one of the most exciting, brilliant players they have ever seen in the English game.

I took my daughter on Saturday, and it was her first game - she is 4. For me as a dad it is perfect to have this kind of set up. There were hundreds of families with kids and it couldn't have gone any better, she really enjoyed it. There was none of the usual "choice" language you would get from elsewhere in the ground, and I was able to relax, which was a relief as I was nervous she would get bored and annoyed and lose interest! Mind you, on matchdays when I am going with my mates I would probably want to sit elsewhere where it is a bit more lively and you can have a shout and a sweary moan. That said, it made for a pleasant experience that we actually played all right and I didn't feel the need to shout at anyone anyway (I did bite my tongue on a "****ing hell, Wotton" once or twice though).

The Sun linked him with Chelsea in yesterday's paper, £1.5m was the figure quoted.
