I was only a nipper but at least I watched that team play at the Dell. We were genuinely one of the best teams in the country in that era and you'll not get the chance to say that too often as a Saints Fan!

This season was very much a one-off so I've got both home and away kits, something I've never done before. Worth it though as it'll be a long time before we see another sponsorless kit!

Just out of interest Alpine just what standard of player are you expecting to come to a 3rd tier club and hang around in the reserves waiting for someone to *maybe* get injured? Certainly no one better than Harding and probably no-one to the standard of Mills or Connolly. I know you haven't been to a game for a while but you do realise we're in League 1 don't you?

I think all 4 stands should be renamed after legends with the decision going to the fans. It would be great for the club to put something really important into the hands of the fans with a voting system being the obvious way to do it. We could be given a choice of 6-8 legends with the most popular 4 given the nod. I'd guess we'd probably end up with Bates, Le Tissier, Channon and Liebherr but possibly Paine or McMenemy?

My God, you miserable b'stard! I thought it was all very good natured yesterday and I very much doubt the D & R fans were in any way insulted or deeply hurt by the chants. Tony Roberts was superb and the banter between him and us was very entertaining. Whilst you do have some valid points in your whinge we could really do without the general negativity. We've just had a superb Xmas, collecting maximum points and scoring 11 in 3. Can't we just have a few days to enjoy it without the doom-mongers and whinge-bags bringing us all down!

My old man was up at Staplewood yesterday to interview everyones favourite Brazilian Loanee and the talk was that, if the weather forecast is correct, the game will indeed be called off. There will be a pitch inspection on Friday but the outlook is bleak. I was really looking forward to the trip as well. Bloody weather!

TBH honest Baj I suspect most of the admin' team would have happily carried on. Whilst they may even have agreed with your belief that it was time for a change they probably feel the way it came about was maybe a little 'mis-judged'. Personally I'm not too bothered. I only tend to come on here as a result of reported posts these days anyway as the petty bickering between the usual suspects has become virtually unbearable. I've enjoyed my 7 years of moderating very much but the time has definately come to bow out gracefully! FWIW I really don't think the moderation team are the reasons for the forums waining poularity anyway but that's another discussion for another day...

After 7 years moderating various incarnations of this site I am calling it a day too. I haven't been on here much in the last 12 months anyway so I doubt my input will be sorely missed. Anyway, it's been fun and I wish good luck to those foolish enough to put themeselves forward for the new team. It's a thankless task and those who have a crack at it might understand just how difficult it can be. Those who remember the abuse we had to endure during the meltdown of SaintsForever will know exactly what I mean!
