  1. Reality check. We're in a relegation battle, we can't afford to drop points.
  2. Yes that approached has worked at Chelsea. Their home form has been amazing since the protests. Their world class players have gone out and played without fear, they have not been affected by the protests. If I say it enough times I might brain-wash myself into believing it.
  3. I want us to get 3 points Monday night. We are in a relegation battle and are potentially five wins and a draw from safety with 16 games to go. Yes Nigel has been treated very badly but protesting won't change events and will only adversely affect the team. Therefore, let's not do a Chelsea! As Matt Le Tissier said on Sky, us fans MUST get fully behind the team.
  4. Yes we are all bemused and angry but how will demonstrating on Mon help the team? Let's not press the self-destruct button, we're better than that.
  5. Love the following Tweet from Tiff Needell;- Just waiting for Chelsea fan @JeremyClarkson to arrive at restaurant - but will he turn up?! Great point for #SaintsFC

  7. If Adam is out for an extended period, then bringing in cover will be costly. January is always a seller's market and therefore advertising such information is not commercially sensible, it will just push transfer prices up. Therefore, best to keep such information confidential until cover is sorted.
  8. By Newcastle fans for Gary Speed who died a year ago.
  9. Merson is a clueless skate.
  10. Use your brain! The "Southampton Way" strategy is to copy Barcelona. They play 4-3-3 and the formation is played at all levels within the club. Therefore, it seems very reasonable to assume that the enforced formation rumour is probably true. The trouble is that the current first team squad doesn't have the right type of players for 4-3-3.

  14. Matt needs to grow up and stop tweeting info that is only going to benefit the media.
  15. Too many player changes at a critical time in the game. Would have subbed Lambert but kept the others on.
  16. We're 14th in the table.
  17. Proud to be a Saint.
  18. Good first half.
  19. Some perspective: "Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini says he is not happy with the lack of transfer activity at the club". http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/mobile/football/19212916
  20. http://m.myfinances.co.uk/pensions/2012/08/05/niesr-calls-on-uk-to-delay-austerity-to-boost-economic-growt Grim reading for the Eton boys. Key points:- "NIESR says that had the austerity measures been delayed from 2011 to 2014, the economy would have delivered £239 billion more economic output and a200,000 jobs could have been saved". "The think-tank also warns that austerity measures may have cost the UK's GDP up to 16.5 per cent in cumulative economic growth". "Despite £18.5 billion extra cuts being made in 2012-13, the deficit is expected to increase by £12 billion to £138.5 billion".

  23. From Nigel's matchday programme notes for the Coventry game: "Finally, one man has driven our football club forward with fantastic ambition. Today we sit on the brink of another stage of the journey, and I know that Executive Chairman Nicola Cortese must be a very proud man for what he has achieved so far".
