  1. The 43 games you quote above is the total number of games (including cups). RH has been in charge for 38 Premier League games (as it happens, a season's worth) and this includes his first match an away defeat at Cardiff when he had only been in charge for a couple of days. From these 38 games, he has won 45 points. This is significantly better than Eddie Howe (38 from 38).
  2. Alternatively, the guy with the phone might have been answering an incoming call. Maybe a friend was watching at home on TV saw the goal, rang his mate in the ground and they celebrated together. We shall never know.
  3. That’s the one. It’s the Saints crest on his shirt that really makes it. Many thanks - and thanks to Crab Lungs for creating it.
  4. Two requests please Can someone please upload the picture of the two babies, one laughing merrily and the other bawling his head off and the picture of a baby and the proposed new stadium at the harbour in their town
  5. How far does your love of democracy go? What changes can we expect to see when Brexit is over? Abolition of the House of Lords? End of the monarchy?
  6. Stade de France 15 November 2015. France v Germany.
  7. Che to score within the first 10 minutes.
  8. Cedric v Manchester United
  9. Arriving back on the Isle of Wight after a visit to the mainland.
  10. 2016. A 4-1 win over Crystal Palace. Was hoping for something similar today. Silly me.
  11. Antonio could launch a mean long throw. Our second goal in the JPT final was from one of his specials.
  12. Ahhh ... but was it a ‘cheeky’ £50 or merely a regular £50?
  13. When Targett scored, many of the team rushed to the Itchen/Chapel corner to joint him in the celebration - Stephens and Bednarek went over to the Kingsland/Chapel area and congratulated Valery after his cross. Good to see The Defenders Union showing solidarity.
  14. Their corner was a perfect delivery, Boly came from deep and he is huge. He took out-jumped our players and gave Gunn no chance. Saddened to see us concede from a corner but given that Wolves had 9 corners in the match, we should be praising our defenders in making sure they only scored the once.
  15. And yet, lower down in the same article, Adam Marshall, Director General of the British Chamber of Commerce tells us that the government had listened to businesses. Who does one believe? The DG of the CBI? The DG of theBCC? Or the BBC journalist?
  16. Can anyone explain why the penalty area is the shape it is? Why isn’t it shaped like a D as it is in hockey?
  17. Can’t we hire some ex Royal Marine PT instructor to get them fit. Someone not dissimilar to that b*****d in Full Metal Jacket.
  18. On the ferry south Red Funnel gave us all a beer voucher to celebrate. It was quite a party on board.
  19. Can anyopne who saw the match on TV give me a hand? From my seat in the Kingsland Hoedt's challenge on Giroud looked like a perfectly timed and wholly legal tackle. It was with some surprise I read the comments on this thread saying it was a penalty. Bearing this in mind ... in the second-half, the referee started dishing out yellow cards against Saints players. Whilst a couple were justified in that they deliberately slowed a Chelsea attack, a couple appeared to be not only harsh yellow cards, but barely warranting a free-kick - Lamina on Barkely for example. Yet when a Chelsea player fouled one of ours (Rudiger over on the Itchen side of the pitch - I didn't spot which Saints player was fouled) there was no hint of a card at all. Clearly I look at things as a Saints fan and no doubt see what I want to see, but can anyone who saw the game on TV - and therefore had the advantage of replays - put me straight. Apart from Bertrand's, were all of our yellow cards justified?
  20. I must confess to making an unsaintly gasp when I saw Cedric march up for the s**t-or-bust moment. Further, I will own up to making double-take when Hojberg approached the spot for the third. Memories of his accuracy (or lack of it) last season still remain; perhaps unfairly given his vast improvement this.
  21. How many penalty shoot-outs have we been involved in? There was the game against Norwich in the JPT when Bialkowski surprised us all by saving several. There have been others but can’t recall the opponents ... maybe losing one somewhere in the north-west; Blackburn? Bolton? Preston?
  22. Attention is naturally drawn to the penalty scorers but a shout out goes to Gunn who saved Walcott’s effort. He got a hand to the second penalty but never stood a chance with either Baines’s off-the-crossbar shot nor with Zuma’s straight-down-the-middle bullet.
  23. Now the dust has settled and the frustration of dropping points in the final minutes has passed, try looking on the bright side. We are scoring goals; think back to those dreadful days under Puel and MoPe when a scoring goal was something we could only dream of. As for conceding the stoppage time penalty - be grateful Brighton didn't equalise a few minutes earlier; we all know they would then have scored a third and we would have come away with no points at all. Come the end of the season, this might just be the point that keeps us up!
