In rugby, the whole point of the TMO is to arrive at the correct decision. So far, this only appears to be the case on occasion in football. At other times it seems to be used to back up the onfield decision. The discussion between the infield ref and the TMO is broadcast in rugby. As an example, the foul against Salish by Sturridge at the end would probably have gone something like this ... Ref to VAR: I have a clear foul by red-and-black on white. I would like to check for a card. Replays shown at both normal speed and slow speed from two or three different angles. Ref to VAR: I see a no-arm, shoulder charge direct to the neck. I would like to check for mitigation. One more replay shown Ref to VAR: I don’t see the white player falling therefore the charge to neck was high. I suggest a red card. VAR to ref: I see no mitigating circumstances. Agree with a red card. And Sturridge would have been sent off. I am unsure of Laws in football concerning a forehand smash to the neck, but under rugby rules it was a straight red.

Sadly it was KWP running a tiny fraction too early.

Fair play to Foden for not screaming and rolling around.

Sir Kenneth Olisa (Lord Lieutenant of Greater London) on BBC 4 PM programme on 8 March. (A black man with a white wife). From 09:20 to 15:22 Sir Kenneth Olisa

Although Brexit will create inconveniences in the travel plans of UK citizens (and others) I believe Brexiteers are delighted to have a blue cover on British passports. That makes it all worthwhile.

We clearly have them worried with Tella. Feed him and chances are likely to come. Hopefully he might even have the composure to score himself.
-
Agree, especially when the tippy-tippy has barely produced a shot at goal in those previous 93 minutes.

Why should a team wait for the referee to whistle? Didn’t Ings score at Arsenal last season from a quick free-kick? If the referee says wait for the whistle it is to give the defending side time to organise themselves and since they have committed the error, why should they have any advantage?
-
It was our good defending that caused their failure to execute. The wild miss by Reece James was due to Bertrand being between him and the goal and because he was under pressure to score as time was running out. Compare Minamino’s composed finish to James’s uncontrolled swing.

Whereas 5live have suggested Bednarek will play at RB with Salisu as CB. We shall soon find out,

We cannot hold onto a lead and we struggle to score when we go behind. Serious problems.

Wolves are unlikely to be so poor again in the the second-half.

Jonathan Moss was my MoM. He let the play flow and I don’t think he blew up for a foul until 30 minutes or so had passed.

The same could have been said (and almost certainly was said) on the morning of 1 May 1976

It might be even clearer than that. Flick the ball up with your foot and catch it with your hands.

At what time the game will Shane Long come on?

I have just seen the 3 minutes of highlights of the Villa v Burnley game. For all I know the other 87 minutes might have been as dull as ditchwater but the clip below is well worth a watch; cracking stuff. https://www.bt.com/sport/watch/video/clips/2021/january/highlights-burnley-3-2-aston-villa

Can Arsenal keep up the high-tempo, high-pressing game in the second-half? I would be surprised if they can. We have looked dangerous in attack and I see us creating more chances as the game progresses. We should target Bellerin as he is on a yellow-card.
-
But if an opposition side sits back and keeps it tight in the first-half, it would mean less pressing and less running around for our lads who should therefore not tire so quickly in the second-half.

Happy days - the good old 2-3-5 formation. When will we see her likes again?
-
The bench. Very inexperienced. Having said that we had similarly inexperienced benches against WHU and Liverpool and we did well against them.

First team to be top and bottom of the table?

I believe we were 19th ahead of the Burnley game, ahead of WBA on goal difference. https://www.premierleague.com/match/58909
