JWP v Palace?
-
That feeling doesn't go away. I'm in my early 60s and a grandfather but I still don't feel like a proper adult. Hopefully this will continue for a further 20 plus years.

Thank you, Cuco, for treating us all to a wonder goal. It may well have been the only memorable thing you ever did, but WOW! it was spectacular.

There, but for the grace of Les .....

We beat Middlesbrough both at home and away - what more is the team supposed to do? -
Comedy Moment for 2016/17 season was a tough choice between the two Harry's and their missed penalties for Spurs and Bournemouth. I finally decided on Harry Kane but Arter deserves an honourable mention for giving us all a jolly good laugh.

When we have possession we look slick, smart and very, very good ... but compare our defending high crosses deep in our penalty area to David Luis and Cahill.

Given that these seats are usually covered in netting they did not look especially grubby. What are the oddest things that you have seen at games? Or it might have been the seat where one particular Portsmouth fan allegedly himself comfortable.

The game where Dennis Bergkamp scored from a back-heel. Ah yes, I remember it well.

Further, there is no reason for Long or anyone else to forego a chance in order to obtain a free-kick. We all know what would be the end result. Our dreadful record from free-kicks since SRL left speaks for itself.

If you look closely you can see the book is The Laws of Football and the lady is checking to see if you can be offside from a goal kick.
-
Alternatively, it could be said ... we've proved we can score without Gabbi (Bournemouth was a one off).
-
We weren't dreadful. Long put in some telling runs, JWP hit a wonder pass from the dugout, Hennessy made a superb save from a Redmond header, Cedric got to the bye line and was giving their left back a torrid time ... We were good first half but we're even better in the second.
-
Alex McCarthy? Mouez Hassen? Maybe we don't need to attract but simply replace?
-
Gabba went off after around 30 minutes. We scored a goal in the second half.

Very painful and you have my deepest sympathies. If all else fails, consider some Oriental remedies. Acupuncture may be worth a try and moxibustion for more demanding problems (Google it). They worked for me. When I was living in Tokyo I had very bad lower back problems. A Japanese chiropractor fixed the problem with acupuncture but recommended a treatment of moxibustion. After this, she told me I would be OK for 20 years. 21 years later I found myself visiting another chiropractor in Cowes.

Saints vs Man U (rearranged league fixture)
Kingsland Codger replied to sifter's topic in The Saints
Possible, but Arsenal have a fixture on the following Saturday (22 April v Sunderland) and I suspect they would kick up a fuss. Perhaps their game could be switched to the Sunday? -

I note we are due to play Chelsea on Sunday 23 April - this is also the weekend of the FA Cup semi-final. Should Chelsea get through to the semi-final ... there might be another fixture that needs to be re-arranged ? -
Saints V Man United - Post Match Reactions
Kingsland Codger replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
There were a number of MU fans on our train home (well, there be, wouldn't there; after all, the train was travelling through Surrey) and to be fair they were all of the view that we were desperately unlucky and deserved to win. The only puzzling thing was when I questioned Ibrahimovitch as MotM - I thought De Gea was. They seemed puzzled and said he didn't have much to do! -

I would like to think you're right but with our kind of track record and transfer policy ... who knows? -
Saints V Man United - Post Match Reactions

Whilst ever so proud of the team on the pitch, I was truly amazed with the performance of the 12th Man. Not just the fantastic and frequent renditions of OWTSGMI but the noise made throughout. One moment is especially to be cherished ... Shortly after we equalised, the entire Saints end broke into the 7 Nation Army Gabbiadini song, with just about everyone waving their red-and-white scarves which we had been given. I looked around from my seat in Block 548 and witnessed one of those truly amazing moments of collective action - crowds at Buckingham Palace for a Royal celebration, the millions bathing in the Ganges, starling murmurations, wildebeest crossing the Serangeti ... Saints fans at Wembley. Nobody does it better. -
Bravo and Well Played to Mrs Ohio.

His name? Paul Tierney, who was also in charge a couple of weeks ago at Burnley.
-
Thomas Pekhart (who?) scored for us in our Championship relegation season - can't recall who is was against ... Barnsley? Southend? Ipswich?

Close to your own name there should be something for you to click on and all the names in your 'Family and Friends' will then appear in a drop-down box. Many thanks to those earlier in the thread who highlighted a problem using an ipad. Forewarned, I used a windows laptop and had no trouble buying for 6 - couldn't have been simpler.
