According to his own blog, he is starting his rehab. He says he will be doing so with a smile on his face. http://ameblo.jp/lee-tadanari/archive1-201204.html

And on the bright side ... the Michael Swensson equaliser (aka the Niemi goal) v Fulham at Loftus Rd back in 2003.

Agree with all the above. Far too much nonsense has been written about yesterday's game - much of it by people who weren't there. Derby matches make players from both sides do things they would not normally dream of doing - shooting from 35 yards, two players both going for the same ball, rash and silly tackles - even (especially?) the officials get similarly wound up. For those who say we played poorly and our opponents were the better side, think of who was their MoM - Ashdown, and also ask how many saves KD had to make (one from Etihu (sp?) and their two wonder goals). Some have said the crowd didn't get under the skin of their players - nonsense, we got to them all right, no problems there. As for those who are saying the crowd were quiet ... I for one have never heard all 4 sides of the stadium shout and sing so loudly.

Argentina upping the ante on the Falklands....
Kingsland Codger replied to doddisalegend's topic in The Lounge
In the village, there is a rather cold and not very appealing girl. She is in love with a powerful, wealthy but older man who lives a long way away and is vaguely aware of her but has no special feelings towards her. Her neighbour thinks she should be going out with him and so one day he kicks in the door of her house, says the house now belongs to him (because a long time ago, possibly, someone vaguely related to him stayed there overnight) and tells both the girl and the older guy to like it or lump it. The older guy comes calling and gives his rival a bloody nose and a black eye and sends him home with his tail between his legs. He ensures the girl's home is safe and gives the girl many gifts. What should the rival do? Huff and puff, say it's unfair, that the girl is truly his and threaten and cry and generally behave like a class 1 twit? Or should he send the girl a handwritten message on scented notepaper saying he's sorry, give her flowers and chocolates and try very hard to be nice to her? Put another way ... Just what the heck does the Argentine diplomatic service think it's doing? -
Argentina upping the ante on the Falklands....

Thank you for this. I'm sure many of us recall the image of the best part of 250,000 Argentinians outside the Casa Rosada waving their sky-blue and white flags cheering on Galtieri and his loathsome chums and coming to the not unreasonable conclusion that the 1982 invasion had popular backing. Compare this to the crowds outside Buck House at a Royal Wedding or Jubilee celebration and concluding that, like it or not, most Brits are quite content with their Royals. I remain of the view that no matter how unconcerned your average Argentinian might be about the Falklands, all you have to do is shout Malvinas Argentinas and they all go off on one. Very similar to Portsmouth fans when seeing someone in red-and-white stripes - they can't resist shouting 'Scummer'. I shall be very happy to be proven wrong, but until I see evidence of an Argentinian President being told, by thousands of baying Argies, to shut the heck up about the Malvinas, I shall believe they continue to have imperialist desires over the islands. -
A bit of revision on the offside law wouldn't go amiss.

Lee - out for 4-6 months according to Japanese press
Kingsland Codger replied to shurlock's topic in The Saints
So when CFSFC posted about Lambert having an op and being out for the rest of the season, he had got his strikers mixed up. An intriguing example of how some rumours have a hint of the truth about them. I'm sure we all wish TL a speedy recovery - and hope SRL does the business next weekend. -
Errr... if many teams have worked out how to play us, how come we are top of the league?

Dr Who - my thoughts - consider your personal circumstances; don't answer any of these questions here on the forum, but how old are you and your wife and do you have children - and if the answers are youngish (say, under 35) with no kids then go for it. I moved abroad (Japan) in 1978 for what was intended to be only a short period and it was a life changing experience, such that Japan remains a major part of my life over 30 years later. It sounds like quite an adventure; might you kick yourself for ever after if you decide not to go?

And not forgetting ... 1) We have a very honest group of players (whatever the heck that means) 2) Up against a very good (insert name of opposition) side

When I was a child my mum pasted the times-table to the back of the loo door - together with a sheet of other relevant facts like 1760 yards = 1 mile and 30 pence are two-and-six. I was therefore conditioned from an early age (by a woman) to make full use of the idle time available to improve my knowledge. So, no, Jillyanne, it's not "a man thing" - but maybe it's "a caused by a woman thing" ?

Thank you for this - very useful site. And I notice that whilst us and WHU have been awarded the most penalties, as one might expect, Coventry in third place are an interesting anomaly. As for Bristol - awarded 1, missed 1 ...

After many decades of being a Saints fan I've found one of the toughest tasks in the last couple of years or so has been getting used to winning. Even when we were 4-0 up at Wembley with 5 or so minutes to go I was expecting a close finish. But after last season's fantastic display and what we have achieved this season, I now have complete confidence in the team and above all in NA. Even when we had our bad patch he managed to turn it around impressively. No game is easy in this division, we may well lose a few before the end of the season - but NA will see us promoted- in that, I have no doubts.

"The Blues [ipswich Town] worked tirelessly to try and sign a trio of Pompey players during the January transfer window. However, with severity of the south coast club’s financial woes not completely clear at that stage" All anyone had to do was to look at this thread. All of us here were well aware of the severity of their financial woes ...

What is it about the words "your club is in administration" that they don't understand?

Miyaichi Ryo san is currently playing in the Premiership. On Arsenal's books but since the end of January playing regularly on loan at Bolton .

At home v Ipswich and before that v Blackpool and away v Millwall in the Cup - and v that lot down the road in the league?

I fully endorse what ALWAYS_SFC says. I registered at the start of this year and the calls have more or less stopped after 3 or 4 a day beforehand. I don't think it can stop the random calls as a few get through (most recently from 'Windows Technical Care' or 'Microsoft Technical Assistance' or similar) but the bulk has stopped.

Booking fee question. I bought 2 tickets for both Donny and Skates using two season ticket numbers. I forgot to ask the booking fee when purchasing. Is it a fee of £3 for the lot, £3 for each match (i.e.£6) or £3 for each ticket (i.e. £12)? -
What a bunch of sick ungreatful bast8rds

The story was given some prominence on the 8.00am news on Radio 4 this morning. The Libyan authorities have apologised and vowed to catch those responsible. -
Quashie's miss at QPR (hit the post) in what proved to be Theo's last Saints game was the first official miss since Sideways Jim several seasons before. I say 'official' because Quashie failed with one at St Marys against Norwich (?) but it had to be retaken for encroachment and he scored with the second bite. After that it was a sorry tale of misses as Lighthouse points out on post 40 above.
