  1. For the past 10 days, unable to go outside, I telephoned, emailed and tried to find help to fetch me some food, for my move to my new apartment. Not one person or organisation were able to assist me. I have been in desperation, and disgusted at the lack of care or understanding. Many times my calls fell on answer phones, people who'd take my number and promise to call back. But no one has and when I've called back, firstly no one recalls my conversation, or they tell me their organisation doesn't cover help to over 60's. Even the Mayors office operator must have transfered me to dead lines over 50 times, never allowing me to explain who I wish to talk too. Racism or our uncaring society. This morning, I contacted the Restos du Coeur, ( a charity that provides food rations in winter. Immediately the person in charge that someone bring me some milk, butter, meat, fish . It is a 75 year old handicapped Polish lady who has offered to bring these rations to me. I am deeply moved at her kindness, yet disgusted at the general lack of concern or care. HOW TRUE IT IS THAT THEY WHO HAVE NOTHING GIVE ALL.
  2. Thoroughly agree will you Colin.

    Lee Holmes

Lee's scored both goals so far. Really pleased for the lad. Was unlucky to injury but he's beginning to shine, all be it League Two.
  4. I recall that Stoke received good welcomes because Stanley Matthews was still playing in the team, despite being in his 40's and aged 50
  5. Anyone following Chappie on Twitter will not be surprised at how badly he played today. I can't believe a first team player could have been out till late in London and even tweeting earlier before the game. I thought a professional would have had his entire concentration on the game, of getting into the right frame of mind. Hopefully he'll have made that observation himself and he'll get back into the form we know and love and so want to see.

    Kelvin Davis

An amazing performance and won the game for us. Rickie, like some many couldn't hold back his feelings for Kev as they came off the pitch. Incredibly fast reactions and movement.
  7. Lizzie Gough, hip hop dancer, finalist of So You Think You Can Dance comes from Southampton and really does Southampton justice and fills me with pride. An amazing young lady
  8. Well Blackpool now have played 34 games and were held to a 1 - 1 draw tonight playing Hull. Of course now one's interested that they're 6 points behind us having played 34 games.
  9. Matty C, the guy who wound up the Cherries fans, and then us Saints during our Administration???!!! Surely every one knows how many false investors appear on the horizon and get posted on fans forums. The genuine investors like Marcus Liebherr only appear when a deal is about to be finalised.
  10. Great shout Steve. I've thought Ward would be a great recruitment for a while and been following him on Twitter. Loves the Skates but a good player and would be a class signing for Saints.
  11. It is at this point that we also should say a word or two of thanks to a certain Rupert Lowe who put it all into place before everything went pie shaped. The sad thing was his choice of the people he put in place to realise the football side of things.
  12. Well it is the Ides of March in 2 weeks time so I guess it's the time to beware. Can these posts on the main board get any worse.? Almost anything goes these days. Won't do if we get promoted to the Premiership, time for the Admins to prepare, rather than be caught with their red and white striped boxers down next season.
  13. Davy starred as the Artful Dodger in Oliver both in London and in New York. Here is a clip from 1964 of Davy singing "I'd do anything [video=youtube;P-fLLuQgIss]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-fLLuQgIss&feature=results_video&playnext=1&list=PL84751B8B6754CF33
  14. By the way CD, many of these former Saints heroes are still alive and living locally. Don't wait for them all to be long dead before you take up the opportunity, use a bit of incentive and go and get down on your notepad, all the stories each and every one of them could tell you that would blow that mind of yours away,
  15. Crazy Diamond, your entire life is one long list of missed opportunities. So many things that get started in a great way and never get finished. Brian O'Neill was an amazing player, one of the best tacklers of his day. Who needs a car when one gets the chance like that to interview one amazing former Saints player. Have you never heard of buses, bikes or hitch hiking?
  16. A nice little tribute on Digital Spy to Davy with a number of great Monkee clips. Boy, they were good when you see them against the biggest groups of the past 50 years. I've listened to amazing stuff this evening that I'd never ever heard before. Amazing Great Monkee clips http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/news/a368608/davy-jones-1945-2012-the-monkees-greatest-songs-video.html
  17. Sorry my memory mixed up Davy with David Cassidy and Shirley Jones. Same period of time
  18. Davy as Ena Sharples grandson in Corrie was how Davy started his showbusiness career,
  19. Very saddened to read this news. Davy Jones like the other Monkees had a big part in the lives of so many young people all those years again. Being British he was kinda special over here in the UK. He was indeed a jack of all trades, even a jockey at one time. Still brings a tear to my eyes whenever such hits as Daydream Believer, We are the Monkees, I'm a Believer., From their comedy acting to their corny but loveable music the Monkees was popular from all sides of showbusiness. R.I.P. Davy, thanks for the music, the fun, and for being British.
  20. Well if the Skates managed a scoreless draw and other than Doncaster win all the top teams have beaten them at Ellen Road, we need to get a decent result. See they've just signed Danny Webber to make our chances more difficult
  21. Says there in solidarity to some charity in Kenya. This sounds to me like those Nigerian "Hello dar" emails one gets. Reckon it's some London club supports trying to get a rise out of us. Check out the Home page and see the other articles posted.
  22. Hmm!!!! This is really a strange one. http://www.footballfriendsonline.com/gossip/2012/2/27/saints-hoping-to-keep-winger.html?
  23. How is it that so many on here fall hook, line and sinker for windups by promotion rivals? Sam is notorious for doing this when he's trying to get one over his rivals. Shame people just don't ignore such crap.
  24. The first shall be last and the last shall be first. Karma is very lethal in the justice dealt out. They laughed at us and now where are they. We begin laughing at them and........ we open the door to karma dealing us justice. Live and let live, leave sleeping dogs lie and make sure we remember past lessons.
  25. Not a true National Anthem but the Anthem of the Tiananmen Student Uprising in 1989. This song "The Blood Red Flag" is heard in this very moving video "June 4th Massacre" It was sung in the Square and at every commemoration of this tragic event. Here is the translated text from this incredible Anthem Perhaps I'll bid farewell and never to return, can you comprehend? Do you understand? Perhaps I will fall and never to rise again. Do you still want to wait forever? If it's to be like this, don't you be sad, the flag of the Republic has our blood-stained glory. If it's to be like this, don't you be sad, the flag of the Republic has our blood-stained glory. Perhaps my eyes will shut and never open again, will you understand my sunken emotions? Perhaps I will sleep forever, never able to wake up. Will you believe that I have been transformed into mountains? If it's to be like this, don't you be sad, the soil of the Republic contains the love we have given. If it's to be like this, don't you be sad, the soil of the Republic contains the love we have given. If it's to be like this, don't you be sad, the flag of the Republic has our blood-stained glory. If it's to be like this, don't you be sad, the flag of the Republic has our blood-stained glory. Blood-stained Glory.
