  1. Too damned right! I am thoroughly disgusted as this is a classic out of Lowe's books on treachery. I hated Lowe from the moment he put Jan Poortviert through the humiliating antics of having to pay his former club compensation out of his own pocket. With Marcus gone, I don't like what I see one little bit. My pride in the club after the takeover has disintegrated into utter shame and repulsion.
  2. It gets worse, and there is only one thing certain. With Marcus gone, and events since his sad passing, we are doomed to fail. I find myself wishing we'd never been saved by Marcus's millions, that we'd gone on to rise out of the ashes but as a football club, playing football. Being held to ransom in the way we now are is sickening. and I don't have any love for the game played by boardroom egos. Have we not learned from the past 5 years, do we honestly have to go through it all again and again.
  3. And where does Sir Clive Woodward fit into this big jigsaw now that Marcus is not longer about.
  4. I'm still sticking to my assumption that Rupert Lowe is being used in some advisory capacity in this great big messy stew. It was further strengthened when I read at the weekend that Marcus used to play hockey. Of course, we all know that Lowe's appearance would have rocked the boat but somewhere in this all is that miserable pig farmer from Gloucester. Lowe was also earlier involved in Banking and still has a lot of links in business with Banking.
  5. And this rate I am guessing that Pardew will be re-instated as manager by next week, as all it has been was a ploy to get the clubs refusing to loan us players to ease off. You have to give it to them for originality and screwing up all the rumour mongerers on this forum!
  6. And to think we pay nowadays to read all this garbage. In the old days when it was free the Admins were like pitbulls and deleted crap like this. I read somewhere that Cortese is still on vacation and isn't due back to Monday. It said he flew in for the game the other night. How is he getting slammed for every single mischief doing the rounds?
  7. Adulterated fantasy and total crap. Just tell me when 606 rumours, inventions were ever proved correct. I can remember some pretty horrific stuff posted by Ian_the_Red during Administration and Takeover. Not one every proved to be anywhere near reality or truth.
  8. Being a manager in football, or in fact most walks of life, requires maintaining total hold on subordinates and colleagues. Time after time problems arise within, backstabbing, putsches, destablising, and one-upmanship.Strachan, Hoddle and Burley managed strongly enough that they weren't dethroned but all the other managers we've had in the past 10 years had to fight off and lost out to unrest within the camp. A person can be tough as nails but too trusting. I get the feeling, and this has been for somewhile, that Cortese is being advised on footballing matters. There is a power within, open or hidden pulling the strings, allowing Cortese to do all the announcements, appearing to be the one calling the shots. Banking works that way, and I can well believe Cortese uses hidden advisors, that we may never ever know who or where they are.
  9. Where does Jason stand in all this?
  10. It is surely what all the French have just concluded. Let's get WISE and see all of Southampton go in Seine. Not need to go to Morecombe, there's nothing Toulouse, cos we have the Monet, so WISE it is, thus saving the Saints from sailing down the Solent without a paddle.
  11. I meant to mention that I see some disagreement of transfers and maybe the Board/Chairman has decided to sell a player that Pardew wouldn't hear of being offloaded. This is one almighty warning to everyone at the club than no one's job is safe and it's results that count.
  12. Stunned at the news. Obviously big disagreements on signings and the direction things were going. Pardew's statement about so pleased to be getting away from St Mary's hinted at interference or problems during home games. I know this is very controversial but events and board/chairman tactics have for some while led me to speculate that none other than Rupert Lowe is advising Cortese in some capacity. I'd even go so far as to say Lowe was probably the entity involved in selling Saints to Cortese. After takeover, I believe Lowe may have been lined up to return in some capacity but deemed too controversial to put into place. It all sucks but I'll reserve judgment till a successor is named and results are forthcoming. Omens of the last 3rd match manager sacking are too awful to think about!
  13. Having lived the best part of 45 years overseas after I graduated in your position I wouldn't hesitate. Adding languages is still a positive move to degrees and qualifications. I set out to spend a year in German, another year in France followed by Switzerland and then the States. It didn't work out that way but took me much farther afield. The Erasmus scheme is very popular in Europe, especially amongst Scandinavian students. A valid, update passport is all that you need in the European Community. Elsewhere, visas, etc come into play. and if you're planning of working all will depend on the local job market. This should be well looked into before setting out if funds are short. http://www.esn.org/content/section-information China offers many teaching positions to graduate foreigners with live in and a survivable salary and transport provided. These are pretty easy to find. I'll see if I can find the video clips of the experiences of a student who went to live in China to work on graduating. He eventually married and settled in China. Don't hesitant to contact me if I can answer any questions you may have. Best of luck, you won't regret it.
  14. Was that your Strachan or Burley immitation Mr M?
  15. I think you'll find that most sensible billionaire's where 25 or 60 make financial preparations for what is to transpire when they die. The papers regularly print stories relating where changes are made according to situations and scenarios throughout a lifetime. Marcus being the wise man that he obviously was, would have left no stone unturned in shaping what was to happen after he passed away.

    Kevin Davies

During a Saints radio commentary Matt Le Tissier said that people didn't understand Kevin. That he was a confidence player, and needed fans, manager. colleagues to believe in him. I spotted this sensitivity when his mate got killed, how it really effected him, his play. Sam Allardyce obviously knew this and was able to work near miracles on the lad. For me, Strachan didn't have the patience, man management skill to deal with Kev, Scott MacDonald and one or two others. He preferred someone else worked on them. I am hoping that one or two players like Kev would consider returning to Saints now they are reaching the end of their Premiership careers. Alan Pardew I'm certain would really get the most our of a player of Kev's caliber.

    Live Text Commentry

Great to read of your efforts Baj and Steve. Needs the likes of the former LittleLat and his sister and their incredible typing skills every matchday. Whatever happened to Martin? One of the best around.
  18. ARTZLINE's latest Video presentation "Young Charlie's Mischief Making" which shows an imaginary day in the life of the young Charlie Chaplin. The film written by the two leading actors shows the School Mam trying in vain to give the morning dictation to the class. At the back of the class we have a somewhat unruly, naughty Charlot who has other plans. Hope that you will enjoy it. http://www.youtube.com/user/ArtzLine
  19. Reading that he turned up in jeans and a shirt may suggest he got a bo ll oc k ing for turning up so dressed. It also states he had his hands in his pockets after the service as he was leaving down the aisle. And yes many footballers stand with hands in pockets. It's also very common in the States, even amoung very educated people to have one's hands in pockets. Some schools used to make boys put their hands in their pockets when talking to an adult to show they weren't a threat. Many Chinese cover their mouths when they talk as a sign of respect. Odd you may say, but I left Britain and educated myself and didn't spend my entire life arguing about two flies on the wall, or till the cows come home about simple unimportant things.
  20. Body language meaning Hands in pockets: Dejection, feeling that the world is about to end Therefore Puncheon unconsciously may have been showing just how bad he felt.
  21. Many people entering churches find their hands or lips shaking in fear of being in the House of the Lord. Others tend to look to the roof or bell tower hoping that it doesn't happen to fall upon them. Elsewhere I was just trying to suggest that discussion on Puncheon's hands in pocket had no relevance on this thread dedicated to Wes Tender's admirable account of the Memorial Servcves.
  22. Sincere thanks to Wes Tender for the wonderful accounts of todays Memorial Service. I hope the Admins will see fit to save your account elsewhere as a token reminder of what today means to us all. I read early on a German site that Markus has been unwell for sometime and that he had meticulously plotted out the Saints future with Nicolas Cortese before the season began. From what was written it gave the impression Markus was aware he didn't have long to live. With regard to Puncheon standing with his hands in his pockets, it something seen in many footballers. I also might observe that he may have needed to do so to keep his hands from shaking. That he attended the service is enough for me and it's not something we should use in our usual fashion to humiliate or draw unnecessary attention to.
  23. Liverpool turned "I'll Never Walk Alone' in an internationally known anthem. To turn Saints into the Club that Markus dreamed of, a dream that every Saints Supporter dreams of, we too need a strong anthem. In remembering Markus and the promise he made to each and everyone of us, I thought how appropriate, how moving would be. I Vow to Thee" not "Country" but "Southampton" What better tribute, what more rousy anthem to inspire our players. I VOW TO THEE SOUTHAMPTON I vow to thee, Southampton All earthly things above Entire and whole and perfect The service of my love The love that asked no questions The love that stood the test That lays upon the alter The dearest and the best The love that never falters The love that paid the price The love that made undaunted The final sacrifice
  24. Such fitting discussion on Marcus Liebherr's Memorial Day. Even the club had the decency to close shop for the day. We have lost our benefactor in the midst of division and whinging, just how long is this all going to go on? Can't people just refrain out of respect for 1 day, even one morning or an hour of two to show how much Marcus's acts meant to us all.
