  1. Phoned a friend in Scotland who's a Celtic shareholder. She said she received a newsletter today saying Saints had only offered 4 million so far. That the club doesn't want to see Hooper leave. If we were to increase our bid they may accept to let him go.
  2. Many many thanks to qsaint for bringing this blog and article to everyone's attention. Rarely have I felt more proud of my life long support of Southampton Football Club. We long term supporters have seen it all. " To hell and back" would be a worthy description. If the lads make the Premiership as Champions this season it will be an incredible nd worthy repayment of Marcus Liebherr's faith in Saints future. Rarely have I been more convinced that we have someone in the form of Marcus looking down upon us all with that amazing huge smile of his, contented that he has brought so much happiness to the supporters of Saints and the people of Southampton.
  3. This is all a replay of what Paris Saint Germaine (PSG) are playing over here in France to attract good players, to show ambition and land a good manager, good players. We have a good manager, good players but all this Hooper story is showing one and all Saints mean business and are ready to spend to achieve their ambitions.
  4. Thoroughly agree posting it where our Brighton cousins can view the libel openly is only asking for troubles

Disgusted. Telling me each time that confirmation emails can't be sent out till tomorrow. What kind of people created websites that do such things a few hours before the petition closes.
  6. What a player, what a video!! Has brought tears to my eyes on what might have been.
  7. The solicitors are going to have a field day handling the libelous remarks on this thread. Some people never learn. Perhaps adding smilies or something to show it's said in jest would be a good start to clean this thread up
  8. I'm sticking to my own concoctions. The Mountain Dew ingredients don't look very healthy to me, “carbonated water, High-fructose corn syrup, concentrated orange juice, citric acid, natural flavors, sodium benzoate, caffeine, sodium citrate, erythorbic acid, gum arabic, calcium disodium EDTA, brominated vegetable oil, and yellow 5.
  9. I have often posted in the past that when a team aren't playing up to standard, leaving out their best player, whether deliberately, by resting or by match bans, the rest of the team will up their game. Too often teams tend to relie too much on certain players and gradually form falls away little by little. I'm hoping when Ricky returns we'll be well and truly back to our best with everyone playing 100%
  10. French news has just announced that Paris St Germain have just agreed fees with Manchester City for Carlos TEVEZ. Somehow the idiot seems to think Paris is nearer to Argentina. Can't wait for him to sign up for someone and bring a bit of sanity back to the Premiership.
  11. I've found Mountain Dew refreshing in hot weather when I've come across it. Nowadays I concoct my own soft drinks using cheap "fruit flavored effervescent vitamins" from LIDL placed in a 2 litre bottle of tap water and sweetened with aspartame. I occasionally add 10 % orange juice, or multi fruit juice or lemon juice. I swear most taste identical to soda's sold in supermarkets but costs next to nothing and non fattening.
  12. If we are thinking of signing players not better than those we have already, what's the point. Surely we are building for the Premiership and not immediate relegation. Sitting on the bench is a learning curve and enables a player to prepare to maximise coming into play
  13. It wasn't Britannia itself, but the running costs that saw the Royal Yacht being put into retirement. Surely there are enough Saudi Kings, Princes to buy and run a new one for the Jubilee celebrations. The suggestion of paying out for a new one is one of the worse suggestions to come out of the Coalition. Maybe Europe heads of State could fund one for multi usage.
  14. Surely in this day and age some billionaire luxury yacht owner can step forward and make hids yacht available to Her Majesty for a month or two each year. I object at her age to the public funding such a project, which would end up being used by Prince Charles and Camilla who have plenty of income to fund the project. In fact, it would be a nice gesture of Charles to buy mummy a yacht, knowing it would fall back into his hands at a later date.
  15. Without doubt Delgado, and going way back David Burnside was a huge disappointment considering the great expectations when he arrived at the Dell. Although a huge fan of Kevin Davies, his re-signing for Saints heralded big things yet he was generally a huge disappointment till he moved to Bolton.
  16. Thoroughly agree with you on Harry knowing a good player when it comes to midfield and forwards. Defenders he's not so hot, at least during his time at Saints. Having been a winger himself I think he understands that position better than most.
  17. The same thing entered into my thinking. The Juventus -Switzerland-Sandbanks connection. If Sandra's luxury yacht "Bung" was moored out in the Solent then you can be sure of dodgy dealings. I'll wager everyone that it was Harry that first introduced NC to the club. This is going to be the big breaking story one of these days.
  18. I was only being first on the latest bandwagon for a war amongst Saints supporters over how his name is pronounced. Yago is the Italian version of the name Iago so this is Saintswebs World War 3 topic in the coming months. I'm sure he'll end up being called Fred once everyone's seen him play.
  19. His actual name is IAGO but it's pronounced YAGO in the UK. Real pronounciation EE AH GO
  20. I guess Southampton's nearer to Sandbanks than north London. Sandra's always number one in Harry's thoughts. I guess Iago is problably one of Sandra's toy boy acquisitions from her holidays in Spain. As long as he doesn't come with Kevin Bond's blessings and a Ides of March curse tag.
  21. Tragic that 5 years after our own Administration the Football League has been unable to negociate with the Premiership a means to aid and support clubs in the lower leagues. My sympathies to the Darlington Supporters.
  22. Moody's have decided to allow France to keep the triple A A A, 3 days after Standard's downgrade. This is a welcome relief for France, for Sarkozy for now. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-16573452
  23. A new twist in another deal. Leicester just announced that the SHARP deal looks dead and they won't be offering any more. Seems SHARP himself doesn't want to play for Leicester.
  24. With Lennon quoting 35 million valuation, could it be that Liverpool are aiming to push in and do a swop of Andy Carroll for Gary Hooper?
  25. I have to say that James Beattie was written off immediately after he signed, including famously by Saintsforever's Keith Legg who saw no future for Beatts. Surprisingly I believe Saints ended up getting the very best out of him including a good transfer fee,.
