It's action we need not words from the manager. He seems to talk a good talk, he now needs to motivate the players. Has done a good job up until now, judge him at the end of the season.

Shocking result for all the loyal fans, but let's face the reality. Our worst defeat of the season to an under strength side who haven't scored in their last four games. Yes the Lambert sending off may have been a turning point but we couldn't score whilst he was on the pitch. Worrying times, and unless we quickly improve we will slip down the table and even miss a play off place. Thank goodness for our form up to December or we would be looking at relegation now. Some new faces in January might help but the manager now needs a serious talk with all the players.

Always going to lose at home sometime but to a team 3rd from bottom! Wonder what will happen when we play the good teams. Anyway what a great 2011 our team have given us, a win at Brighton will be a nice start to 2012.

It was the players who let the manager down again today, but he has to sort out this poor away form. Lost to Bristol City who were the better side (3rd from bottom), lost to Doncaster who were the better side (bottom). The manager says we don't get carried away when we win or lose. I am not sure that the fans agree. We are still top but have given hope to the chasing pack, surely that is our bad patch for the season!

Brighton know how to play consistently well and score goals, Saints ...........

Cracking game that we should have won but poor defensive display against a good team that can score goals. Not anywhere good enough for automatic promotion so the play offs will have to do. Still a long way to go to match the consistency of Brighton who are sure to go up.

Only 11 goals scored in 12 games and 4 of those against Bristol Rovers! Defensive record not bad but we must score more goals to give ourselves a chance. Another disappointing day to be a Saints fan.

Promotion is now out of the question. What a useless bunch of players, they continue to let their supporters down. Worse team that I have ever seen at Southampton.

It's hard being a Saints supporter isn't it? What a rollercoaster ride we are in for again this season, let's hope the players show a bit more guts on Saturday. Beaten by Swindon again, I despair!

Can't understand this at all! If they wanted to get rid of AP why didn't they do it at the end of last season? Lets get a manager who has had success in the past not a failure who has been sacked by a previous club. Southampton FC have now totally lost their reputation as a successful well managed club ( were they ever?)

Don't need to spend any more money, the players we have are good enough but have to improve.!

Yes yes yes!

Plays off were never really on after drawing so many games and -10 start. However I have mostly enjoyed this season and now we must look forward to next. Well done lads!

Lets put this game behind us (look at Norwich since we beat them) and enjoy the rest of the season with hopefully a lot more wins. Play offs were always going to be difficult to achieve but i suppose we had a bit of a chance if we could win at crap places like Wycombe, Exeter, Brentford and Tranmere. Give AP a chance and if he doesn't achieve next season then we'll have to see.

Just not good enough is it. Spending all that money and getting no results for it. We should be beating teams like Exeter and Brentford and it shows just how low we have sunk. However we are now a difficult side to beat but still find it difficult to keep a clean sheet.

No chance of the play offs and relegation still a possibility. We have to beat teams above us in the table and manage to keep clean sheets.

Sorry can't be positive , nothing to be positive about. Very poor performance with a total lack of attacking ideas against one of the worst defences in the league. Defence cannot keep a clean sheet against any team. Back to the drawing board. Play offs - you must be joking!

Excellent post from landford.saint. Been a Saints supporter for nearly 50 years and can't suddenly stop because of bad results. I am glad we still have a club to follow but like everybody else get more depressed week by week. Give us some wins and we will all cheer up, we have a good manager and the basis of a good team.

1 win in 10 games is unacceptable and at this rate we will be relegated by Christmas. I cannot see us winning many games if the manager continues to insist that we have a good team!

The right thing is to get his side to win a game!

I don't think we would win against 8, 9 or 10 men. No wins all season will create yet another depressing record.
