Thats true, and a good point from adrian. Personally I wouldnt particularly like to live anywhere else, buts that probably because I was born and brought up here and my family are here. Cant really see the city of Southampton as being a selling point to prospective players, except that its handy for just about everywhere else they might want to get to, (airport, trains, motorways....) What I cant understand is why any player ever signs for portsmouth ffs, we're not the worlds greatest city but how could anybody even consider living there if they had any other option? .............. oh, hang on.......

Always liked him, he was a great laugh on IAK and I cant think of anyone else who could have done that particular job (especially the royal one which was priceless). His footy summaries/commentaries are good fun, I always listen out for him on 5 live.

If it really had only been a minority of fans who didnt want Hoddle back then he certainly would have come back. Every Saints fan I know bar one was dead against him returning, and even the one in favour of it thought that the additional pressure on him because of the nature of his previous departure probably made it a bad idea.
