  1. This. But whatever we say about the sides England have played while he's been a permanent fixture in the team, the bottom line is that becoming the top scorer for your national side is a huge achievement.
  2. Each to his own.
  3. I can't believe we've had 25 posts on this thread without a single reference to pistorious. Hang your heads in shame.
  4. I'm concerned that you've formed an opinion on that.
  5. Who cares anyway. He did a job for us, and I'm grateful for it. He *****ed off in a rather unfortunate manner, so I'm not really bothered about what happens to him now. I cannot imagine any circumstances in which he could possibly return to the club, so to me it's a sterile debate.
  6. Clattenburg is never right. But as to the hypothetical scenario, I can't see lallana coming back here at all, much less being welcomed by the fans. Never going to happen anyway.
  7. All day session of what?
  8. Their wage bill must be pretty hefty, that's probably what pilchards was referring to
  9. Yes, but only because I've got plans for my secretary.
  10. Fair play to both of them. MLT is an absolutely top bloke, as his appearance at the home of one of my wife's friends in Ringwood proved beyond any doubt in my mind. She had doorstepped him at his house, explained it was her sons 18th birthday, and could he drop by and visit. And he did. Made the nippers day, I couldn't believe it.
  11. Don't hold your breath.
  12. Well said. It's about time he got the credit he deserves, I've been irritated by the negative stuff posted on here about him.
  13. How many forward passes does he miss then? How much of our attacking play goes via him? Would you be happy if he left?
  14. Pellè would be a huge loss for us. I'm sick of hearing on the forum about how sh*t he is, he's always working and moving, if his flick ons and layoffs don't go to anyone it's nearly always because there's nobody getting into the space he's created.
  15. This time last year, toby was a makeweight last minute desperation replacement for lovren. Tadic was a poor mans lallana. Pelle was a duplicate of lambert, but not as good. We've barely seen this years crop yet, and the transfer window hasn't closed. As far as I know, we are still likely to sign vvd, let's see what happens when we have a full squad available to play.
  16. Not exactly hardcore, is it. Roll on September and the end of the school holidays.
  17. It may have escaped your notice, but RK is on crutches at the moment. A minor detail, but one worth mentioning.
  18. In the first ten minutes, I thought we would walk that, we looked by far the better side. But christ almighty, what was the hoofball about? I know Ron said we'd be going direct, but wtaf?? Maybe we've been spoiled during the rise back up through the leagues, but it's hard to stomach watching that style of play when we've all been slating other teams for it in the past. "We are Southampton, we play on the ground...." The only things I can think of are that Ron is injured, which can't do much for his own confidence generally, what with hobbling around on crutches unable to get into the technical area. The squad is depleted already, and I don't know how easy it's going to be integrating the new arrivals quickly into the team. Other than that, it's all good.
  19. They had clearly been instructed to do that. RK said precisely as much before the game. The game plan didn't work, no point blaming the players for following instructions.
  20. This.
