I don't think it is about celebrating success, but more that there is a market for it. Cortese should see this as a good business idea, rather than a celebration of success.

They won't even look at it when you part exchange it. Every time I have part exchanged a car they look at the bodywork and that's it. If you sell privately, to not tell the purchaser of the fault would be completely out of order.

Two things tie together quite strongly about these posters that have no praise for Adkins: 1. They clearly come from a background or upbringing where praise was/is absent. In some cases, it may even have been seen as something of a weakness to give praise. This has carried through to adulthood. 2. Their aggressive posting styles match neatly with this, as they are clearly trying to get attention. Like kids in schools who play up because of a lack of attention at home, any attention is good for these people as bad attention is at least some sort of attention. Perhaps they lacked attention in their upbringing too. I know this is the case with me, anyway.

When was the last time we had a manager for three seasons or more? History tells us that Adkins will probably not make it through to next summer. I hope that Cortese has the patience to give Saints the continuity they have lacked for decades. The new contract is a really good confidence boost for Adkins, and a bold statement by Cortese, but he is still very ambitious and therefore ruthless. A bad start I fear would see Adkins gone, contract or not. And God knows that if we aren't top by October 99% of the posters on here will be spotting O'Neill in St. Mary's car park. Though, as I said before, given enough time Adkins would get us into the Premiership. IMHO.
