But he hasn't played a full match because he's tired after 70 mins.
-
Must be an injury to Fox, he's been rather good coming on as a sub for Shaw the last two games.

A panic buy can turn out rather good, their not always doomed to fail. Besides, the fact that he is the captain of the No.24 of the world and played at the Olympics makes him a more likely candidate to be a panic buy. Players with merits that are not actuall football quality (i.e. caps, being captain, having played for a big team once, etc.) are more likely to become a panic buy. Panic buy just means you didn't scout a player as thoroughly as you would have liked to. I can see that being the case with Yoshida.
-
The Guardian had Yoshida as their MOTM for the QPR game. i thought he had a good game as well, he was very agressive in his marking of Cisse which meant he hardly ever got the ball. He's had a few stinkers as well but not as bad as you are making him out to be. His biggest asset must be his pace which enables us to defend higher up the pitch, can't really do that which Jos in the PL. But one thing you are right about, we needed two CBs in the summer and only got one late on. Your conclusion that Yoshida was a bit of a panic buy might not be far off.

Its rather nice in the winter, especially if you're a bit further up north. You don't get much light in december-januari but the landscape is beautiful during the hours you do get some sun. I've been living here long enough to apply for Swedish citizenship and could even keep my Dutch one but mainly because of the cost I haven't done it yet.

I think he's a decent ref but he tends to be rather quick with handing out yellow cards. Plus, he's a Newcastle fan, if we embarrass them this weekend how will he react the week after.
-
I agree to some extend but the genuine quality goalkeeper has not been fit enough and not really mentally up to it either. So unless Boruc has showed in training the he is fit and has the mentality to fight for the team then I think Gazza should continue.

The Guardian went for Maya Yoshida. Odd choice... http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/nov/18/southampton-qpr-nigel-adkins

Kelvin isn't good enough for the PL, he showed it in the first few matches this season and in his earlier spell in the PL with Sunderland. Gazza has showed a lot of promise but a 20-year old goallie will make mistakes and I'm not sure we can afford those. Boruc looked poor in the matches he has played so far and will have the crowd on his back within no time if he makes the smallest mistake. I do believe that he is the best goallie at the moment if he is match-fit and he's up for it mentally. If Boruc is ready physically and mentally is something Adkins will have to assess and if he is not Gazza is my choice.

Punch not doing his defensive work? Really? He always tracks-back to cover his man and Clyne is never exposed in the same way Shaw/Fox are (even though that has been better the last two matches). Puncheon was world-class yesterday. Eventhough Gazza was to blame for the goal some blame has to go to the defense. Hoilett was totally unmarked which was probably why Gazza felt he needed to leave his line. I think it was Lallana who was marking Hoilett on the edge of the box but didn't follow him in but it seems to me that someone else should have picked up him there instead of our left-winger.
-
He was everywhere and his work ethic is brilliant. I have no problem having this Puncheon on my team. Cork was awesome as well, but Puncheon was just as solid defensively as he was the difference offensively.
-
Well, that's pretty much the point I was making. We didn't get 1/2 penalties because Lallana lost his credibility with the dive in the first (which was a dive). Awful decision from Marriner but Lallana should stay on his feet so that he actually gets the decision when he should get it.
-
I'm not sure Williams clattering him was a penalty, but it wasn't a dive. But how can you say that Monk's tackle on Adam isn't a penalty? Lallana plays the ball past him and he just steps right in front of him. Stonewall penalty, nothing to argue about.
-
Marriner screwed up and should have given us one and perhaps two penalties but in the end Lallana's dive in the first half cost him (and Saints). When Lallana dived when he and Rangel where shoulder to shoulder and wanted the penalty Marriner took notice and warned Lallana. When he then got barged over by Williams he gets a yellow for diving which was absolutely ridiculous but he also has to look at himself. If he doesn't start looking for it in the first situation then Marriner wouldn't be as sceptical in later situations. I for one am totally convinced we would have gotten a penalty for at least the Monk tackle if Lallana hadn't taken a dive in the first.
-
Perhaps, but at the same time we were creating chances. Take Ramirez of for Rodriguez and you change the shape of the team and the momentum you have. The same goes for bringing on Davis. I thought Schneiderlin perhaps needed a sub with him tiring and already on a yellow but I can understand why he stayed on the pitch. I have no problem with the tactics today. We did enough to win and a stupid mistake combined with us not getting a stonewall penalty and missing chances cost us the game. Not the substitutions.
-
Why is MLT talking about a player neither on the pitch or the bench.
-
The problems that the defense are having are start in the midfield. They don't get enough protection and the opposition get too much time and space to run at our back-line with the ball and playing throughballs. A better CB would be a huge plus but first and foremost we need to start defending as a team with the midfield giving our defense some protection. In short, I'd rather have Cork in midfield as a holding midfielder.
-
Makes sense. The only way we will see him in a Saints shirt again is if we go down.
-
He didn't really try yesterday though. No effort going forward, sloppy passing and tracking back he was awful. He didn't have a lot of options in front of him but when they were there he didn't dare to use them. He's been very good so far this season but that was just plain ****.
-
He's been **** in most matches but he was decent today. That has nothing to do with a "love" for Fox.
-
He still had them during the Spurs match, the second half was good. They fought, believed and came close to snatching a draw. But today it was absolute ****. It started with Davis' bad pass after 3 mins and we just continued being awful. After the 1-0 we never put up a fight. Nobody made runs, we kept passing backwards. Nobody stepped up and showed the way. One win is all we need to bring some of that confidence back but at the moment I can't see where that win will be coming from.
-
True, true. You know why, because he had to defend against two opponents. You know who was supposed to be helping him? Lallana You know where he was? Watching the ball as usual. Look at the goals again when you're sober and you might actually get it.
-
No confidence No effort No luck I could have taken a loss if we had shown some effort but he has lost the squad. They don't believe in his tactics and he can't motivate them anymore.
