  1. Ajax is my favourite (fingers crossed for that friendly!) team in the Netherlands so its quite hard to admit a Feyenoord player being any good but Guidetti is a very good player. He was the absolute leader of Feyenoord on and off the field. It is telling how many points Feyenoord lost when he was injured/suspended. The only thing is I wouldn't want him as a bench player, I'm not sure he'd react to well to that. He's been quite adamant he doesn't want to be at City next season if there's no place for him in the first team and I can't imagine that sitting on the bench at Saints will be to his liking. But if we don't sign Rodriguez I can't see why he won't be one of our first choice players.
  2. I like the new Sweden shirt and wouldn't mind Southampton having a similar design with a white background and thin red stripes.
  3. Coaches blaiming a loss on a corner that perhaps shouldn't have been given is ridiculous straw clutching. Penalty decisions, red card decisions and perhaps freekicks just outside the penalty area are big decisions you can use to blame a loss on. Can you imagine a manager blaming a draw on a corner that wasn't given? I can understand a manager protecting his team from media scrutiny, that's their job. But this just sounds silly and desperate and has the opposite effect.
  4. Anders Svensson has been very positive about 'Arry. He said: "A nice guy yes, but I never noticed himhaving any tactical knowledge" http://www.aftonbladet.se/sportbladet/fotboll/landslagsfotboll/ovrigalandslag/article14342509.ab
  5. Birmingham - Saints will be shown via Unibet, if you don't mind a small screen and they risk of being tempted into a bet you will probably lose its a good option.
  6. European. Europe has. Its faults but all in all I'm positive.
  7. I think there might be a spelling mistake in the topic title. Shouldn't it say Nugent ****?
  8. We still need an other CB in my opinion. At the start of the season we had Fonte (Quality), Seaborne (Decent), Martin (Promising) and Hooiveld (At that time a questionmark). Now we have two quality CB's (Fonte & Hooiveld) but only Martin as backup (don't really know if we can count on Seaborne anytime soon). We need a quality backup for Fonte and Hooiveld, preferably one that can play RB aswell.
  9. 4) A rightwing, Harding can't play right wingback. Please put Richardson on at HT.
  10. The match will be shown through unibets website, on csports.se and on canal+ fotboll. Plenty to choose from.
  11. Csports.se is showing the match against Nothingham on saturday. It might also be on TV4 Sport but the TV guide only mentions "The Championship".
  12. He did his TV interviews in Dutch. I'm not convinced at all he knew a lot of English before coming to England.

    Bale

That was for the sell-on percentage. Correct me if I'm wrong but don't we still get the fee for Bale playing for us when he was between 12 and 18?
  14. He was awful be we have absolutely nothing to complain about. Sure he could have given a penalty in the first half for the handball and perhaps for obstruction but they would have been very weak. Both of them were 50-50 decision and he was letting a lot go in the first half so I can see why he didn't give pens there. In the second half Hammond got a deserved yellow for diving, he went down before contact was made. The penalty we did get was one of the most shocking decisions I have seen in a loooong time. It was clearly outside and Fonte wasn't even moving towards the penalty area, he was moving parallel to it. In Walton defense though, the assistant was much better positioned and he should have seen that it was outside the box. After the 2-0 he actually he should have send-off one more Brighton player (Navarro for that lunge on Schneiderlin), that challenge was ****ing awful and because he got a yellow he can't get any subsequent punishment....
  15. There's one that popped up into my head straight away but it is quite strange that not more players from Eastern Africa play in Europe. Its not a lack of interest, I read an article about football in Kenya some time ago and the interest in mainly English football was huge.
  16. http://tvplaneten.tv4.se/1.311852?date=2011-11-19&view=full&selectedArticleContentId=1.311852 Saints vs. Brighton starts at 16:00 according to this. A good alternative to the unreliable TV4 Sport is CSports Web-TV, I've using it to watch Dutch football and the good thing about the Web-TV subscripton is that you can even watch matches they don't actually broadcast on CanalPlus channels or Tv4Sport online. The Boro match for instance was't broadcasted on a channel but I could watch it on the web TV.
  17. That and he was played out wide most of the time. In his earlier years in Sweden he was an offensive minded central midfielder but after his period at Saints he changed his play to be more of a holding midfielder that dictates the tempo of play. I wonder is he would have been been suitable for that role at Saints.
  18. In Sweden I support Färjestads BK, one of the more successful teams the last decades. Besides that I follow the NHL as much as I can but I don't really have a favourite team. I don't mind the Senators, mainly because they have some really exciting Swedish talents on their roster at the moment. Erik Karlsson might just be the most skilled defenseman in the whole NHL!
  19. Anyone in their right mind. So, maybe one or two?
  20. If the bouncer was acting in self-defense wouldn't Seaborne be charged? I guess there's just not enough evidence.
  21. Why didn't they just show the first half with a 15 minute delay??
  22. Well, I guess I'm the odd one out since I seem to be the only one without any kind of connection to the city of Southampton. I grew up in the Netherlands and watching MOTD as a teenager MLT was my idol so I started supporting Saints. A few years ago I moved to Valbo just outside Gävle. I don't have to worry about my son supporting Saints just yet, he's only 1,5 so there's some time left. Btw Majestic, the worst sport your son could become a fan of is not bandy, its the indoor version. I'm not sure you can call innebandy a sport anyway, its just something you do during PE.
  23. I'm almost speechless, I can't remember many Saints goals of this quality without this guy named Matt involved. To score 5 of them is just amazing. Our away shirts do look very Brazilian. ;-)
  24. 5 subs does seem very little and as a coach it means you have to make some tough decisions before the match. Do you take an extra goalie, do you take a winger, wing back, central midfielder/defender, etc. With 5 subs there will always be a position that is not covered properly in case of an injury. Just because of that I'd say 7 subs is preferable. But that does ofcourse favour bigger teams with large squads. So why not have a rule that you have a system where you have 5 regular subs and 2 youth players (U20 with at least 2 years at the club before the age of 18). That would encourage teams to first of all produce good quality players from their own academy and secondly it gives these players the possibility to get a taste of action if they are good enough (or if the score allows it).
  25. Killer came on as a late sub in Halmstads last two matches. He's officially back.
