It's seems to me that some people would only be happy if we were 10 points clear at the top of the table for the whole season. How f#####g boring would that be. We are right in the mix and the ups and downs are what gets the adrenaline racing. Yes there still needs some work done on the team but there is a lot to be positive about. Come on guys this is the Saints it's never going to be an easy ride but it will always be entertaining!!

How could I not love a club who gave me the FA Cup as a 24th birthday present. Was in South Africa and it was before tv so had to listen on radio. What a day.

Automatic promotion still very possible. Ok I have been a supporter for 45 years and am an eternal optimist. But remember it's not over until it's over. Let's hold on until the new guy is in and has a few games under his belt until we all start slitting our wrists.

That's assuming that NC intended sacking AP in the first place which I seriously doubt was the case. The Echo saying their pressure may have changed NC s mind is in my opinion just spin.

There was obviously nothing for NC to comment on as AP's future was not in doubt. The press in this country, especially the sports press, are renowned for groundless speculation and for trying to create conflict where there is none. I think that it is highly commendable that NC, like the England manager, refuses to rise to their baiting. All is well at SMS and long will it remain so as long as we have the current management team in place. So let's leave the speculation for who do we think will be brought into the team and how many points will we win league 1 by next season.

I beleive that alpinesaint belongs to the "light blue touch paper and stand well back" brigade. We should award him a wooden spoon, a very large one, so he can keep on stirring. I mean he doesn't have a very open mind if he believes in the Daily Mail!! Can't wait for next season. For me it's not just that we are having a great season (playoffs or not). It's the fact that we have such a great future ahead of us. We are on the verge of bouncing back better and bigger than we have ever been before. This is a very exciting time to be a Saint.

Good posting Chrisobee. It does my head in when the gormless twits start their inane ravings when we don't win a game. Would I like us to make the playoffs of course I would but if we don't you still won't be able to wipe the smile of my face. Alan Pardew has shown beyond any reasonable doubt that he has the measure of this league and hopefully the championship. His signings and tactics plus a great attitude which permeates down to the players will be rewarded next season with automatic promotion. Let's get behind him and stop dissecting every result that isn't a win. Come on the progress this season is truly more than we could have hoped for last August. Being a Saint makes me smile. Try it!!!

Can someone please explain to me what "becoming more consistant means". Does it mean winning every game or not losing any games because no team in any league can be that consistant. I think we are going along very well and learning as we go. 8 months ago I would have bitten your arm off to be where we are now. Next season consistency for me will mean staying inthe top six all seaon and finishing in the top two.

I think the posters putting down the JPT are being very unkind to the lower league teams who maybe will play at a higher level and why shouldn't they have an opportunity to play at Wembley. Let's not put them down. We are very fortunate to have the infrastructure and the backing that we have. That will get us back to the premiership but let's not undermine the value this competition has for lower league teams. I couldn't get a ticket but will still enjoy the day and if we win I will be happy to join in any celebrations going without any embarrasment whatsoever.

Loved watching Brian in the early 70's socks rolled down, shirt outside shorts and always held his shirt cuffs in his fists. Great player, great work rate ,great football brain. Glad to here Big Ron is coming on strong.
