  1. Just as a point of interest and comparison Crystal Palace have a tiered membership system - they have a silver membership for £25, a gold level at £55 and an international level at £45.0o. So £25.00 for Saints membership is not really a bad deal and not unusual in the PL.
  2. I was there, 19 years old and I thought we'd be back at Wembley every other year - the folly of youth! Looking back i realise now what a great achievement it was for the club to beat Manure that day. Great memories!
  3. Loved it! M**herf**kers!
  4. Is this question directed to me ??? If so please let me assure you that I'm very friendly. Maybe one day we'll meet and then you can truly judge for yourself after talking to me and getting to know me, rather than speculating from behind the keyboard.
  5. well I didn't see you there to back me up, so I decided to leave. Next time give me your mobile so I can call you and ask for your protection, d*ck!
  6. Good job RK didn't listen to OP and leave him out!
  7. yep - I fully agree, we need to beat Spurs!!
  8. I just hope we win a game!!! After that I can relax................
  9. I agree but I'd much prefer it if he was an Arsenal clown than a Saints clown!
  10. On the BBC web-site, under Southampton: "Luke Bryant, 26, from Lymington, pleaded guilty before Southampton magistrates and was banned for 3 years and fined £500 and ordered to pay £200 costs. Bryant, ran with his arms outstretched in front of the Gunners' boss as he sat in the dugout. It is believed he is an Arsenal fan, but Arsene Wenger said at the time he thought the man was a Saints fan." Does anybody know if he is a Saints fan or if he supports Arsenal???
  11. We were told by the staff in the The White Star that they could not serve away fans - they did have a notice on the door but we missed in on the way in. To be fair, as it was just after mid-day, they did give us a drink but told us to cover our shirts. We then went to the Glebe and aslo left without buying a drink, partly because the folks they were staring at us and it was not a very comfortbale atmosphere. After the game we went to the Weatherspoons - just round the corner from the The White Star and were served a drink and ordered food, only for the manager to come over to ask us to leave as his staff had made a mistake serving away fans. The only reason we were given for this approach was that their license was linked to not serving away fans, becuase they were worried that the Stoke fans would start trouble. The away fans pub - The Terrace - was bit of a dump and didn't serve food. I have to say not a great enticement to ever go back to Stoke.
  12. Slight change of subject but still linked to Stoke. We were very surprised to be told by several pubs in the city centere that they could not serve away fans - not because away fans had caused trouble but because the Stoke fans were likely to kick off. A bizarre situation which I've not seen elsewhere, and this wasn't a case of telling us this is where the rowdy home fans drink, one of the establishments was a Weatherspoon's pub. Just imagine if the Giddy Bridge stopped serving away fans ???? and while we're on this topic - the designated pub for away fans - no food except packets of crisps!!! (I guess away fans don't need to eat becaase they are too busy getting hammered before the game to bother with food).
  13. From where I live (Sussex) there's no real option to get home after the game on the train - I don't fancy an overnighter so I've decided to drive this time. I normally go by train so I can have a few beers. I haven't bothered looking at flight options.
  14. There's a shuttle bus near the station or you can walk - if the weather's nice and I've had enough beer I might walk it
  15. I vote for the option where we finish 5th!
  16. Don't know about other Saints supporters but here's some pubs I've researched. I'm probably going to visit them in roughly the order below. I may save the Coachmakers Arms for a post game pint. 1/.White Star (Titanic Brewery), 63 Kingsway ST4 1JD. Has a great range of five Titanic beers and four guest ales to try, a relaxed and friendly atmosphere here. 2/. The Glebe (Joules Brewery), 35 Glebe Street ST4 1HG. Re-established to brew the famous Joules Pale Ale. 3/. Coachmakers Arms, 65 Lichfield Street ST1 3EA. According to CAMRA, “a gem”, also recognised as having a nationally important historic pub interior, comprising of a small bar, four rooms and a drinking corridor; the front bar is small and snug, only holding around eight people, whilst the front right-hand room is larger and more cosy, with a real fire for those colder days. 4/. Terrace Bar, 185 Leek Road, ST4 2BW. Appears to be the official away fans pub. The pub which is only five minute’s walk from the railway station (turn right out of the station entrance, left at the crossroads and the pub is down on the left)
  17. This - chill out and enjoy the rest of the season, we are staying up!!!
  18. Would love a European tour.............. it would cap the end to a great season.
  19. Your chances increase if the game is moved to a Sunday and it's on TV, but outside of that it may be tricky. This is a game I'd like to go to but fear I may not get the tickets.
  20. A good article and very interesting to read about his motivation to succeed. He has developed and improved while at Saints.
  21. I remember the first time I saw him, thinking that he looked a class player. His positioning and running into the box was intelligent and looked a level above Lge1
  22. What exactly was that all about ??????????
  23. Is it time for the nuns yet??? that'll cheer us up!
  24. Yeah but he has passion for his club!!!!
