Just need some signings to see concrete activity after the great build-up. Just hope he can build a team capable of beating Spurs and Liverpool next season, just so we can fell better about ourselves and stick one in the eye of the recently departed!

The one thing he said that I found interesting was that we hadn't received as many bids as he had expected, there had been lots of enquiries but not many bids. Otherwise, as others have said, this was a reassuring interview. For me we need to announce the next manager as soon as we can and then re-assess things.

I'll only move to a club where the half-time pie and pint is better than St.Mary's - then I can leave after 30 mins of the first half to enjoy them, rather than waiting until 35 mins as I do today.

A good article but the author needs to step back from where he is today and realise that this is not a unique situation. It's all part of growing up, growing older. I was really disappointed when Mike Channon left the Saints for Man City - just in case you've forgotten, he is our highest ever score, with more goals more than Le Tiss. These things happen and they will happen again. If you follow football for most of your life (let's say 60 years) then you'll see a lot of changes to your team over that time. Some will be romantic like Le Tiss, some will be upsetting like Mike Channnon. What is important is that you put things into perspective, the only certainty in life is that change always happens. I'll be more than happy if Adam stays, but if wants to leave then let him and let's move on and find a new hero, a new icon for the Southampton team...

I still remember after his goal for England against Scotland, the first game of the season was at West Brom, he scored a penalty and came straight over to the fans to celebrate. He knew we loved him and he loved us! Disappointed that he didn't finish his career with but then again he went out on a high, scoring that lovely goal against Man U.

Nice analogy, it sums up how I feel when feeling a bit down about Saints. However, I'm usually positive and when I heard Ronald Kuman was a possible next manager then I start to feel very positive - check out his record - if this happens this would be a possible two steps up from Poch!!!

Jeez, I hate to say but it looks like Pompey have more loyal supporters than Saints. Just reading this thread you'd think we'd just gone through a triple relegation and face a season in league two with a bunch of part time players...... How about Marc Albrighton? Just left Villa, but whenever I saw him last season thought he looked a good player. we could sign him for less than we get for SRL (if he goes).

He's a player we should keep - does a solid job, nothing too fancy but dependable - shame he hasn't scored more goals.
