Just read the article and, of course I agreed with every word!!!

Great post Gemmel! I've always enjoyed reading the "back from the game" posts on SWF, especially when I haven't been able to get to the game. I especially liked your point about Osvaldo, being the lone striker is a difficult role to play well for 90 mins. There have been many games where SRL has played that role and also been lambasted on here for not being "good enough", it's easy to forget that we were playing away from home, at OT, and against the PL Champions - any lone striker is not going to hit 5 goals. We should be more tolerant.

How long can roy ignore our other English players?

Watched the game on a stream and had the priveledge to see it 3 or 4 times on replays - it was a superb tackle! the commentators were still trying to figure out how he'd managed to run so fast and catch him (WellbecK) up - it's worth staying up for MOTD to see it again! -
Match report from the Man U Talking Red forum ....

Interesting view that celebrating Saints fans is seen as extra special because it was a shock late equalizer and nothing to do to with the pure fact that we had scored?? I always go mental when we score away from home - it comes from many years of watching Saints away and we rarely scored!!! -

How often have you, in your time as a Saints fan, celebrated the team being 4th in the top league? Stop being such a miserable person. -
......... Beating United will be pleasing but could be pretty insignificant come the end of the season.......

Saints win at OT for me!
-
I don't want to think of the abuse he would get if we had drawn or lost - we did actually win today!
-
Fantastic goal keeping today from Bruc (his kicking is still a bit sh*t though). Great result today. Swansea are a good team and it's no surprise they had posession and efforts, but all credit to Saints for defending well and taking our chances...

Thanks for starting the thread - I'm lazy and very happy to get recommendatinos from other people !!!

Just don't buy it, then you'll never be upset by what it does or doesn't feature....

Love him ! (as a footballer that is), does deserve a song but so does spiderman.....
-
You can't be very old otherwise you would remember the slow version was always sang by the whole ground back in the delldays... Slow or fast it's our song!! Do not give up our heritage to anyone!

I have to admit that I loved the stroy and the confidence, but I didn't think I'd see Saints sitting 4th in the Premiership. It's been a great journey and I winder where we'll be in 3 years from today ?? How about: A League Cup winner, regular top 10 finish in PL and 2 seasons in Europe, getting better in the second after a dodgy first effort....................

I hope this works out for you. I think the advice already provided above makes sense.
-
I hope so - despite the steep ticket prices I fancy us to get a point and want to be there to see it!

Would you get rid of Fonte? Thought he had a good game as well, not sure he warrants replacement.

Disappointed, I think he adds attacking options for us - would have been good to bring him on on Saturday as sub. -
Still paying off his mortgage! Just goes to show how the money earned by footballers has changed drastically.

Save our Stripes campaign - T-Shirt now available

Post 3 in thread from Dubai Phil, "Everyone has been out shopping today and will all be wearing Lambert 20 England shirts in Protest instead" This will be more of a celebration than a protest. The issue is not dead. I not buy this year's shirt and I wore R&W stripes to yesterday's game as a form of protest. -
Bearsy, great report. Maybe you could add some comments on connectivity between Saints and the team you report on - e.g. Kevin Philips and Lawrie Mac, to help draw some more illuminating observations.

I thought JWP and Chambers had a fantastic game on the left hand side - they looked like they had been in the team for ages the way they played - full credit to them and the contribution they made. We bossed the game in the first half and the Baggies responded in the 2H but only created 3 good chances (from memory - the Boruc save, the last minute tackle from Fonte and the fluffed chance from the low level cross). Some strange decisions from the ref almost ruined what was a good game of footie. My only crticism of Saints was the kicking of Boruc (especialy when compared to Foster, who started soem good counter attacks with accurate down field kicks), and the lack of impact when Ramirez came on - why not Puncheon??? A great away win with no yellow cards!

What a fantastic night for Rickie!! Spontaneously let out a big cheer when I heard he had scored! Can't wait for Saturday - Rickie Lambert England's Goal machine!

Great news, cheered me up no end! Congratulations to SRL!
