  1. So we could end up finishing 8th in the PL, are able to go away from home and play attractive and dominating football, allowing Lallana, J-Rod, Shaw and Ward-Prowse to be selected to play for their country and Glasgow wants Poch out because his win ratio is too low ????? I've been watching Saints away from home for over 30 years and nor since the era of Keegna have we been so good away from home - desite not scoring enough from our domination I'll be more than happy for Poch to stay. Just my opinion!
  2. On the other hand I thought Villa were very poor today. Last season they gave us a right going over, but we won with a very dodgy penalty. This season they looked a team with very little fight. If I was a Villa fan I would have been disappointed about how they let us boss them around. We may not score as often as everyone on here would like but we're in a much better place than Villa and than we were last season.

    Big vic!

Not sure if anyone else noted this but Clyne didn't really push on yesterday, he seemed reluctant to run down the wing. I thought it might have been instructions to mkae sure we didn't get done on the counter attack. Whereas Shaw was very aggressive in his play and was looking to run on as much as he could.
  4. I have set my son up with a membership number so when I buy our tickets, he get's credited with a ticket against his membership number - not sure if this will work but I hope it does.....
  5. Great offer but unlikely to get a look-in as a non ST holder and only 4 aways games this season (2 with tickets not linked to my membership number)
  6. It wasn't that bad seeing as we spent most of the game in a losing position. City were poor, very little atmosphere and only sang after scoring or egged on by us.
  7. Sounds good - see you there!
  8. You can't control the reaction of other people. While the prospect of a young lad wearing an away kit in the Saints end getting grief all seems immature, on match day things change.............. For me it's a risk, which could ruin your day. Don't take the risk
  9. Could we not have both statues of Ted outside St.Marys. The first one in a discrete corner so we can go and have a laugh every now and again?
  10. + 1 If I read this about another club then I wouldn't be p*ssing myself laughing like some of the other posters on here. It's clear KL doesn't have time to run the club or sort out issues left befind after NC left. This guy at least comes from a sporting background, NC came from banking and we all know what a bunch of self-serving, arrogant people they are.
  11. How much did JRod cost? We may not know the exact number but what's the common consensus? Above we have £7.5 m from Saint86 and £6.0 mm from Saint Garrett. The BBC reported for a fee of around £7.0 mm.
  12. Win at Sunderland!
  13. My heart says, Yes. My head says, No
  14. We have a positive goal difference playing away - that's impressive for Saints.
  15. Signed - good luck ! 148 signed in the last hour according to the site - looks like folks are responding!
  16. Some of our recent signings have helped get us to this level - Davis, Wanyama, Lovren, J-Rod, Clyne, Boruc have all been successful. Less so, Lee, Dani, Gazza and Gaston. So I think we should be confident that we can bring in more good players. Personally I would prefer to bring in another strong CB to give us a choice of 4 - alongside Fonte, Yoshida and Lovren. Jos has been a good servant but isn't going to help us move up another level (imo)
  17. My first visit and I enjoyed it. Some nice pubs - particularly enjoyed the Bricklayer's Arms. A nice walk to the ground through the park. A picturesque ground next to the Thames. Their fans were friendly before and after the game and were more than happy to chat and talk about the game.
  18. More consistency of play across 90 mins? Games of 2 halves, the last 3 games - Sunderland, Arsenal and Fulham.
  19. I still remember when he scored against us in the FA Cup, playing for Bristol Rovers. It's been a great story and one that I've been proud to be part of. I missed most of MLT's career as I lived abroad for 17 years in the days when there was no internet. So to watch another legend develop has been a real priviledge. I just will echo some of the comments from other posters - his support play is excellent and a joy to watch. The pass to J-Rod yesterday for his goal was even better than I first thought when I saw it again on MOTD.
  20. What a great game! So pleased I went tonight. I was expecting a really tough game and possibly to lose. Fantastic performance all round by Saints, motm - Cork, just becuase he caught my eye a bit more then anyone else, but as others have said Spiderman, Shaw, Lallana could all have been motm. Best moment of the night, Arsenal go 2-1 up and their fans start shouting "who are you" at us - they must have been feeling pretty depressed, insecure to pull that one out to sing to us....
  21. We have a chance to progress - so it's up to us to take it. My fear is that Gus has them improving fast and it all ends in tears for us as they put us out and continue on with their fine run of results, including avoiding relegation.....
  22. It was only posted yesterday, for those wondering why the sign-up is low - now at 159!
  23. Nice idea, and one I'd rather comtemplate than the alternatives. As you said though, none of us have any real information! I wait for KL to announce the new CEO and then let's see what he / she have to say. In the meantime let's focus on beating Yoevil - no banana skins please !!
  24. When Johnson got his second goal the momentum was with Sunderland and they had lots of time to come up at us. Saints of old would have lost, we held on and got a draw. That's why I think it's a good result - we took a point - just my opinion, sorry it dffers from yours.
  25. Good result - there was no way Sunderland werent going to come back into the game.
