I normally sit in the Kingsland corner but being in the Itchen corner i enjoyed the banter with the Arsenal fans - they seemed oblivious to the Northam / Kingsland but were paying attention to the Itchen. Especially good was our retort to the "Callum Chambers, he left because you are sh*t" chant. Well done Itchen, I was impressed!

Sat in the Itchen (block 3) today and only heard the Kingsland corner / Northam a couple of times. Whereas I thought the Itchen gave good voice today, but probably couldn't be heard by the Northam/ Kingslan Why do I mention this? Well I'm advocating that we have the whole Northem end for Saints singers and move the away fans .

For me it was the 3-1 win at West Ham. They scored first (a bit against the run of play, imo), but we fought back. Watching Saints away stage a real fight back and end up deserved 3-1 winners was when I knew this season would be OK after the meltdown.

Pelle now at 27%, Pirlo at 23% and more importantly Darmian at 48% ( that's the first sign we've made inpact on his position). Keep voting!!
-
just voted again Pirlo 24% Pelle 26% Darmian still on 49% (this hasn't changed despite the heavy voting for Graziano - i think it's fixed on 49%!)
-
Just re-assessed my vote and he's now equal to Pirlo on 25%

Only just found out that my son is NOT working on New Year's Day. No tickets available on the booking site, except a few odd ones in the family stand (which I can't book unless I have an under 17 with me). So looking for two tickets if anyone is unable to go......

Hey, don't get me wrong - I got carried away - I was one of the gang singing "we're gonna win the league" at Hull. There are not many occasions in a Saints supporter's life when we are 2nd in the PL or 2nd in the old Division 1. I was around for the latter, but too young to realise that this wasn't the norm for Saints. I was just trying to step back and look at where we are now.

Let's not get too carried away with the negativity or the positivity............. Please think back to our 8-0 win against Sunderland. For the first 20 mins they dominated us and looked like they were going to score. What happened next is history. In games we lose e.g. Man U, we are soemtimes the better team. Overall I think our style of play is more convincing than last season, but we are not Real Madrid, Barca or Bayern Munich. we will lose games we think we should win and vice versa. What's critical is how we react when things don't go our way, yesterday was a great reaction. Let's hope we can maintain it against Palace and Arsenal but i think Chelsea will beat us even if we've got our best team out!

Any particular pub Saints fans are congregating at? -
why no Betrand - is he injured, cup-tied or you just don't fancy him???
-
I couldn't hear them from where I was stood in the Kingsland. I thought we were making some good noise! Just goes to show that my perception is different from yours and we were at the same game.....

Why does this season feel so different to last?
red&white56 replied to norwaysaint's topic in The Saints
I thought we looked a lot like last year's team last night. Lots of possession, but too complex around the box - no-one taking on responsibility for the shot. However, i think this team has more potential - Pelle, Long, Betrand and Tadic are great adds to the team. When J-rod and JWP come back we'll look better. I know a lot of folk moaning at Mane, especially the folk behind me last night, but he caused their defense problems all night - his final ball is poor and he tends to hang on tothe ball too long - correct those and he'll be a good squad addition. -
We Spent Nearly £40mill on Mane, Long, Forster and Gardos

????? are you sure it was only a few million more ????? -
Positive: we got to see a world class striker at his best. Negative: he was playing against us!
-
Aguero did for us, just as Suarez did last year. A really quality player who caused us problems all afternoon. City looked a very good team today, we didn't. As much as I would have liked it the other way around God didn't answer my prayers..... Let's hope we play better on Wednesday.
