is there anybody on with their own match report?? i'd like to hear from them
-
This must be Alpine Lyon then? do they only employ Alpine people where you work?

Ricardo Carvalho was on that list - he may be a bit old, 38, but he was a top notch CB in his day.... worth a punt

Liverpool vs Saints - EFL Cup Semi Final 2nd Leg - Match Thread
red&white56 replied to Dalek2003's topic in The Saints
Any good streams for tonight? -
Did you see the Liverpool home game? Did you see Wanyama at Norwich last year? Sent off for two unnecessary tackles and let Norwich into the game.............. 3 reds cards last season leading to a 5 game ban, that imo doesn't make him a better player compared to Romeu
-
Romeu is not inferior to Wanyama. he's as good if not better than Wanyama. That's my opinion
-
Just because some of us (and that includes me) are happy to have a club that can maintain a mid-table place in the EPL doesn't automatically mean that we don't have ambition. I want more for Saints but unless I can take over the club and invest several hundred million I can't actually achieve that ambition myself. I don't think expressing ambition is negative BUT without a touch of reality, humility linked in it can appear ultra-negative to some of us as it just seems like moaning.

Seems like the cricket ground is favoured as a drinking and eating location. Can't do Yorkshire, as much as I would like to, as my train is via Preston.
-
Anyone found somewhere nice to drink and eat before the game? Just booked train tickets today, was going to drive but the weather put me off.

Oriol was my MotM last night, and he was better than both MS and VW on their day. He was immense. Right now I'm happy to have him and i don't hanker back to the time of MS and VW.

My first time to Burnley - hoping for a good performance. However Burnley know they have to pick up points at home to survive and they will be a much different proposition than when they turned up at St.Mary's. I predict a draw 2-2.
-
i think Tony Pulis is a good manager, not really one that a top six club will ever want but he does a good job with his teams. so finishing behind WBA is not something that would worry me.

thanks - i had heard but had forgotten, so thanks for the reminder!!

How Many Semi Finals Have You Been To With Saints
red&white56 replied to Gemmel's topic in The Saints
'76 Palace at the Bridge '84 Everton at Highbury '90 Germany in Turin (hey i had to throw that one in!!!) and tonight ..... I am excited but not confident that we'll go through on the 2 legs -
If Schneiderlin, at 27, is worth in excess of £20 million, and he hasn't really played much over the last 18 months. What is Fonte then worth ? He's been a regular first team player, until this season and won the European Championship - although he is 33. Has to be worth at least £15 million, don't you think?
-
Good man! you are right - this is a semi final, let's not give up hope. i still remember '76, the night before the final when the pundits were predicting a 7-0 win for Man U. let's hope the team get their heads together and do themselves proud. we may not win it over 2 legs as 'pool are very strong at home but we have a chance!!!
-
That just about sums up how i feel about it, thanks DT!
-
Even if it ends badly I will still respect Jose for the service he has given to the club. He's been a good player for the club and has helped us through 2 promotions and to become stabilised in the PL. If I could influence events I would prefer that he moves abroad and not to another PL club.
-
We didn't have Wanyama nor Mane last night (nor Schneiderlin, Lallana, Clyne etc) because they wanted to leave us - all to go to a top 6 club, the exception being Pelle. Bemoaning our losses will change nothing.
-
To be honest the only result that would have made me happy was if both of them had lost - but now you know why I'm a bit grumpy today!

Puel vs Koeman - Comparsion after 17 Premier League games
red&white56 replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
thanks MLG, it's good to see some facts - as a point of interest (to me at least) do you have how Poch performed after his first 16 games - that would also be a fascinating comparison. -
scarf around my wrist - that was me!!! but as everyone else was doing this at the time I didn't stand out as a complete d*ck.

This makes most sense of all the posts so far.

It doesn't look like you ever wore these? I remember mine lo0ked complete tat by the end of the season, so in the bin and back to the knitted variety.
