  1. Except when they scored
  2. Kathleen So, the author: I am a: California Golden Bear, intern at Cal Athletics, D.C. sports fan, PAC-12 follower, Virginia native, & baseball/football enthusiast. I am a student at the University of California, Berkeley. I am interested in Sports Broadcasting and Journalism. I'm hoping to develop my own style of writing while expressing my opinions on pro and college sports teams, athletes and events. I love football and baseball. And I have just started following ice hockey. I was born and raised to be a Washington Redskins fan. Doesn't sound like she's ever visited the UK let alone a PL football stadium (but I could be wrong).
  3. Wigan fans were very friendly and after the game up there many came over to chat. Also met some nice Everton fans when we went up there. That's not to say there aren't other clubs who should get a mention.
  4. Any suggestions where to drink before the game, somewhere there might be some Saints fans I mean?
  5. Am I the only one wondering what the hell the picture is on the wall? Is this at the ground ? Bring back Rupert's train picture!
  6. Get over what ???? I don't think I should accept or get over shabby behaviour. Just because it happened doesn't make it right.
  7. I'm not sure how this game can bring closure to the NA story, as the NA issue is not related to who is the better manager, but the callous, unpleasant way in which he was fired and replaced. I've nothing against MP and appreciate that he made the team better, but I still feel uncomfortable about the way we treated NE. Even if we win the PL next year, that victory will be tainted by how the club treated NA.
  8. Why all of the mystery, just tell us what's going on !!
  9. Great win. Reading were poor for saying they had to win this one....... we are safe!!!
  10. He should get a big cheer and applause from the fans - we never had chance to say goodbye and thanks to the man who got us into the PL.
  11. The Octupus was a Brit, if I recall correctly - not sure if he was from Lanchashire or if he claimed any Irish heritage though.......
  12. To be fair, it was more of a penalty, imo, than the one J-Rod won at Villa...............
  13. Thoroughly enjoyed this - I hadn't seen the Liverpool match uncovered, os this was my first.
  14. I don't normally watch Sky but thought both the Chelsea and Liverpool match reviews were excellent, plenty of praise for Saints and how we played and less of the "bad day in the office" excuses than on the BBC
  15. Has to be the Reading game, we win that and we are just about safe..........
  16. I, for one, would love us to do something similar, but we need a whole end of singers - not half an end and bits added on! I wonder if their team is as good as their singing fans??
  17. He's turning into a key player.
  18. Great day out! Also made me realise that I really want us to get back to a red and white striped kit.
  19. Surely he would have reported this incident at the time and the club should have reacted? Dissapointing if neither happened.
  20. Chelsea lose Reading draw West ham draw Swansea draw West Brom lose Tottenham lose Sunderland win Stoke win Another 9 points and safe!
  21. I think he started weakly but has greatly improved as the season developed. He does have weaknesses, but I would have him as starting CB with Jose in my team. Can we do better? Of course, but we've aready bought in one player to strengthen our back line and he hasn't even been blooded so i can't say if he would be better.
  22. How do you know - did he tell you? Come on CB put us out of our misery.
  23. Sorry, but I can't see anything negative in this article. Poor posting by CB Fry - a very misleading interpreatation of what is this article.
  24. There used to be a sentiment that when the opposition fans started singing we would sing up to try and drown them out. Now we seem to like listening to them. What also puzzles me is that we can send out 3000+ fans to away games and put up a good racket, but back in St.Marys we can't get the same fans together to create the same noise... Leaving the stadium on Saturday I almost made a vow to only go to away games, because that's the type of support I like to be involved with, but I didn't!
  25. Before we get too carried away, yesterday's other results went our way - Reading losing 3-1 and Wigan 4-0. If Villa slip up tomorrow we will not be any closer to the relegation zone than before the week-end. QPR played us well yesterday, they sat back, invited us on and we couldn't do much in their box (or just outside it) to create more than one goal. They were clearly happy to leave with a point, but as soon as they scored I think they realised that they might even leave with all 3. We need to put this game behind us and concentrate on our next game!
