Brilliant game today. Took my mind off the rest of the shyte going on.

After the Palace game, we noticed that he wasn't with the staff, when they did the "Lap of honour." Was this anything to do with what has transpired? (And will someone get round to Roger's house and take his belt and shoelaces away before he does himself in.)

And we all complained about the squad selected. We moaned more after the first game, a dull as hell 1-1 draw with Switzerland. We didn't play well against the Sweaties and should have lost the Q/F to Spain, but for a dodgy lino in our favour. The only good performances were against Holland and Germany, but as with a lot of revisionism, this was the a golden era. If there had been a SWF forum back then, there would be exactly the same posts and the same bollix, as we are getting now.

Last year Middlesex "kindly" allowed us to play our first T20 game at Lords. Not bad, seeing as the competition started in 2003. This year its back to normal and a field in Uxbridge that I've played at several times. They've made it doubly appealing, by playing it on a Friday night, so I'm leaving now for a fun time on the M3/M25.

Also missing are Jos and Danny Fox. I see Jos is still playing in Sweden, but doesn't appear to have a midweek game. Danny played in Forest's last few, after being out injured and got himself sent off in the last game, which wouldn't preclude him from tonight.
