  1. Does it not bother anyone else that he doesn't really mention Christmas, apart from to say have a nice one? Surely this would have been an ideal time to just spend a short amount of time getting people to think about the true meaning of Christmas and what is really important in life? Football is here all the time and we're all guilty of either thinking too much about it, spending too much on it writing too much about it on messageboards! But God is also always here with us, but we rarely see as much though going into Him as we do Southampton (ironically called The Saints"!). It would have just been a nice touch if he had mentioned the birth of Jesus and something about Christian values.
  2. I'm off to see Ffye Dangerfield in January. He's playing just 4 gigs nationally to pro mote his new album and the Guillemots are recording their 3rd album in the new year. What I'm trying to say is that sometimes an individual band member can go off and do solo stuff and be very successful yet still keep the band intact. Boj, after hearing your song I would urge you to go solo. I think you have a bteer singing voice than the other fella and there is an honesty to your work that I believe. The way you have dealt with the idiots on this thread shows me that you have musical integrity and I for one believe in your song writing abilities. I have a friend who is in A&R and if you want me to get him to come and see one of your solo gigs drop me a PM.
  3. LOL! This thread just gets funnier and funnier. It's good because someone says we won against Torquay and somone else said it was a draw. This was weeks ago, but it's still really, really funny and worth basing a whole thread on that alone every single week. What's also really funny is that someone said "I don't like the list, I can see the results myself" and other people went "Let's keep making a list, because it's really, really funny". Brilliant stuff!
  4. I agree it does sound like he was stitched up, with clues that made little sense. I think most people would have struggled in his shoes.
  5. You seem to be forgetting that some of us remember your posts and the suggestion that someone else is retarded is a bit rich coming from you. That's right, all the good people have left so there's no need for you to stick around. (by the way, by "funny/interesting people" he actually means racist and unpleasant) I am removing you from my friends list. What a silly thing to say, and to HS of all people. That man is worth a billion of you. No, he was an idiot, and judging by his lastest posts, he still is. Then again, you were a bit of a suck up on b-anter in those old days as well weren't you? A bit of a knob sometimes in the way you tried to win favour by trying to fit in with some of the naughty boys and their naughty ways.
  6. You're still doing it Saintandy666. Stop it. Joensuu has provided some excellent points that you are dismissing without any proof. I am now going to spend some time replying to you, and bear in mind it is late and I want to go to bed as I have work in the morning. I am doing this with peace and love because I like you. I wouldn't waste my sleeping time on many other posters, but you are better than the drivel you have posted. Now, stop being silly or I'll go off you.
  7. I cannot believe that there are people still dismissing this whole sorry episode as a "high jinks" and passion. What does a 5 year old know about passion for football and running onto the pitch? Do you really believe that a five year old would think "Right, we've won....no-one else is doing it, but what I really want to do now is run onto the pitch"? I don't think that would ever happen. I think that young ruffian types think it's funny to encourage him to do this. They probably know that if they did it they would be punishd.....so get the young boy to do it instead. It's like a football version of Oliver, with those "adults" orchestrating the childs movements being Fagan. The fact is, and it has been confirmed on here, that this little hoodlum has invaded the pitch a nuber of times. This is not an isolated incident. It is a pattern of behaviour that needs to be broken and the only way to do that is to be harsh. I earlier suggested a year ban for the boy and his guardians, but in retrospect think this may be a little lenient. Maybe two years for both and then they can come back once the parents have been on a parenting course and the boy's school reports have been examined in detail (not for academic achievement, but to see if he is behaving himself - because, like I said earlier, he is currently learning poor behaviour, which will not be restricted to the football, it will spread into every aspect of his life). I am not one to make sweeping judgements, but I would be happy to bet anyone that if this issue is not checked now, this little boy will grow into a thug and criminal. Is that what we want for our young fans? Football is part of our social fabric and one of society's jobs is to influence behaviour in a positive way and help those who cannot cope. Clearly this boys "parents" cannot cope with his behavioural management and it our job, as a society of football fans, to help them.
  8. I wasn't at the match but was horrified to hear about this boy being on the pitch. There are a few issues here: 1. Where were his guardians and why didn't they stop this from happening? Presumably they think it is ok for pitch invasions. Maybe the way they allow their child to run amok at the football is the way they allow the boy to act on the street or in school? 2. If one person (no matter of age) invades the pitch it can encourage others to follow causing trouble 3. The boy could have been hurt - whose fault would it have been then? The stewards? The clubs? I can guarantee that these sort of people would be the first complaining if something had happened to him. 4. And most importantly, the boy is learning behaviours now, as all children do, which will stay with him for life. He is learning that it is ok to run onto a pitch, to break the rules and act like a lout. He has been rewarded by the laughs from the crowd and the shirt from Papa. He will continue to act like this until he is stopped and his behaviour corrected. Will it still be cute and funny when he is 9? What about 12? What about 15? 27 etc etc. What about if he comes on brandishing a pole and hits one of the underperforming players? Will that be cute and funny? The club must take action now before this becomes an epidemic of poor behaviour. The boy should be banned for a year. The guardians should be banned for year. The stewards should be told to keep a tight control on pitch invasions, no matter of age. Papa should be fined a weeks wages. Let's not allow this sort of thing to become the norm at the club. And let us not mistake what it was - a socially irresponsible act carried out by ruffians.
  9. Saintandy666......I've always liked you and your posts. You're an intelligent person, my favourite young person on the board, better than that Buzzin Orn character, who is a little too big for his boots. However, I must admit to being thoroughly disappointed in your posts on this thread. It is the kind of stuff I expect from most of the ignorant arses that populate SWF, but not you. View From The Top is right.....you need to do some re-evaluating. You cannot simply dismiss the British and American support of Hussein in the past. You cannot justify the lies that were put out for the general public to justify the war. It is one thing for one country to suggest to another that their leadership and constitution is wrong and in need of change, it is another to force that to happen. Who is to say we are right? You? Blair? Bush?
  10. I love this song! I think we should all buy a copy and try and get it to number 1 and keep that x-factor sh*t off the top spot. It'd be a real comment on how people have had enough of Cowell's manufactured pop-pap. We want real music! Real talent! I don't want my singers to be perfect. I like them a little off key. This fella reminds me a bit of Bob Dylan. And the lyrics are almost as good as well. Well done Boj and the boys!
  11. So you CAN play for 3 clubs. He has only played for 2. So he could be off.
  12. In a whisper........"Please help me. Please."
  13. Exactly Whitey! I'm not sure if Andy Porter is on a wind up? So, you're questioning Pardews judgement are you? And what are you basing that on? Is it because we're on such a good run, or that we're knocking in goals left, right and centre or is it because we're playing like we've not played in years? I can't tell if you're serious or not, but if this is a wind up then it's a pretty good one.
  14. I am absolutely hammered now! I started drinking at about 9.00am and have done a bottle of wine and half a bottle of vodka. I woke up thid morning and ha a blazing ropw with the Mrs so thougt Id teach her a lesson. She;s gone out now after I hit her. A quality punch, riight between the eyes. COYR!!!
  15. To be honest, this is why so many people have stopped posting on the main board. It is constant negativity. I don't know what it is about Saints fans, but they could see the bad in everything. I guess year after year of misery has caused it! Pardew has instilled a positive, winning mentality within the team, maybe he could do the same with the fans. He's taken a player who hadn't played in 18 months and has made him one of the most feared strikers in the country. Don't ask me how he did, I don't know.....but some time faith is needed. I have faith in Pardew. I'm not saying he has healing hands or any of the oher things people have said on this thread. I'm not saying he's a witchdoctor or into voodoo, I honestly don't know what his secret is, but the success with Connolly is there for all to see. Let's not write off Pardew just yet, eh? And I think it would be a brave man to say that Ashton will never be seen playing again. Someone famous once said "never say never" and that was before we knew of Pardews abilities.
  16. No similarities? You should start living in the real world. Connolly was out injured for 18months or whatever and Ashton is out long term. I'd say that was a similarity. From what I have seen of Pardew I am sure that he can get Ashton up and running again. He might not play every game, but even half a season would be good. He would batter defences in this league and I am sure he would want to play for Pardew, given the past. I wouldn't doubt for a minute that Pardew could sort Ashton out and that Ashton would be so grateful that he would sign a contract with us, without breaking the bank!! LOL! Even though, ironically, we could probably afford to hae our bank broken with ML in charge!!
  17. You've done well to fit into all 3 categories.
  18. How could your friend see his eyes rolling if he had his hand over them?
  19. What's it got to do with you? If local people wish to complain about it then they are within their rights because it may affect them (even if it's just their preception). How does it affect you? It doesn't because you live thousands of miles away. How about if someone wantes to build something (it doesn't matter what) next to your house and loads of people in another country said "Oh that's ok, I approve of it, don't listen to these moaners"? I don't care what your opinion is and nor should the council or anyone. It's nothign to do with being PC, it's about local people having some say in what happens in that area and not having outsiders (you) put their unwarranted opinions and thoughts in. In fact, the more I type, the more angry I am getting at your complete idiocy and selfishness. How dare you suggest that people who wish to complain about what happens in their area are the "PC brigade". This is an issue beyond Southampton FC and if people wish to complain they should be allowed to......apart from you because you don't live anywhere near the affected area, or even in the same country (disclaimer - you name and location suggests you live elsewhere, if you are a local resident then I take back my comments, but still classify you as a knob for not changing your location and using the phrase "PC brigade")
  20. A lot of good intentions, but let's see some action
  21. I really think that this is achievable and would be much better than a rubbish card. Everyone sends cards. I have had one from the Post Office and one from my local Indian restuarant. They mean nothing. Let's get him a great present that will show him what we think of him. I have done some research and found this: http://cgi.ebay.com/BYZANTINE-MOSAIC-OF-CHRIST-PANTOKRATOR-5-6TH-CENT-AD_W0QQitemZ290334806637QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item43994d926d What do people thinnk? It really isn't that much money if we all chip in and imagine what the press would think of us if we got a photo op of us presenting Markus with this rare gift. I would hope that they could send it by Christmas. I would be happy to present it to him, or maybe Boj could do it? Come on people! Let's get this sorted. Maybe the admin could set up an account that we could all pay into using paypal or something?
  22. I think this is a great idea. Everyone can afford 30p for a card (from the cheap shops) and 30p or whatever for a stamp. It'd be a lovely gesture. And the more wealthy and better fans could get him a present. I would be willing to spend £20 on something for him. We could even club together? What if we all donated some money (minimum £3, maximum £50) and got him a great pressie? If 2000 people all gave £5 that would be £10,000. Imagine what we could get him for that much! He'd love it (and love us). Any suggestions for a £10,000 present for Markus?
  23. Reciprocated xx
  24. You're not alone Bridgey. I can't stand people who can only sing ballards either. Why can't they sing other stuff? Why only ballards? Talentless b*stard. He makes me sick. Sing something else why don't you?? Oh, because you can't. Yoy cant can you? Joe McEldrey can only sing ballards. What a loser!!
  25. Doesn't sound too dissimilar to the American approach with Guantanamo Bay. Change the highlighted words with these and you're away: Amanda Knox = Mad muslims Italina = American
