Really lots of professional sportsman retire each year but not many turn to drugs. Claus seems to be irresponsible having already been found guilty of drink driving

No I just think he is an OK manager who has done a reasonable job. I think he should be left to get on with the job as manager while others think he wont succeed and he will ultimately fail. But only time will tell but in the meantime there will be a lot of discussion on how he is doing which I think you will have to accept. Because this is a SFC we discuss our manager and not other teams . Our first few games were dreadful we were in the Relegation zone on merit obviously the 10 deduction may have had an impact but we should have done better
-
Who said anything about Pardew being sacked I said he could have done better in the first part of the season he had a reasonable squad of players most of whom have played a lot of games this season. We got relegated so did Charlton and Norwich but they did not go into melt down
-
I would like Gary Neville
-
I am not suggesting sacking Pardew just suggesting that he could have done a little better. Forget the Bollix about where were this time last season once out of Administration and with the players we had our start should have been a lttle better. What Sir Alex has to do with this discussion I have no idea.
-
Yes because they clearly were not dross but as you say they did not play well .
-
I know but the players at the start of the season should have done better. That is why Pardew is not a top manager I would have thought and I doubt he will lead us to the Premier League but let see what happens in the next year or so. It is easier spending money and getting in alledgedly better players

I hope he does turn it around but unlike you I am not sure

Burnley v Citeh. Would you leave early if it was Saints?
John B replied to lordswoodsaints's topic in The Saints
No but if Leyton Orient score 6 on Monday I would be a little upset -
I just think we should possibly have done a little better as we took the lead on a number of occasions without getting the win The Statistics you forgot to comment on Man U 3 draws Saints 13 draws Goals Conceded 27 for Man U 27 Saints 46 Which tells something about our defence which still does not have many clean sheets I know I have only watched a dozen or so games this season but the only clean sheet I saw was against Luton in the Cup
-
Yes I thought it seemed a strange comment from Pardew
-
I dont think he was abusing you just telling the truth perhaps;)
-
Well if it does I hate to think what it will do to poor old Pardew.

I have been watching Saints since August 1962 when my parents returned to Southampton but followed the team before that. I left Southampton in 1964 to go to Uni in London but returned to Southampton regularly to watch them and was a season ticket holder for the a year in the 70s. Watched them at all the London Grounds - Ealing to Crystal Palace is not easy midweek by Public Transport and had an awful experience at Watford in the League Cup when 4 1 up from the first leg we got well and truly thrashed. Now retired and living in Berkshire I follow them on the Interenet and still go to watch a few times a season last game I saw was against Hartlepool I now enjoy watching teams that I have never seen before but I am not sure whether MK Dons counts as I remember going to Plough Lane and seeing Boyer score a goal in a Cup game
-
Yes I was going to add about the fans. I Dont think Man U and Liverpool is quite the same as the method used to buy the clubs is based on loans they both have huge incomes and I am not sure they are making large losses
-
I dont disagree with you about the sour grapes but I really dislike clubs like Pompey and unfortunately ourselves under the Hone years spending money we did not have gaining an unfair advantage .
-
Yes I agree I was very upset at the start of the season as things seemed to be going from bad to worse and I thought our results were pretty grim. Perhaps I was too impatient then but since October the team has got good results and things are going well although getting to the playoffs seemed unrealistic despite spending on a number of new players. If the team plays as it has done since October we should be in a very good position to get promoted next season
-
I think he has a point I dont think it is cheating going into Administration but it has been a great advantage for us and our future is bright because of it. .
-
So the first ten games did for us is the reason we will not get promoted
-
I would still expect to win even if Jose took over in the morning
-
They had some really good players around that time Mike Summerbee and Ernie Hunt if I remember
-
Who is Mr Williams never really heard of him
-
Well Claus breaks the law so gets into the Newspapers

Just read this http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/philmcnulty/2010/04/ancelottis_bravery_pays_off.html Seemed to be what Pardew did not saying it was a good idea but other managers do similar things
