  1. Of course we do not know what the budget is but most on here have been following SFC for sometime and have knowledge of past signings so have an informed idea of what the club are likely to pay for a GK. But of course your point of us not knowing what the overall budget for transfers and wages is a significant point which is under estimated on here together with the plans for the current players. We do not know what if they are expecting Salisu to stay whether JWP will be moving whether Bednerack Redmond Djneppo want to leave When is Romeau is going to be replaced is Tella going out on loan There are so mny questions with no real answers so we suggest informed guesses which I think is good and makes us think and come up with ideas which is what Turkish was doing and I do not really understand what the point of your post was as it was not particularly constructive in the debate on whether Fraser should stay So what is your view I think he should stay because the club would not have to pay out a transfer fee and I think he is currently playing pretty well But I do not know who the likely replacement is how much he would cost or wheter Fraser wants to stay I also think our top priority is as every year getting in a decent striker which I realise is pretty difficult
  2. I agree with you but if we kept Forster surely it would be cheaper as we would not have to pay a transfer fee The money saved could be spent on a decent striker but getting one into SFC is not going to be easy as Ings has been our only decent one we have signed in recent years which is a similar situation in other clubs of our size in the PL Getting in another GK is again not going to be easy either if the saga at Wembley on Suturday is anything to go by where the USA number 1 goalie had a nightmare and gifted Liverpool the game as we need an experienced one who is tried and tested so I would stick with Fraser
  3. Yes you are right but I think the teams we have lost to recently have played better than the ones we played earlier in the year and lets face it our players are in general average at the best and next season could be dreadful without a regular goal scorer We do not have any really standout player who perform consistently well and would be in the team of players who have played in the PL in the last ten years
  4. Sell JWP Redmond and Tino
  5. I agree with what you are saying but a strike force of Adams and Armstrong hardly fills the rest of the team with much confidence I would have thought. We are certainly going to struggle next season unless we get in a decent striker and who would want to come to St Mary's
  6. I agree that a lot of the right wing press are manipulative and loads of peple are gullible and believe things which are completely untrue but surely it is obvious that Russia invaded Ukraine
  7. Strange I thought he was lightweigt a lot of speed and energy but did nothing significant in the Penalty area unlike Broja
  8. I doubt it West Ham are not going to bust a gut to score that many Goal Difference is not involved and I think they play Liverpool next week
  9. Well I will not be watching the match on TV now what a joke and if we lose tonight and also against Villa I will be truly pissed off Anybody think will tonight
  10. Yes I think you are correct I am fairly confident we can win as WH will be trying to get as high as possible in the PL as their chances of winning the cup like ours are small with the team still likely to be in the QF Of course our position in the PL is important but arguably not as important as West Ham's
  11. I was a bit sceptical when I first heard he was coming to SFC but when I was him playing in his early days I realised he was the real deal nd he had so much energy
  12. Me too But with Spurs City Liverpool and Chelsea likely to be in the QF a pretty daunting task
  13. That is usual with young players they are generally inconsistent
  14. They were excellent against City at the weekend especially Harry Kane
  15. Burnley have a good defence letting in only 29 goals so far this season
  16. Surprise it was not the last as it was possibly the worst of all the games at Everton were easily the worst of all the teams involved
  17. As I am an old Git 3 April 1963 QF FA Cup when we won 5 0 and the whole stadium was singing it as it seemed most of Southampton were at White Hart Lane and 1 May 1976 at Wembley Stadium as we won the FA Cup are my best memories of OWTS But I do remember watching Spurs in Europe in the early 1960s on TV in mid week with their fans belting it out in those early of European football I am sure most of the country was behind Man U Liverpool and Spurs when they played in the European Cup
  18. I agree I dont think 25 /1 is a good bet as they need to beat West Ham and in theory may well have to beat Man City Chelsea and Liverpool as well
  19. Although Saints played well not one Saints player in Garth Crooks' Team of the Week which shows how strong the PL really is I only watch MOTD when Saints do well and saw yesterday the quality of other teams and their outstanding players. We are playing really well at the moment but so are other teams but I cannot see us pushing for Europe without getting in some better attacking players.
  20. Yes they spend £90m and do not utilise him seems very strange as discussed by MOTD
  21. He shit because he hardly gets the ball 7 or 8 touches yesterday
  22. So does Lawro and usually he is wrong about us
  23. I think he does not think it a good idea at the moment
  24. The point I was trying to make was that it is unlikely new supporters would travel to St Mary's to justify a 40000 stadium Like you I used to travel from the top of the M3 to watch the Saints when I was younger even had a season ticket and watched the Rugby around the Richmond area in the 1970s and 8os because I was a Saint I am a still a Saint following every game on the Internet it is not easy to give up after 60 years. Unfortunately my brother died earlier in the month we first went to the Dell August 1962 when we both returned to Southampton he had a ticket for the Swansea game which his widow used instead and since his death we have not lost so I am pretty confident that a run will continue tomorrow
  25. I think lots of fans are fed up with the PL and like supporting local teams the Village I live in in Berkshire Binfield got to Wembley last year in the Vase is well and lots go and watch a couple of games a season at Reading in fact I am going to watch a game next month with my son in law Why go down to St Mary's for an expensive day out
