  1. So what Plan did you support when you voted to Leave I had no idea what the country would look like after Brexit as there were no details available so I voted Remain I still have no idea what Brexiters like you want. I understand May's Plan but don't understand what you think is wrong with it as it was agreed with the EU as the best available
  2. You have absolutely no idea if we will be perfectly happy trading on WTO terms as you are just some bloke with very right wing views with little idea of how the UK functions within the EU and have little indepth knowledge of WTO. If it is so great why are most if not all Nations trying to involved in trade deals. Also if it is so great why have successive Governments not pushed for leaving the EU and moving to WTO. Probably because it is pants especially as we are currently in the EU which is the most respected Trade block in World with trade deals to most of the largest trading nations on the planet
  3. Why are you so aggressive Wes Selmayr is not an upstart he is the Secretary General of the EU and is explaining in plain English that if we want to leave the EU with no free movement no single market no customs union no hard border in Ireland the deal negotiated by May with the backstop she asked for is the best and only deal available. Pretty simple really
  4. He is probably happy with all this UK products will face tariffs if sold into the EU - for example cars at 10% and shoes at 8%. Some UK producers will become uncompetitive when facing these tariffs, especially compared to EU producers, and will therefore cease production UK products which require testing to be placed on the EU market will need a test carried out within the EU, a UK test will not be sufficient. This will add costs to production. There will be no customs cooperation between the UK and EU, thus for example no mutual recognition of the Authorised Economic Operator scheme. Products are therefore likely to take more time to go through customs checks UK agricultural exporters will face potentially even higher tariffs, such as 42% on cheddar cheese. Our access to the lower tariff rate quotas is uncertain, without which many agricultural exports will be not be competitive There will also be extensive checks on EU agricultural exports to the EU, which will further add costs, and there will not be veterinary equivalence schemes in place to facilitate these UK service providers will not have the right to sell certain services across the EU, particularly direct from the UK. In many cases they will have to set up new offices in the EU Many UK based staff will not have the right to work across the EU, for example as tour reps for UK travel companies. EU citizens would have to take these roles UK haulage companies would not be able to carry loads between EU destinations, and could for the short term only carry from UK to an EU destination and return. This will make them uncompetitive to EU hauliers The tariffs on goods, and restrictions on services, will also apply to countries with who the EU has a current trade agreement that the UK fails to replicate - for example there is likely to be no agreement with Turkey In no-deal Brexit there will be no agreement with the EU on data adequacy or financial services equivalence. This will mean extra cost for all UK companies who move data between UK and EU for example The UK Government will have to decide on whether to keep or reduce our own tariffs. This will not be an easy decision - lower tariffs may help consumers but harm UK producers and developing countries who currently get particular privileges Over 50% of UK trade will be affected by these changes. Less than 10% of EU trade will be affected by these changes. UK costs will rise, EU costs are unlikely to do so. This will be a major change to the terms of trade between us These issues are why even no-deal advocates talk of 'managed no-deal', or a deal with the EU. But if all of this is going to affect the UK more than the EU there is no reason for the EU to offer a more generous deal than that on offer now All of these are the sort of issues which are typically resolved in a free trade agreement. But these take time, typically in the EU 5-7 years. Waiting this time would mean all of these issues being maintained, affecting UK competitiveness Some no-deal advocates claim the UK could gain competitiveness by scrapping EU regulations, however it would be difficult then to negotiate a trade deal with the EU at the same time. The UK is expecting to start Free Trade Agreement negotiations with US and others in a no-deal situation. However if the UK economy is changing it will not be clear which sectors the UK should prioritise. Well Known incompatibilities between US and EU will also cause problems, if we accept US agriculture this will make a good trade deal with the EU harder. It will take time for the UK to make these decisions
  5. BREXIT latest: DOWNSIDE Nissan, Sony, Airbus, Panasonic, Dyson, JaguarLR etc off/cutting jobs No food No medicine Manufacturing collapse NI peace in danger NHS/social care meltdown Kent = car park Riots Actual **** everywhere UPSIDE Blue passport Brexit 50p Prince Philip in hiding and unable to drive
  6. So you would be happy for the Queen to be target of abuse if Brexit goes badly wrong Just 54 days to go before Mr. Putin's Brexit and the huge triumph for Russia by the way
  7. I think our strategy is clear out the dross and see if the Academy players can cut in the PL before embarking on buying for the sake of it. There is no point in investing in an Academy if we are not using their players so far it seems to be working OK
  8. Would you sign him as he has not played a competitive game for possibly over a year
  9. He is far from dreadful just has little confidence and has not got used to the PL because he has been in and out of the team. Against Derby he had a chance but was a little late and the next time he over compensated and got to the ball to early. At least he gets in positions to score I just don't understand how these fringe players get a chance to play in games if there are no Reserve Games
  10. Brexiters don't seem to be worried about food shortages as they swallow any old ****.
  11. People now seem to be experts in WTO rules which seem very difficult to suddenly move to I just read this https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/jan/27/uk-cannot-simply-trade-on-wto-terms-after-no-deal-brexit-say-experts Which is quite interesting
  12. How can this go on? Surely the sane, genuine people will have their day and end the delusion of the Brexiteers Although it seems to me Dyson, Jacob Rees-Mogg, Nigel Lawson – the leave elite appears to want Brexit for everyone else but themselves
  13. John B

    Next 5 Games

At least 7 I hope with luck perhaps 9 or 10
  14. It is not my money but by the law of averages we ought to get in a decent Striker like Crouch Beattie Pelle and Phillips
  15. We have wanted a decent CB and Striker for two or three years I doubt they are easy to find
  16. He looks a little over weight to me
  17. But Derby's goals were pretty good were they not
  18. Only the delusional would think we could continue to pick up young players and think they would develop in to world class players
  19. So did you not think that if we sold our best players and replaced them with inferior players we would not be in the bottom half of the League We cannot succeed unless we spend mega bucks on players or produce top class footballers from the Academy .
  20. Please could you tell me who has been incompetent at St Mary's as I have no knowledge about it
  21. 1964 v Man U 2 0 up at HT Great Goal from Chivers Saw George Best for the First time Lost 3 2
  22. I would love a Cup run too but I don't think we are not safe from relegation yet so I don't think we should put our top team out v Derby As someone posted we need 8 to 10 points in our next five games and cannot really afford to lose to Cardiff Palace or Burnley
  23. We keep buying players at £15m or so and most end up on the bench We need just one very good player at £30m Plus who can perform really well all the time which will hopefully help the £15m players to blossom We just have lots of players of average quality I am not even sure who are our best three players
  24. If they were any good they would be playing for us regularly I think they played a few times for Puel two years ago but achieved very little
  25. Canada deal would mean a hard border in Ireland are you happy with that? By the way May's red lines no hard border in Ireland no free movement means the only deal possible is May's deal and is that acceptable to you especially as it is bad for trade and investment and there has to be a backstop in the island of Ireland. No deal is not acceptable to Parliament as it will cause so much economic meltdown unemployment and ultimately social unrest
