  1. Wycombe generally concede a lot of goals, we will win 7-1
  2. knowing full well that he couldn't play, just a helping hand to get his suspension cleared off in a match he wouldn't have played in anyway.
  3. in today's parlance that would equate to roughly "tarting about aimlessly"
  4. We should have probably done better at the start of the season, now don't think we have anything much to complain about, apart from losing to Brighton that is.Furthermore we are not the Man City of League 1,we have spent relatively little, I really don't know where this idea that we are big spenders comes from.We sold some players,we have invested roughly the same sum in new players. We get good gates for our division,we are having a couple of minor cup runs and bringing in a bit of money from them but we certainly aren't throwing away money on a new player every other day.If we were the Man C of our league we'd have bought 2 new central defenders in July or August instead of chasing after a 34 year old without a work permit and a loan maybe from Preston.
  5. It's a bit of a myth that we "don"t need the money".We do, we have too many loan players and that can only be because we don't want to buy too many just now.Liebherr might be very rich but he obviously has no intention of throwing bundles of notes at the team just now. He's put up a lot to buy the club and presumably pay off some debts. It stops there,we won't be buying new players in the near future unless the club is at least breaking even so if we want to get out of the loan spiral and improve the side well then we need to make money at the gate and from TV revenues. In the cup you have to give away 55% of the gate so there's not much point of having a 1 off bonanza against a big 4 club and nothing afterwards. Getting to the later rounds ensures more paydays and better TV payouts when you eventually get on.
  6. Not really, it means that if he doesn't score then KPT will have to make reparation to all that lose something (in the loose sense of the word) because of it.So I'm going to chuck 3 million quid on this bloke scoring and if he doesn't well then KP will have to make up the winnings for me.
  7. Good, we can win that and we'll get 21K or thereabouts anyway what'smore we owe Rotherham a good thumping Plus ticket prices will be reasonable and not 35£
  8. Sounds like Steve Austin
  9. A team that we can beat. No point in drawing ManU or Arsenal at home. We'd only get another 7 or 8 K anyway and the prices will get hiked.Plus we have to give them 45% and the FA 10% (or something like that) No point putting more money in their already overflowing pockets for a couple of K TV money, that can wait. For me someone beatable at home.
  10. Anyway many many people on this forum thought that Gillett was our best outfield player last season, they drooled over Saganowski as well. AP has had no time for either one of them, so I guess someone somewhere has got a dodgy opinion of what makes a "good player".Fortunately we got money from Wolves for Surman ,perhaps AP wouldn't have had much time for him either.
  11. Good looking starting 11, pity about the bench though.I expect Wotton to start with either Antonio or Waigo making way because if they're both there that makes a pretty indisciplined midfield.
  12. If we play that team we'd be trying to lose.
  13. Personally, I'm OK with Bart, I like his style. However he doesn't need to f**k up like he did at Rotherham last year.
  14. probably at fault for all 7 goals
  15. we're going to make it ugly then
  16. **** Taking by Life Long Saint, know it well
  17. It'll be enough to see off Hartlepool and keeps the "rest players for the cup" band happy;)
  18. The UK won't get the world cup anyway.
  19. Should make getting ugly when we're 1 up with 20 minutes to play a bit more likely.Unless James has already been sent off by then of course.
  20. Who gets dropped then? Antonio ?
  21. They'll go for someone who can handle all the non-English players they've got there.Hart obviously couldn't. Some of them are half-decent as well but that's no bloody use if you've got a manager who doesn't have a clue how to use them.I suspect they may get a European manager in
  22. Mr Whippy was pink, Tonibell was blue, mind you there were probably a few maverick operators, I think it was franchised.
  23. Loads of decent managers will fall over themselves to get the job,Pompey are in the Prem after all and because there are so many crap teams this year their position is by no means disastrous, well not yet, one win will put them back in the pack. Must be a handsome wodge involved as well. They'll get someone decent.
  24. Tonibell was a brand of ice-cream van
  25. Doubt it myself. You all like to think he will but he won't.It's not even about money, it's about recognition.
