The Dell wasn't "developable".

Nope , think the Milton was still the place at that period. Could be than the 'balance of power" was shifting though. The family cage changed a lot, can't remember when they took away the choccyboxes though.

We'll see when the accounts come out won't we. Other than that it's just hearsay to date. The first half of 2007/8 showed a "players and coach salary bill of about 6.1 million (before NHS and pension charges)" Rasiak and Skacel were farmed out, Davies was added (although he'd been here on loan already) Burley left half way through the second part of the exercise,Gorman and Dodd then Pearson replaced him. There were loans in the first period and again in the second period. Whether the loans on R Wright,Lucketti,Pearce,O Halloran,Pericard and Perry will amount to those in the first half I wouldn't like to say. The accounts will be out shortly I suppose we'll then be able to discern between Urban Myth and Hard Fact.

In your day perhaps. Ask the senior fans here though. It was the "Milton Boot Boys" never the "Archers Boot Boys" I'm sure some saint's historian will be able to explain to us the reason for the shift in the hardcore support. Probably because of the family enclose and the demise of the chocolate boxes;

It would seem to me that virtually all club going into administration in the last couple of years get an initial deduction of 10 pts and then another whack in the season afterwards.The FA seem to find a contravention for everybody so that you get hit twice. I see Bournemouth are still on -4 points this season in addition to the -10 they got last season. Administration IS undesirable,not that it will stop people who 'know things' harping on about it though. Administration can knock you 2 steps back on the snakes and ladders board these days. -
It all started when they let families into the Milton and knocked down the Chocolate boxes. We could get 31044 into the Dell before they started with their stupid rules about standing and making football a "family outing". Clear as day. Archers=Away fans behind the goals, better behaved Saints fans in the wings. Under Stands Occasionals and people too fat for the Milton Stands Old Folks, Toffs and Kids on Birthday treats. Milton. Hard core -real fans That was football, bugger sitting down and behaving yourself.

You only suffer because women wear more clothes in winter and there's less tit on display.

Not so many no. I'll be back with the exact figure later on. -
How long until the first Lowe Out chant starts tomorrow?

Depends on how many "internet fans" actually go to matches; 50% would be a very optimistic figure I think. -
If you want a level playing field there are two principal options. 1) Salary Cap and Draft as in the NFL 2) French system with the DNCG (direction national de controle de gestion) All clubs submit their accounts, those that are too much in the red get "recruitment bans",those that are really really in the red get relegated. Piece of pisces really. If you're spending money you don't have it gives you an advantage, you get knocked back end of. Mind you for the Champions League-forget it. How can a club charging £15 at the gate and without much debt compete with clubs charging £50 and 200 million in the red. Football has become a joke, Time machine me back to 1984, just in time to watch Saints stuffing Liverrpool at Anfield.

Anyone got any idea on that? All these Tuesday night matches instead of Saturday afty must be costing us a fortune. Bloody international breaks. Won't get that in League 1 though.

Nah, under the system which was minutely outlined, the incumbents got rid of a lot of their detractors because administration was no longer a sword of Damocles. Wish I could remember exactly how it went, it was in August or about then, must have been on this forum, I don't read the others. -
Never mind the quality, feel the width.

Harry said he was in Portugal, waiting for a flight home when he got a call.. but he went to Portugal a while ago as well, you know with him, truth isn't an exact science;

The stadium is owned by a separate entity. Weren't you here when we discussed this Phil ?. The plan that I heard was. Put the FC Ltd into administration and keep all the others above water. The shareholders lose nothing and the FC gets some time on it's only debt-the overdraft. I can't remember exactly how it went but it was all very well wrapped and cunning. Apparently it was legal as well. No-one remember that thread?, perhaps it wasn't on here then. Perhaps I'm leaking an exclusive secret.:cool::cool::cool::cool: -
Hmm, not to get too involved but it's a pity that the club opened a lovely new concrete and glass "shop" then. For the number of "customers" who want to buy the "product" now the grotty old tinkers shop that was hard to access and even harder to park around, would have done just fine.

You didn't run in your Saint's shirts did you?? I bet you did,they should do replica singlets for us runners, some nice red and white striped coolmax would be a great jobby.With your name on the back for places like London and N York.

Lowe running Saints like a business- a misconception

Anyway, just because Crouch said it doesn't mean he had anything to do with it -got that Marco? These are figures reflected in the annual accounts form 1st July 2006 to 30th June 2007, you can read them in the club info if you fancy it. During that period the club was run by the Execs and Michael Wilde, Crouch had very little to do with it. The annual accounts dated Nov 07 were signed off by Ken Dulieu I think. For those who fancy a read to refresh their memories. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/club/?page_id=1504 -
Yes we can't service the debts exact,but the "board" are trying to do something about that in the only possible (apparently) way and just getting bile and shîte tipped on them 24/7.

Bale was this year,Theo would come into last years accounts, so that's even worse. Jones was staged payments I think but fully accounted for in the accounts, ie the sale shown in the revenues and the outstanding instalments in the "monies due". It's really difficult to say, hopefully we'll have the accounts soon but last year was catastrophic in anybody's opinion; We just carried on regardless (see Runnymede minutes),spending like there was no tomorrow and now we're paying for it. For a medium size football club to lose and amount roughly equal to their entire "before" player trading" revenue can't be too frequent. I don't know how many of you think about these thing but it means that "before player trading" we couldn't afford to pay a single player or coach without increasing debt. That is chronic,absolutely chronic. It means that all the fans money was spent on other things than playing football on the green square. -
Nah, you really think an 8 million quid overdraft is big debt???? As long as we're not behind on our mortgage instalments that's not a problem. Leeds debt was what 50,60,70,100 million, I don't remember. We aren't greatly in debt, brasher boards would brazen out three times as much and think nothing of it. How much do Watford owe,despite having their 46 million debts paid off,only what 5 or 6 years ago. Or Skate or Man U . If Watford don't go up this season (and it's not very likely) they'l be in serious dos. I bet role model Wigan have some pretty heavy debts,Hull as well by now. Our problem is that our revenue has been seriously reduced and we didn't handle it very well. I wouldn't compare uswith leeds though.
