  1. What striker would that be then ?
  2. Not that it makes any much difference but teenage pregnancies in Switzerland are fairly uncommon, probably at least 10 times as uncommon as in the UK I'd think; Your average continental european teenage girl does not get knocked up easily. I know it's about a ratio of 4/1 UK/France and about 6/1 UK/Germany .
  3. Put it this way, who thinks that Toby would have made the same dubious headed clearance as Maya that fell to Berahino ? Class players have that little something extra which enables them to do the right thing 99.5% of the time.
  4. But to make up such a gap in 10 games they'd probably have to do us a favour by beating Spurs and Liverpool, oh and us as well. If they make up 7 points and some GD from those games then they probably deserve 7th place.
  5. And none taken , still should have checked though.
  6. Yes I got confused between 2 disappointing games in succession, need to check my facts before posting really, then again that would make me MLG bis wouldn't it.
  7. Yes we went to 4 at the back I think...not the point, Coutinho wasn't properly closed down.
  8. I just wish that people would stop equating reality to Football Manager, it's a video game for overgrown children that means absolutely ferk all, you know like Monopoly and buying Mayfair for 400£ or whatever it is. Toby Alderweireld is our highest paid player and as he was on 80000£ a week approximately at Atletico I can't see him being on less. Furthermore if someone would like to point me in the direction of a Forbes list entry showing our owner being worth 4 billion (ie not Willi and Isolde but Katharina) I'd be interested.
  9. You're absolutely right, it was Ward Prowse that didn't close down correctly, Gardos was hauled off after 20 minutes against West Brom..no doubt for being crap. Point is still the same Coutinho wasn't closed down quickly enough, look at it again and you may see what I mean. Toby might have changed ther situation because he's a better player.
  10. The Coutinho goal was stoppable, Gardos was very, very slow off the mark and he turned his back. Good player might well have closed Coutinho down enough to change the situation.
  11. Really it's not even up to us, it's up to the player and Atletico Madrid, sure as hell they aren't going to let us have him for 6.5 million £ or whatever it is because he's obviously worth far more. They just have to give us 2 million £ and then sell him to the highest bidder.
  12. Talking of Ralph, what's his contract situation nowadays, initially he was tied down until the end of this season, anyone heard of any new arrangements on that score ?
  13. Ah well you can't win them all.
  14. As do most Anti Submarine Units.... Know there are increased patrols from Iceland to the Falklands just now, looking for Boris I suppose..who knows, perhaps the Germans are giving us a hand ,saw one of theirs off the Brittany coast the other day.
  15. ASM ?
  16. Status obviously counts more to him than playing time, he thinks he's a top class act but now he's been cast aside by 2 managers who probably want more effort than he's capable of giving.
  17. Still in DD or did you finish your time and move on?
  18. Few wouldn't but I think he's out of our price range on the salary front. Unless of course a year in the stands at Real have taught him some humility since he rejected us out of hand, doubt that though.
  19. He won't deign to sign for us, we're not of a sufficient standard for him, same as we weren't last summer. Plus he'll want a whole lot more than we seem to think fitting for a top player (if he's even that any more) 60K a week must be just about his pocket money. When we decide to pay 80-100K a week to players we may get some "stars", until then Pellè and Tadic you're up.
  20. There is point to it because it is a new level, don't think we've ever qualified for a Euro competition (perhaps the Fairs Cup?) other than from Cup success (or failure) Krueger said it was the objective, Koeman says it's the objective so I think we can take it as read that it's the objective don't you.
  21. Well , the French are active in Mali and the Central African Republic, our Navy is stretched to it's limits patrolling oceans along with the American and British counterparts, don't make out that you don't know this because you do. Edit...can't say that
  22. Why ? Have you trousered the rest of the money then ?
  23. Well whenever they feel like giving us French a hand in combatting the crackpots from spreading all over Africa and beyond let me know and I'll consider your point of view. The French and the English with their armed forces are fighting Europe's battles for them just now. The french and english publics are footing the bills for it whilst the Germans do ferk all and pay ferk all permitting them to have a higher standard of living.
  24. We play Chelsea, Spurs and City, probably about as many as everyone else. Plus Stoke and Everton away. At least 5 out of our remaining 10 can be deemed as tough games.
  25. So why couldn't we afford a striker that we so desperately needed then?
